    Lots of people slag this cheap food off, but when your On a budget they can be a life saver. When I was off sick from work for over a year and living on sick pay I survived on things like Asda essentials. If you can turn your nose up at food like this, you don’t know what it’s like too be desperate..

    So true about cheap toasted bred. Once toasted you honestly can’t tell the difference. As for the pork sausages, most of the sausages you eat in cafes are cheap catering sausages.

    • @PotatoPirate123
      @PotatoPirate123 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This is very true. Even the more boutique breakfast places often use cheap tasting sausages, so obviously people don't mind them in a sarnie!

      Most of what they serve up in restaurants is the frozen cheap stuff you can get anywhere and cook at home.

    • @matthewsmith2787

      That’s how cafes make money they buy the cheapest food possible and sell it for a profit.

    Where I live in Canada that meal would be impossible for that price. I'd blow the budget just on the eggs alone. Even with sales it would cost at least $5(well over 3 pounds) for a similar meal, probably more.

    You certainly cannot complain at the cost. Your full English you get the basics (sausages/bacon - pay what you want). Then for essentials like eggs, bread (small loaf as I end up throwing away), beans (cheap ones better than bigger brands imo), mushrooms tomatoes (Tinned/grilled), black pudding (preference/plus if you're not going to waste it). Personally, a big breakfast like this is occasionally. However fantastic value for families.
    Have you done a video on sauces? I really would like to stop spending on big brand names, of Tomatoe ketchup and Brown Sauce.

    Deano, I don’t know the details of what the “Just Essentials” range includes but I was wondering if there is any black pudding available in the range and how much it would increase the price per serving to include let’s say 2 small slices if it’s a small diameter pudding or 1 slice of a larger diameter pudding. I can’t stand to have a full English breakfast without some black pudding preferably covered with the runny egg yolk, but I would prefer my tomato to be fresh and uncooked.

  • @GaryG1974
    @GaryG1974 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Overall, very nice. I an not a fan of ASDA branded food, but I think for that price nobody can moan. I have an issue with the eggs...Why flip them and harden the yolks!?! 😱That is sacrilege! If you want a slightly pinky/milky top to ensure they are cooked, just cover with a lid for a couple of seconds and the steam will sort that out. But flipping them is a no no.
    I never allow supermarket substitutes; give me exactly what I ordered or I will go without. I have heard so many stories of idiotic staff members choosing the most ridiculous substitute items just because it contained some of the same ingredients, you would not believe it!
    I have heard nightmares about the bottom budget tea and teabags. They are basically just filled with the leftover tea ash and scrapings that would not usually qualify as a "leaf" for a standard budget teabag. Some of the ash is so small, even a tea strainer would not catch it. The end result being you end up brewing a tasteless cup of hot brown p!ss.
    £2000 to boil the kettle 🤣 You are not wrong Deano!

  • @fredonline
    @fredonline ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was cringing at the way you 'brewed' the cuppa! Personally I would pour boiling water over the bag, give a good stir and leave for a couple of minutes. Stir again, and then LIGHTLY squeeze any excess water out of the bag, otherwise it may be too bitter.

      Hi Jenny, this is the first and last time i have bought these eggs. We always get free range eggs (from Aldi). I'm educated on the subject and the eggs that you consider "Free Range" come from hens that are not kept in great conditions either. I'm not going to link the videos are they are heart breaking to watch but they are easily found on here. Both my sister in laws keep hens, so please know although i am not vegan, we are a house of animal lovers.

      @@JustDeano I’m am vegan, 12 years now. All meat is suffering, all eggs are suffering, from just hatched male chicks been ground alive, to (I know) the horrific conditions free range hens live at such factories as Happy eggs. You could have not used the eggs stating you only use free range, instead for views you bought cruelty. That’s what I find offensive.

      Also too add, it is easier to convince people to buy free range eggs instead of caged, than it is to buy tofu instead of chicken. Little steps.
