Hello!🤓 Designer here. A vertical rail would, by necessity, need to be different from a horizontal rail. At its highest point the distant of the rail to the wall should either be 2 inches (depending on thickness of the rail. 2" inch rail = 2" minimum distance from wall) or curved at the upper end of the rail so the rail meets the wall edge on. The first design idea I envision is better for it would be easier to transition from the vert wall to the vertical rail. A curved ended rail could cause rider to shoot off wall if they hit wrong angle of the curved end and to make the transition rider would have to pop and ollie which is a trick within itself on vert. Best would be a rail that when laid on the ground looks like a ramp, perfectly meeting the ground on one end and tapering up to the desired rail height on the other. Like a very acute triangle. Maybe 10° at most, or maybe a little more. I am sure others in the comments have suggested the same. Keep of the great work brothers of Braille!👊🏼
I love how he says, "How does it work?" Well, take the video and turn in 90 degrees clockwise, and you will see. Somewhat joking aside, it's because when you are at 90 degrees and Ollie onto something that is also 90 degrees, it's no different than being on "flat ground" for the most part. A final way of thinking about it is imagine the rail was on flat ground. Then you had winds powerful enough that when you skatted up to grind it, they would push you back in the direction you were coming from. That's just how gravity is working here.
This was one of our scariest ideas. Stoked to make it happen though!
