The Drexler-Porter-Kersey-Williams teams were an incredible time to be a Blazers fan. If they had been able to utilize Sabonis at center during those years, they’d have been legendary. Great, great memories regardless.
I agree . That team was no joke . If they would’ve gotten Sabonis in 89 or 90 , maybe they beat the bulls or Pistons and get pass the Lakers in 91. They gave the bulls all they could handle in 92. If it weren’t for that amazing in game 6 in 4 th quarter . There would’ve been a game 7 . Bulls would’ve been in trouble. Drexler was one of the few guys that could go toe to toe with Jordan . That team along with Utah really scared me as a bulls fan .
Oh what could have been… there is footage of Sabonis wearing this era blazer jersey when he was allowed to come to Portland to rehab an injury, but not to play… it was so close, he was in the building wearing a blazers jersey in 89-90, or close to then.
That reverse dunk at 3:33 is one of the best in game dunks ever. I don’t understand how this footage is not shown or talked about much. This fool did a reverse dunk on a big man! Name one player you saw dunk on a center or even any player with their back facing the defender. Unbelievable
that shi- looked incredible, i don't think we've ever seen an in game dunk like this ever in modern bball. why don't people have this dunk in their top 20 dunks of all time?
Rockets passed on him despite him being in their own back yard with the Houston Cougars and drafted Rodney McCray. Imagine if the Dream & Drexler show had played out over their entire career. They played together in college so they knew each other quite well. Maybe the Bulls and others would have less titles.
