When I was in elementary school, I was part of choir, and I was selected as one of two soloists who got to sing for one of our recitals. My song was Colors of the Wind, and the other soloist sang Circle of Life. I still love singing that song, but it has kind of followed me throughout my school years because my mom became OBSESSED with me singing it. She was convinced I would become Pocahontas when I interned at WDW (didn't even apply; wouldn't have qualified anyway).

No joke. Elsa's songs are legit insane. I had to train my voice for a couple of weeks before I tried to cover "Show Yourself." Even then, I felt like I could do better. Those high notes murdered my alto-range voice.

@@christopherreeder1679you are entitled to your wrong opinion 😂. Jk jk, it's all preferance. In my opinion, Halle Bailey WAY over did Part of That World. It's just too extra and lacks any sort of sweet and theatrical magic too it. Its so dark and professionally correct rather than light, bubbly, and broadway magical like the original. Also, Eric's song was cringe as F*ck. Just completely out of place and unnecessary. Its an autotuned wreck and just blah. Scuttle Butt was just terrible. It wasnt worse than Eric's song in my opinion though. Kiss the Girl was boring. It lacked all the layers the original had. Same with Under the Sea. It was just very monotone and boring. The only decent song and decent acting from that movie was Melissa Mccarthy and Poor Unfortunate Souls. Also, Vanessa's scenes were great. Those were the only highlights of that entire movie. When compared to the original, it's just so bland. It was very disappointing.

Ever since, I have challenged myself to sing harder and harder tunes. Today, I have actually been told by REAL stage performers that my renditions of "Out There" from Hunchback of Notre Dame, "Whole New World" from Aladdin, and "Go the Distance" from Hercules are SPOT ON PERFECT! I also apparently do a mean impression of Powerline whenever I2I and Stand Out come up on my Disney playlist. As for songs I'm trying to master, "Bells of Notre Dame", "Hellfire", and "Why Should I Worry?" are on my worklist. You totally should have mentioned billy Joel's Oliver and Company song. It’s not just about high notes or holding tones. For me, the songs “Poor Unfortunate Soul” and “Be Prepared” are difficult to follow or wayyyyy too low for ordinary female or male singers. They can be on this list as well.
“I Won’t Say At All”, “Colors of The Wind”, “A Whole New World”, “Almost There”, “Reflection” and “How Far I’ll Go are not hard at all. Their singers has just a unique and crisp voice, suited to the characters.
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Gaston”, “When Will My Life Begin”, “Under The Sea”, “Be Our Guest”, all need either focus on timingl or vocal technique - indeed not easy. The Opening song of Lion King is indeed hard to replicate. “Be Our Guest” is indeed challenging - accent and key wise. “Zero to Hero” and all the other gospel style songs in Hercules are definitely the hardest in the list. Gospels are naturally hard. “Into The Unknown” and other songs from Frozen indeed requires a singer with high range. “Friend Like Me” is fast, lots of speaking. Lots of highs and lows, not everyone can sing. The songs in Hunchback are indeed challenging songs, mostly for tenors. I agree with “Supercalifragilistic” and the older songs from Sleeping Beauty. Of course my winner would be the songs from “Snow White”.

A popular video on Facebook is really causing me much thinking these days, which is Julie Andrews and young Osmand Brothers sang Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in 1964. I was completely amazed by the way Julie Andrews produced it😦… NO ONE like Julie Andrews sang it such "easy", free, cute, classic… In the same time keeping the vocal quality. It may not be very long, but still, where is "Mother Knows Best - Reprise", also from Tangled? The amount of malevolence that the incomparable Donna Murphy puts in that short song, is just breathtaking, and she's all over the vocal map in there. Everyone is impressed by the longer stuff, or the higher or more tongue-twistery stuff, and rightly so, but a short piece like that is the vocal equivalent of the perfectly placed guitar riff only at the perfect place in a song. It may sound like not much (although I again argue that Murphy is breathtaking) but the skill and talent needed to make a short piece like that memorable yet sound easy, is enormous.

    - I like to sing a long to "I won't say (I'm in love)" and I can tell you that it does knock the wind out of you after a while if you are not used to that style of singing.
    - I can definitely see "Reflection" being difficult to sing for all the held notes throughout the song, for which there are many, it would definitely knock the wind out of anyone trying to sing a long to it.
    - In regards to "Friend Like Me", he doesn't have the range of voices of Robin Williams, but Will Smith definitely tried to live up to the original song and I would say he did a great job putting his own spin on it. Smith's version is definitely easier to sing a long to, but Williams' version is just so iconic because of how he used a variety of voices to make it memorable, which is impressive since he is not a singer by trade. RIP Robin Williams, we truly miss you.
    - "How far I'll go" I think suffers from the same problem as "Reflection" especially with how long that last note is held which is what makes it so hard to sing a long to without running out of breath.
    - I completely agree with #1 since I cannot even SAY the word without multiple attempts so props to both singers for integrating it into such a face paced song.
EDIT: There is another song in Moana that I feel is more difficult than "How Far I'll Go" and that is "You're Welcome", that fast paced part has the potential to be a tongue twister to the unprepared.

Honestly if we heard Indina sing her Frozen songs in her prime when she was in Wicked they’d basically be untouchable (though I really loved the Japanese and Italian versions of Into the Unknown). Indina didn’t take care of her voice properly so even she’ll say for specifically the Frozen 2 songs and probably even Let it Go that she can’t sing them live. And while Show Yourself was a hard one i still think Into the Unknown is harder because of how many times she has to hold a note. Biggest note she has to hold in Show Yourself technically comes at the end.
I will say I loved that I’m glad Hunchback of Notre Dame got mention, that movie does not get enough hype.

And earlier this year when me, my mom, my nana and her partner, and my aunt and cousins went to see Aladdin on tour the whole room erupted with applause both the moment when Genie made his entrance and after “Friend Like Me”!

Under the Sea (I am actually decent with this song, and I have fun with it)

Zero To Hero (I have done this one many times; I love it, and I feel I get better each time I do it)

14:26 "This Disney film follows a group of gods, so what better way to honor that theme than with some gospel music?" Honestly I don't even know where to begin my criticism of that absurd sentence. Like yeah, it's a movie about a pagan polytheistic religion so obviously the best choice is a music style associated with Christianity. You know, to honor polytheism!
Look, I'm a Christian, and I'm not mad they used the gospel style in the movie. I find it ironic, but fantastic. But the fact this chick thinks these naturally go together... GIRL.

So most of these were sung by people judt listening to each other at different times, and recording their own lines. And one person had to do it all without another person to refrence!

Ms. Mojo videos are like visual Pringles! #onceyouMojo… 🥰
All the songs are so good for this for all the reasons given! Though the order is… interesting.🙃
“Zero to Hero” is so good! Gospel is hard! I would’ve put it top three for sure. As is “Show Yourself”. I tried to do “Reflection” at karaoke & after two lines, I skipped & instantly felt relieved. But that said “Let It Go” lives in my head at random like that gum commercial in “Inside Out”. Can’t sing but love trying to belt that high note. 😊
I always think the patter songs (thanks Only Murders!) are the hardest bc they’re so fast, take a lot of breath control & Disney characters tend to actually sing them so they tend to (mostly) require actual range & technique, or at least a fake over the top accent to pull them off as you pointed out. So I’m very ELATED to see so many of them on the list, including SuperCaliFrag @ #1!!! I just rewatched Mary Poppins the other day & all those songs are so hard & very long! Also fun fact I just learned, Dick van Dyke didn’t start dancing & maybe singing until he was in his 30’s?! What a talented man! Also would’ve loved to see “One Jump”, “Prince Ali”, “Love is an Open Door”, “Mother Knows Best”! SO HARD! Donna Murphy is like doing vocal runs, but comically! And one of the most deceptively hard songs “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King”. Bc Jason Weaver is like singing his parts & going back and forth from chest to head voice & having to do it so soulfully to tie up his parts, the music & T&P. Try it. I played it on piano as a kid, so I was constantly trying to sing it & it’s crazy hard! Also it was 17 pages! But, as mentioned earlier with Mary Poppins, Disney songs are just super long sometimes & it’s more than okay! It’s encouraged!
Also much patter love to “…Bruno”, but “The Family Madrigal” is hands down the hardest song in Encanto bc of the rhythm & pace. Oooh! Actually maybe Luisa’s song is bc of her alto to soprano tone, plus the style change, so hard!
Would love to see a patter song list! And Idk if you’ve done “Most amount of epic musical numbers overall in a movie musical”? Like I’m always looking for musicals that have just like knock your socks off numbers front to back. Like “Chicago” or “Singing in the Rain”. Maybe a little known, or less popular version of this list too? (I do see that you did most influential dance movies. And 2000’s dance movies.) Also maybe, Movies that were ahead of their time. Like “His Girl Friday”. Best animated VO performances in movies. Everyone in the Spider-verse. Most surprisingly funny films no one knows. Underrated dancers/ Dancers who could’ve been more famous than Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers. Is there a suggestion page?! Or is this it? Most cerebral kids films! Like “Inside Out”! You can even do a Best live Pirate themed show or movie (so you can include One Piece & Our Flag…!)
Thanks for all the work you all put into these!!! Take care til next time!

"Master, I don't think you quite realize what you've got here! So why don't you just roominate whilst I illuminate the possibilities!"
Friend Like Me is one of my favorite Disney songs and it took a lot of practice but I've learned to sing it perfectly, and it's a lot of fun too. Consider it my personal tribute to Robin Williams because the words are true, we ain't never had a friend like him and sadly, we never will again. I can also sing Aladdin's lines in A Whole New World pretty well too, but frankly, I'm surprised that you didn't put Prince Ali on the list. Now THAT'S a hard song to sing, though I have to agree, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious definitely earns the #1 spot on this list (and I hope I never have to type it out ever again. Lol!). Another Disney soundtrack that I enjoy singing songs from with these golden chords of mine (yes, really) is The Nightmare Before Christmas. Belt singers train for years to sing in their style and keys while baritones like me just go "Eh, that's not that high" since we drop it an octave, but any belt song is worthy of this list.
