Brilliant review - I own the G2622T and it is a dream of a guitar - hugely versatile and amazingly affordable for an instrument of such high quality - well done Gretsch
Awesome review! Thanks for the good info. I have a 2627 which is the 3 pickup, cat eye version of the 2622 and i love it. The middle pickup blended with any other channel makes pure jazz tones. Also, the weight relief in the Gretsch center block allows air to pass across the chambers which does make a difference in tone compared to standard center blocks in other brands. And another thing about having multiple volume controls on the guitar itself is the ability for greater gain flexibility at your fingertips. Think of the pup volumes instead as "drive" controls under the master. This out of the box set up allows me to really crank up my amp for tube crunch and leave the pups low to protect my ears. Or lower the master and turn up the pups just like a pre-gain. GRETSCH RULES!
This is a very good review,You can tell he likes the thing. I'm sold on it. I got the G5420T and i love it. Black it will be . My G5420T is Gretsch orange.
I'm a shorter guy at 5'4". I've really wanted to buy a 335 but I don't know if it's 'too big' for me. I play acoustic guitar with comfort but that's obviously a different ball game. Just looking for any opinions really, I could opt for the 339 but I've always preferred both the look and sound of a 335! Any advice?

Give the Gretsch G2655 Streamliner™ Center Block Jr. a look. The body is a little smaller.
