@@bunny_smith I agree ,a bag of oranges cost me about 1 poond 50 _ 2 pounds . I noticed in a vlog that it was almost 6 dollars U.S. CRAZY especially as U.S grow the things xxJanieDundee
It’s amazing how little all that cost isn’t it! I popped to the coop the other day and spent more on much less! It just goes to show what you can get for the money! Well done my love! 💪❤️
Can’t wait to see your opinion, I bought a beef joint from this range last week as that’s all they had left and everyone commented on the tenderness and taste! It was delicious xx
We only have a relatively small Asda on the less convenient side of town, and only visit occasionally. However, most of the yellow label products we have tried have been quite acceptable. A few, such as the cheese and onion pasties, have gone straight in the bin.
Morning my fave essentials are tin peaches there stuffing I add a bit of chopped fruit and cranberry to mine .I love the tin rice pudding the corned beef .I tried the tinned chicken I loved that it had a lot of chicken and white sauce but next time I may add more salt and maybe curry sauce and sultanas and mske it as a curry with pck rice .x
This should be interesting to see what Asda's just essentials would be like in the coming week Chef👩🍳whether, any good, better, or avoid, I usually go to the Co-op or the Spar, which some of their goods are alright but as some has told me a bit costly so I have started going to Aldi even if it's a few more miles but so far cheaper and some of the products surprisingly are pretty good too !!😋👍.
The tins all look similar - reminds me of a really low-budget series of shops called Happy Shopper - if you haven’t got your glasses on, you might pick up the wrong tin - pie, chips and peaches - or you might wonder why your porage tastes horrible - after all, you put plenty of salt in it - it’s not porage - it’s soap powder - which explains why your laundry isn’t clean and your washing machine no longer works! And you don’t serve tinned mixed veg and custard for dessert!
I've tried some of the Asda essentials, some I've thought were good and some not but hey, its up to the individuals taste, things like garden peas and sliced carrots are a brilliant buy. Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to see what you thought of this haul. xx
Asda essentials Baked Beans are sound !!!!. i will never look back ,, sausages are nice,,,, Get what you pay for with sausages , great vid,, i have loved and subbed :)
Noo! I love Heinz baked beans! At least I used to. There's a lot of that happening with Swedish products, too. The quality has gone down the drain, the packaging and whats in it is smaller and the prices are ridiculous.
I've tried a lot of their Just Essentials range. Mr What's For Tea will like the trifles. The yogurts are nice as well. The fishcakes are a bit on the small side but nice nonetheless.
Cheryl; I like the UK Heinz beans as well. Can you get Bush's Beans in your area? They take baked beans to another level. The Home style and the Vegitariian Bush's are my favortie.
This is going to be interesting! If some foods aren't that... tasty, I'm sure you'll have a trick or two upp your sleeves to make it more palatable. I haven't checked, but I believe that I'd have to pay more than double for the same groceries here in Sweden. 😫
Oh my goodness unbelievable,,I couldn't get half that order in Florida for 30.00 dollars. I love watching English vlots seeing the different foods and low compared to Florida prices..
You really should check out the Bald Foodie Guy on TH-cam. He compares a lot of the store brand stuff to the name brand stuff. He’s fun to watch too. Down to earth just like yourself. Will be interesting to get your take on the quality and taste. Mind you, those sausages will not be anywhere as good as the butcher’s. Sometimes it’s worth paying a bit extra for quality.
Some of the value range products in the different supermarkets are good, others not so. In general I don't buy things like carrots, garden peas or potatoes in cans. Frozen/fresh value range are much better texture/taste wise.
I actually prefer Tesco cheapest porridge oats as the texture is less bland and a d has a bit more texture. However, I take my porridge naked as it were.
Im interested in what you think. I do buy quite a bit of the essentials range and really you do pay for what you get. Mostly I find it fine but sone things are now completely off the list. Have to say though if your struggling to put meals on the table take a look,
Wow, crazy prices. I'm not too delighted with canned vegetables most of the time. Frozen veggies taste better to me as a rule. But! I found Heinz Baked Bean, made in the UK, in a specialty shop near me. I'm determined to try beans on toast. Should I butter the toast before topping it with the beans?
I thought you got quite a bit for your money there Cheryl. Those cooked chicken chunks look good, so do the kievs. And let's face it, a tin of peas is a tin of peas however much you pay. My hubby prefers supermarkets own cheap brand baked beans to heinz, he says heinz beans are too sweet. Good yo try new essentials ranges out from the supermarkets, & what's the worst that can happen..if you don't like certain products you don't buy them again. Good to see what you can get for your money 💰
I find going much lower in price for sausages is not a good idea .The last time I tried very cheap sausages they might as well have had sawdust inside ( they probably did ) haha x
It’s baffling to me as an Australian how much food you can get for your money over there! £30 would get us barely a bag of groceries, even if you’re buying home brand
I'm in the US. Yesterday I spent $20 on a bag of coffee, an apple, a half gallon of milk, and two other items. The woman who was bagging groceries let her jaw drop when she heard that it cost me $20 for those five items
My elderly parents use Morrisons for their shopping and like what you've said about Asda they are bad for substitute's as well and sometimes they go to nearest one which is 12 miles away only to find what they wanted there !
Please can you change your thumbnail when doing ASDA hauls, the company is no longer owned by the Yanks, and has been under UK ownership for 2 years, time to ditch the ridiculous Walmart “spark”.
I love watching British shopping because of the different items available than in the States, and also the prices that may be rising there, but not as high or as fast as ours.
Our prices are lower but perhaps Americans are on a higher earning level than Brits ?
@@janielow8719 I go by pound to dollar. Not the standard of living. The price of food in the US is preposterous.

That made me smile as it's why I love to watch US shopping hauls for just the same reason!
this sounds like a great shopping haul, we in Canada are experiencing very high abnormal prices! your lucky!
Some excellent savings there Cheryl, I hope you keep us posted of your honest opinion on the quality of the items in your haul. Happy Cooking 🧑🍳💕
Some of that essentials stuff is nice I like the yoghurt and my son loves the apple juice lol. X

Cheap but vile.
Your opinion and experience is much anticipated.
Certainly some items are lovely and all in all,an epic food shopping haul 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌
Based on today's currency conversion, your prices are AMAZING!
Tin potatoes are great , chilli con çarne in a can is brilliant, and my cats love the can tuna xx
Everything looks lovely. Hope it all works out as well . Thank you for sharing 😊
It will be interesting on the taste test and a possible follow up with a blind taste test on Mr What's for tea in a few weeks.
The smart price sausage rolls are lovely u can get wee frozen ones 50 in bag,the fresh ones lovely as well .
Good selection. Well done!🍏

Probably figured you needed the chips to go with the fish cakes and fish fingers. 😀

Looking forward to hearing how you get on x
Interested to hear your review on taste and quality of these items
Marmalade, lemons, peppers, batter, garden peas, black bags and pasta I've had in the past not bad really x

I shop Aldi and quite enjoy there products. I say if they don’t have it I don’t need it 😊
Hi Cheryl, I’ve tried the fish fingers and the sliced roast beef, and they were lovely. Can’t complain with them prices.👍
wow that's a fabulous haul for that price! amazing! our prices are so high here in the US. Just spent $152 at Aldi today..

Good morning from us kiwis in New Zealand 🇳🇿.

Yes so does ours 🙃 it’s 3 of the same item, not from the entire range.

It annoys me that Asda always has substitutes or unavailable items , it happens with alarming regularity !
My elderly parents use Morrisons for their shopping and like what you've said about Asda they are bad for substitute's as well and sometimes they go to nearest one which is 12 miles away only to find what they wanted there !
Oh I know...that was the issue we used to have when we went regularly 🤔
Very poor asda
I love asda but one week they subbed 18 items which I thought was a bit much🤨so I totally agree with you👍
@@lordgothchild 18!! 🤯
Asda just essentials are creeping up in price - particularly the quiche
😱
All of that in the US would have been at least 5x what you paid.
The Just Essentail white bread is awful, even on the day of purchase it's dry, the only thing it would be good for is bread and butter pudding.
Handy to know about the bread, I'll buy that for next time when near the park duck pond, I'll feed them that instead of half my piece's from my walk.🙂
Most of their stuff in the range is quite bland though I love their pizzas
That range is just the worst. Better off going to Aldi orLidl for the same prices. Everything is vile. Cheap but not quality.
Leave the yellow items alone there just a waste of money.
