Because a lot of people seem to be getting excessively bent out of shape about the joke I make about the LOCOCOCOBOCO method in this video, I want to clarify my point. I was unclear in the video, and I should have stated more explicitly that I don't do 18 layers of product in a normal day (or really at any point, during a typical month). I moisturize with my DIY aloe spritz, seal with oil, and that is it. Two products/steps. This video is about what I do when my hair is *extremely* dry, which is why I'm doing way more here, and indeed, this routine is more in line with the "LOC method."
You said mitigate and pliable so I had to subscribe. Glad to find someone making videos that has a great vocabulary because I'm tired of people squeezing the "access" water out their hair.
@@nappyheadedjojoba 😂😂😂🤣🤣 I subscribed for the same reason. Proper and clear vocabulary wins me over every time. THERE are people who have no idea that THEIR HAIR vlogs will get more traffic BY (NOT bye) using proper English. We are all HERE to HEAR about HAIR. We enjoy having ACCESS to the EXCESSive amount of information but some of us cannot forgo POOR grammar to POUR through countless amounts of videos. I for one, will not WATCH videos about WASH day routines or anything else if I cannot get beyond the lack of basic English and grammar.
I too am stylistically challenged, but now im over it. Watching your videos made me realize that as long as my hair is moisturized and my ends are protected im good
Those purple eyes...gorgeous! FINALLY, we get to see your beautiful, natural hair. It has grown so long. Your face looks like you've lost even more weight. Skin is cream and beautiful as always. Looking good!
Gurl, can I get three bundles of dat hurr? Errybody else can buy dem Malaysian-silky-peruvian-brazilian, not me I want YO HAIR!! Gorgeousness. Don't ever come to Denver cuz you gonna get SCALPED!! Pretty eye look btw.
Your videos have helped me care for my hair and my daughter’s hair so much better than I used to. We have much less breakage than we did in the past. Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom! Also, your eyeshadow is gorgeous.
I believe you did use the LCO method (L=liquid, C=cream, O=oil). The order is just switched since the other familiar one is LOC. You used the aloe spray (your liquid), your moisturizer (your cream), and then your shea butter mix (your oil, or in your case, B=butter). I think the point you wanted to stress on was was that you take minimal steps to moisturize your hair and you don't care to label your steps as the LCO/LOC method.Anyhow, I enjoyed the video :)
Haha, I'm aware. However, I should mention, I don't always spritz my hair *and* use a moisturizing cream product. I have to in instances like this, where my hair is VERY dry and clumped. This video was more about showing how I deal with extremely parched hair, rather than a regular re-up on moisture. Like I said in the video, I had to dampen my hair first, just to make it pliable enough to move around. More often than not, though, I'll use either my aloe spritz OR a cream (not both), and then just seal with an oil, and it works just fine!
Started watching your channel yesterday and i am on a binge. You videos make me feel normal. I am challenged when it comes to my hair because I just couldn’t dedicate the time to do all the in depth stuff other naturalists were doing. My hair is always dry as the grass in a forest 🔥 so this video is right on time. go. I wish my hair would grow to shoulder or oven mid back length.
How I wish T was my friend in real life, I will always be entertained. I keep forgetting to squeeze in products like you do, it's super helpful for low porosity hair. Eye make up is beautiful. Am I the only one who loves her wink at the end of her videos #girlcrush
I love how you don't follow all the methods and madness that has my head spinning at times. You so your own thing with tour own personal spin and personality which I love!!
This eye look... iconic. I had been moisturising my hair for years with a leave in, sealing with Shea butter that I would warm up in my hands and then put olive oil on top. Had no idea it was being referred to as the “LCO method.” It just seemed so obvious to me for my hair type. Great video as always.
Jesse the Smartass yeah I see that happen a lot with people who watch TH-cam videos. They’re so concerned on how to precisely replicate something else when they should be figuring out what works for them. That’s why it made me laugh when people suddenly stopped using coconut oil and shea butter because my hair drinks that stuff up. If your hair likes thick products and doesn’t feel too weighed down, then shea butter could be a new weapon in your arsenal.
Your eye makeup is so beautiful! Also I love your sense of humor & personality 😄 if you had a podcast of some kind I'd definitely tune in lol. I need to get my hands on that Camille Rose oil. I love her almond jai twisting butter. I use it after spraying aloe juice & I seal with my DIY oil. I get amazing slip & long lasting moisture. This video came at a good time because wash day was this weekend. I'm slacking off & I've just been wearing a bun. The longer & more time consuming my hair gets, the easier it is to slack off & get lazy. Thanks for reminding me to moisturize 🙏🏽🙌🏽
😂😂😂😂 locobococo! Ah! You've made my afternoon per usual. I feel you on being style challenged. I have my go to which is twists. Lol! Can't complicate my life tbh.
This video came at the right time for me. I just took down some box braids last night and I was feeling lazy but now I will be moisturizing the peppercorn (LMAO) out of my hair. Thanks Girl!!!
You are by far the most well-articulated TH-camr I have seen......wait, let me add Naptural85, but you missy.........wondering what you do as a career. Bomb
That beautiful mane of yours is growing gooOD!!!! Like you I'm style challenged as well. That's why it's the old, old, pre-historic old skool interconnected plaits for me. Lol. Those products you used today must love your hair and vice versa because they easily melted right into your strands and I could tell that your hair effortlessly accepted its goodness and behaved itself. I leave my plaits in for a month at a time, as inspired by watching you tuber Efficiently Naturals channel, for one. I moisturizer them daily, and actually wash and condition them weekly without taking them down before doing my "real wash routine" after about 28 or so days. Like your hair, my hair too is thriving because of it. At take down I tend to get the most tangling/matting around my roots at the plaits just inside the perimeters of my scalp. But if I saturate them with a detangling concoction and let it sit to soak in, pulling all the gunk apart becomes less stressful to my strands, thus less hair loss occurs. I love all of your glam looks and hair accessories, but especially for myself I like your puffs. From your links below I've discovered that Vivica A. Fox has a line of Afro puffs--and I'm a fan of hers (met her in person once). I'm going to get one or two to experiment with over spring thru fall of 2018. Yaaay!! How's Ray Ray behaving??? He's been pretty quiet in the background lately. How big is he now? Keep it coming gorgeous. Thanks lots!!!
Your routine sounds like it's really working for you -- that's wonderful! RayRay turned 1 in July, and she hasn't grown much in the past 6 months or so. She's always going to be a little peanut!
I'm style challenged as well. Can't corn row. Very blah with flat twists. Boot leg flat twisting I can do. But I can do some basics enough to look cute. Like a pig tail pony tail tuck kind of thing.
P.S Almost forgot. I agree that no product known to man, thus far, can "make" your hair grow, BUT some potions will help better stimulate the growth of lazy or dormant follicle activities as evidently does the Al Shaafi Egg Yolk oil. I promise I'm steadily plus rapidly seeing little baby hairs sprouting up all the time as well as continuing to grow in length. I want you to think about trying it boyz & gals! ❤️
Peppercorns? 😂 You're hilarious without trying. I am also style challenged and this look is gorgeous for something everyday. I guess I can suspend No spend November for a small hair piece. Thanks for the inspo!
Thank you for the diet and genetics comment. I don't believe in a growing miracle serum either. It just is what it is, and I am definitely on the struggle bus. 🌺🌴🌺
Enjoyed your video. I like that you keep it simple. I noticed you didnt use any combs or brushes. I dont use them at all. Are you still finger detangling? Your hair is beautiful, Beautiful lady! 😊
Okay, pause. I'm a minute fifty in and had to stop to comment on your eye shadow. Chile...Life! Everythang! Beautiful! Oh and btw, it's great to see your hair! Thanks for all you do NHJ!!
Gosh ya make up! You are always so well put together, I would like to see more GRWM's. I know you just did one but, I liked sitting down and watching you put on ya face and get real and personal with us.
Again, thank you for helpful info and keeping it so real! I am also style challenged but taking care of my hair is a priority. Now, I have to go to Target for Camille Rose - luv your videos
Thanks for this video! Love the feature and feedback of products that have ayurvedic ingredients already in it bc not everybody has time for that! Also your ARMS ARE GOALSSSSS!!! Does the afro puff feel heavy?
I really like the coco nibs and honey. I just repurchased last week. It makes my hair noticeably softer and smells lovely. I'm going to use it for the next season because I'm curious if it will have an effect on my growth rate.
P.PS I bought my Al Shaafi Egg Yolk oil from Amazon. Amazon gives more specifics about the oil and the price is $29 on sale. eBay has it for $19 but I'm not very familiar with eBay purchases and I also didn't see them explaining the product at all.
Hello T:) I have been watching your videos for a little bit, and I was wondering if the brand of aloe vera you use works the same as normal aloe vera juice that needs to be refrigerated (in terms of slip mostly) Thank you!
I'm so glad that you are making more videos. I need you in my life daily! Now that I've watched this video I am inspired to go moisturize my extremely dry hair. Thank you. #rideordie
I️ do the same thing with my hair I️ rub the water into my hair so my hair can drink it up. I️ thought I️ was the only one who ps roots get the most tangled, it’s so annoying at times.
What do you do about your hair when you work out? I need to get back into working out again, but my scalp gets really sweaty and gross and I don't want to have to wash my hair weely.
Love the Cocoa Nibs Serum for same reasons. My main dosha is Pitta , and sesame oil aggravates it during the summer. Glad I can pull it out again now that it’s fall. Kinda smells like Coca-Cola (in a good way)
So you spray your hair with your aloe vera juice, then use a hair milk, which you follow up with an ayurvedic oil, and seal with a butter....So LCOB? LOL
choco milk Its a leave in, but it's def not a liquid. Which means depending on how you define the L in LOC/LCO (as either liquid, which usually means a spray mix or just plain water, or a leave in), it can take the place of the L or C. I think leave ins get grouped together with the liquid part since most are water based, so they can hydrate as well as moisturize.
Like on my wash days, since I have very high porosity, I do the LOCB with aloe Vera juice, an oil blend, a leave in, and then a mango butter mix. All depends on how much hydration v moisturization your hair needs
Maybe I’m slow 👀lol , but .. did she say what kind of moisturizer she was trying to get rid of ? As a fellow 4c Natural , I would love to know . ..and I’m mosey 😂😂
Hey T, do you or any one in the comments know anyone in LA that does dreadlocks well? Will pay extra for travel. Very serious, need it done ASAP. I’m look for that Michael b Jordan in “black panther” look lol
But wouldn't you using the liquid in the bottle, the the moisturizer, and then your Shea mix a form of the LOC method? You said that it was unnecessary but you still used 3 products in the same manner (thinner to thicker product) or did you mean solely because you didn't use an oil?
I was referring to people layering 5, 6, 7 etc. products on (i.e. LOCOCOCBOCO), which *I have seen done* on TH-cam. It's just not that serious. I dampened my hair so I could actually move it, applied a moisturizer, and sealed with a butter. When it's not this dry, I can usually just spritz it, and then maybe seal with an oil.
nappyheadedjojoba yes I understand what you mean. I just use a JBCO leave in, JBCO, and Shea butter. And I'll use eco style gel for some hold when styling

So you spray your hair with your aloe vera juice, then use a hair milk, which you follow up with an ayurvedic oil, and seal with a butter....So LCOB? LOL
