Because “Remember Me” came out fairly close to when my beloved grandma passed away and hearing the song being performed at the Oscars caused me to leave the room, I didn’t see the film until summer 2022 because I knew the film was just going to make me cry and remember her passing. While it did, I did not cry as much as I thought I would and enjoyed it far more than I thought I would and I’m STILL “kicking myself” for not watching it earlier

Moana has some of the best songs in this Disney film timeline, much like the Frozen franchise! They have that same spark as the Renaissance era of Disney films that makes them absolutely memorable.

Let It Go predictably takes its well-deserved crown, but I am very happy to see Badder and Show Yourself on this list. Badder is one of the best villain songs ever and the only good scene in the movie. Show Yourself is an underrated masterpiece I love much more than LIG. SY is hauntingly beautiful, meaningful, and imo more mature than its predecessor, so thanks for including it!
Hearing some of those again brought back so many memories of watching Disney movies with friends and family.

I’m going with How Far I’ll Go, Let It Go, Into The Unknown, Pressure, We’re Of The Same Pride and Lead The Way. How Far I’ll Go in particular is my favourite Disney song ever.
Disney put out some great songs but Moana’s How Far I’ll Go is by far my favorite. Auli’l Cravalho did amazing!
My cousin sang “Let It Go” so many times after watching Frozen I almost lost my mind. But, it didn’t change the fact that it’s still an awesome song

I'm so happy that you've included "Show Yourself" song from Frozen 2 in the list. It was my most favorite Disney song next to "Into The Unknown" because of how beautiful the rhythms were as much as Elsa's when I first saw it in 2019.
If you're adding Disney Channel songs, I really think 'Ready As I'll Ever Be' from the Tangled series deserves a spot. Or at least an honourable mention ❤️

On the whole, "Frozen" probably had the most complete set of great songs. "Mary Poppins Returns" was also solid, but can't compare to the original. Then again, few things can match that.
MPR was spectacular but definitely not on the level of the original’s magical excellence
Moana is one of my favorite animated movie of all time. Its music was amazing. There were so many good Disney movies in the last decade.

As amazing and moving as Show Yourself is, it's the Next Right Thing that left me stunned. "Hello darkness I'm ready to succumb" I mean it's Disney! Beautiful song, but Let it go will always be my karaoke go-to.
I completely agree, because Anna's songs are just as good as Elsa's songs are.
Most of Anna's songs may be heartbreaking and not as showstopping as Elsa's songs, but here's the thing. Anna's songs always leave a powerful message, and "The Next Right Thing" is one of them. After Elsa and Olaf died, Anna was ready to succumb to her sadness and heartbreak, but she decided to try to free the enchanted forest herself because she knew that was what Elsa would have wanted.
I hate how underrated "The Next Right Thing" is, because even though it's so sad to listen to, it tells you that grief is a never-ending thing to go through, but you should never give up on life and keep moving forward, and that is exactly what Anna did. That's just REMARKABLE, and that's one of the main reasons why I think Anna is a much better protagonist than Elsa. (even though I love Elsa too)
All the songs from the "Descendants" franchise and "Frozen" franchise along with "Evermore" from "Beauty and the Beast (2017 film)" and "Speechless" from "Aladdin (2019 film)" helped me get through my high school and college years. I will never stop listening to them over and over again.

Personally show yourself is my favourite (mentally and phsycologically,I’m a lot like Elsa in the first one and show yourself just makes me bawl on the inside. Like with her,my past is kind of a mystery as well.) I feel like me and Elsa are actually on an insanely similar journey to me. And math wise she’s only about 4 years older than me.( Im 20) and another woman

7:32 I am SOOOOOO glad “Speechless” made the list because it’s my “comfort” song. Because of my ADHD, one of my “downsides” is that I have a tendency to be extremely talkative to the point where it annoys people and they want me to be “seen and not heard.” It’s not my fault that I’m a friendly person who likes to socialize and that everyone dominates their conversations so in order to even say anything I have to “elbow my way in” just to even talk cause otherwise if I don’t, I’m COMPLETELY ignored as if I was nothing more than an actual ghost. More often than not, if I’m in a mood, I would wish that I was a mute then that way everyone would get their wish of me actually being seen and not heard. But when “Speechless” came out, it reminded me to be strong, don’t let myself get beaten up by negative thoughts and that I’m my own person who should love me for me and shouldn’t care what others think about me
There should definitely be another list for songs from Disney Channel shows. I am sure Summer Belongs To You from Phineas & Ferb, Ready As I'll Ever Be from Tangled The Series, Double Take from Austin & Ally, and Legendary from Raven's Home would all be great on that list.

I’m pleased that Badder and Speechless is on the list and when I saw Disney channel songs being included I wondered if there would be a Descendants song there I would have picked What my name over Chillin like a villain though ( fact ) when they we’re filming that song they had to do it in the rain sometimes how is We don’t talk about Bruno number 2? on other videos it was always number 1 and how did it not win an Oscar? don’t you know how popular it was

I'm a millennial 28 year old woman, who stutters and grew up watching Disney movies especially Mulan, which is my favorite nearly 25 years later. But Let It Go and Show Yourself from the Frozen franchise really allowed me to feel validated when it comes to my past struggles. If anyone is unfamiliar with Stuttering, Stuttering is a neurologically based speech and communication disorder and prolongations of spoken words and sounds. In layman's terms: I have some trouble talking as fluently compared to the avg person, think King George from the hit biographical movie The King's Speech, but my speech patterns as an adult have definitely improved since I was a child due to speech therapy, support, and embracing what my stuttering has brought me.
I vote that you make another one of these in 10 years.

It’s about time Teen Beach Movie got a bit of love! Love Power is my favorite Disenchanted song. But Lin Manual Miranda wowed me big time with Moana and Encanto. I already loved Let It Go before seeing Frozen. But then when spring/summer 2014 came around I grew tired of the song and only watched the movie one time. My dad got misty eyed when Miguel played Remember Me for Coco. Something I rarely see him react while watching a movie.

IMO Show Yourself in Frozen 2 is so much better that the into the unknown... the documentary about the making of frozen 2 is so interesting it talks about for the longest time they were thinking of scrapping show yourself... so glad they didn't

I'd argue that any number of songs from Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, or the remixed lullaby version of the Moon theme from the Ducktales reboot, deserve to be on this list, but I guess this was a movies-only list. I do really appreciate the list that was put together, though! Very good choices all around.
