I just bought one of these and im blown away by this guitar! The neck is super comfortable, and the v stop is really comfortable to rest your picking hand on. The tones are amazing, it's not overly bright like alot of p90s are. Theyve got their own unique sound. I play a Telecaster and I wanted a semi hollow, ive had es35s and epiphone dots in the past and this guitar in my opinion is just something special, it's different in a good way. Plus it looks amazing! Thanks for the review!
Yah, I was thinking between this or Epi 335... Ive had an Casino and always felt the P90s are a bit too muddy.. and loved an Gibson 335 I had a chance to play on stage. So ya... phew. Maybe just get an Gretsch tshirt.
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers Just ordered mine in Claret Burst. Beautiful guitar! Very excited! Hope to get a video up when it arrives and played around with for a bit. Cheers!
Had no I idea these Gretsch guitars sounded so wonderful and they look beautiful. Just found your channel really enjoyed what I’ve heard so far. Thanks so much.
Just order one from Sweetwater and can,t wait to get her. Play some country and rockabilly music. Love those P90s. Plus Your a very good player. Like ya style.
Had mine (carbon copy of this one) for almost a week. VERY nice, and love it more than the 2655 humbucker model I had before. Unique sounds for sure. It's like P90's but a sub genre of them. GET one!
They are a limited edition, so there’s a chance that the specs and the neck dimensions are different. The F hole is different, so it may be a different factory.mHaving not played one I can’t say really.
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers Yeah, they say it's a limited edition, but they can still be bought new online. Evidently, they have been around for quite some time, so I don't understand why it is still considered a limited edition. These guitars have an inside label with the serial number, but they don't have the serial number on the back of the headstock. I was so impressed with the feel and sound of this guitar that I bought one, used but in good condition.
@@mickeyjohnson1137 A limited edition guitar will have a certain number of unit available for any given territory, so if e dealer buys a fairly large amount they may take a while to sell through. A VERY cool guitar though !!!
Thank you for the demo Damon! I've been sold on Gretsch ever since I bought my G2210. They are great guitars at an awesome price. I'm thinking about getting another & wanted to know which one you prefer the g2655t or the G2622? They both sound great and the G2622 is only $449, g2655t is $549. Either one is a steal in my opinion.
They are great value Tim . The 22 sounds more 'hollow' and had a bit more zing and top to it, the 55, in my opinion sounds a little fatter and more focussed...just a question of which one looks cooler?
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers Thank you Damon. I'll just have to try them both out in person. I'll make some calls this weekend and hope that one of the guitar shops here in Kansas City have them both in stock. Keep up the great work!
Hi there. Like any P90 they will buzz and hum at high volume when overdriven. You don't notice it in a band situation though. I always turn the volume down when I'm not playing as well. I think most P90 fans just accept the noise, like real Strat or Tele pickups.
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers Thanks Damon, i was on my way to a gig friday and stop by the local music store to pick up strings and saw this guitar on the wall i didn't have time to plug it in but the low action and neck felt really good, but i did notice it was hard to reach high up the neck but at $ 499. i might have to go pick it up.
Enjoyed the video! Really considering this one but with the bigsby, I've always wanted a semi hollow, would you recommend this as a first semi or maybe a different gretsch with Broad’Tron pickups? Or a different brand? I tried 2622t and really liked it but was wondering if there is something else to look at before getting the 2622t?
Hi there. This would be a great choice. But I would try the one iwth the Broadtrons as well, as they are a more mainstream sounding, a little ore generic humbucking tone.

P-90 Guild? P-90 Reverend? P-90 Gibson? P-90 Fender Coventa? Nope, for $499, this Gretsch G2622 looks and sounds best. Sold!
Damon, thank you, you rock dude!
I do....but alot more gently and less frequently than when I was young. Thanks for watch mate.
Yep, and if you’re new to semi and hollow bodies/or p90s what a great guitar to start with.
Thanks for the info Mister! Subscribed. Just ordered this with the Bigsby-part thanks to great free reviews like these. Word from Nova Scotia.
Thanks for the sub! And greetings to you in Nova Scotia...so cool to hear from you.
Got a 2622…after owning a 6120 for a few years it’s absolutely a fantastic guitar
Got mine Xmas Eve the store only took delivery the day before plays beautiful straight out of the box, great demo mate
Thanks mate. Great choice🎸👍
Great demo and guitar, thanks! I'm going to order one with a bigsby tremolo installed.
Great review
Many thanks Vince,
How did you get one....geeze
I have to wait till June....sounds great
Thanks mate. I have worked for Fender for 20 years .
Have you ever played the Gretsch Streamliner G2627t? I'm told the necks are really slim on the 2627t compared to other Streamliners.

Alternative to the Epi- Casino
Absolutely.......higher level of finishing in my opinion as well dude.
Hi ! Is your guitar on Claret or Havana burst ? Thanks from France !
Claret dude!! Like a Bordeaux!
You sound like John Peel 🙌🏻
Now that is a massive honor 👍😀🎶
If you had to choose, would it be this or the G2655?
This one I think. A bit more versatile and dynamic 🎸👍😁😀
Great vid of the 2622. How are more peeps not following you?
