    24:41 my assumption is that the twin hearts is for redundancy kinda like the chestplate like upper ribs and sternum. The twin hearts is likely also the reason for the Energy Swords twin prong like blade design. It’s meant to be stabbed into the chest where each of the prongs stabs one of the hearts.

      @@blueguy2128 perhaps, though maybe the twin prongs being useful for trapping an opponent’s blade is just a nice side advantage while the “one prong for each heart” is the main reason or vice versa.

      @@blueguy2128 ok, but look at the energy sword's hilt (really more of an emitter I suppose). I don't see how the modern version of their swords would function that way, unless there's some as-yet uninvented lore about how crossing the inner edge of the blades with another sword deactivates them for...some reason. maybe on sangheili swordbreakers were seen as so advantageous they became the standard though, who knows.

    • @blueguy2128
      @blueguy2128 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@xXx_Regulus_xXx My dude disarm means disarm not deactivate. If that's a primary sword then yeah, because their secondary blade is one blade not a 2 pronged blade and Sangheili morphology allows for them to twist their wrists more rather than fold it like we can because they have 2 thumbs. So that makes a double pronged blade a great answer to common single pronged. I doubt the covenant are the only species in the galaxy that use energy blades as the covenant have conquered and integrited hundred's so the Elites two pronged blade is very relevant outside of fighting amongst themselves

    This is brilliant, I've never seen a fictional autopsy done so well, aside from a few in some sci fi's such as the recent X-COM games Enemy Within and XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. This is exactly as I'd expect a Sangheili autopsy to go mate. Your knowledge of science, your philosophies, and Engineering knowledge you displayed (far greater than me) enhances this so much.

    Also shout out how you told this like an in universe autopsy discovering more with the doctor and making assumptions with him was oddly enjoyable. Would love to see more of this approach.
    The aliens bungie made for halo have always been one of the most creative in fiction and always been at the core of the games. I’m glad to see them getting expanded in this way.

    Incredible presentation. I greatly appreciate the fact that you not only go 10 extra miles to rationalise stylised physiology.But you also ground the inherent traits in reality. Very nice touch placing the procedure early in the conflict as well. It makes the remarks your character makes more explanatory rather than condescending in nature, as you are breaking it down for grunts. You deserve the budget and resources that were waisted on that TV show. Halo got incredible talent in its community. And even if it won't sometimes seem like it, you should know that your extensive effort is greatly appreciated.

    Really interesting that the Sangheli have such low fat reserves, or at least this one did. The caloric demand for such a biologically expensive lifestyle would be extreme. Muscle mass is huge, and cognition is probably similar to demand in humans, which is to say around 300 to 400 calories (That is just to think by a normal American adult on a normal day mind, humans in combat require about 3 to 4 thousand calories a day to function, cognition demand likely increases too). An athletic human male who is six feet tall and weighing 200 pounds maintaining a high muscle mass who works out three to five times a week requires about thirty-two hundred calories a day. The hypertrophy a normal elite would have to engage in to nurture themselves so much would be extreme. They would have to eat a truly gargantuan amount of food.
    Furthermore, they are doing it by a largely carnivorous diet, their intestines are very short, so they lack flexible options for forage, and make poor use of non animal matter nutrition.
    ONI making war on Sangheli supply ships, supply chains, and poisoning any food stuffs would be essential to the war effort, in my opinion. Such an expensive animal would be desperate for food, especially with how starved these frontline troops tend to be.
    Just for reference, a Grizzly bear maintains about 30 to 40 percent body fat depending on the season. Fat is highly important for the health of earth animals, I am really curious where the split lips are getting their energy from.

    • @mrschizo2837
      @mrschizo2837 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Simple, they get energy from _Righteous zeal._ Also a comic I've read has shown that the covenant has entire ships dedicated to growing crops and livestock in an artificial biosphere, which they probably pump full of god knows what to make them grow bigger and faster. How many they have with each fleet is unknown but before it was lost to the Flood, there was at least one in the fleet present at Installation 04 during Halo CE. I'd assume they probably have a few of these accompany any sizeable fleet as the covenant know full well that their ships are faster and stronger than humanity's, and therefore if they can't destroy a threat, they can outrun it.

    I LOVE the in universe styling of doing this. Love love love it. Been waiting to see this since you first talked about it and would adore more pieces like this. I have no idea if we actually have enough biology data for other covenant species beyond speculation for this to be done with... But seeing a project like this for all viable Covenant species would be awesome. Thank you once again for your hard work, acting and writing, 00.

    Man I think this is the only channel that goes deep into the lore of Halo and the anatomy of each of the Covenant races. I think I should share this to one of my Shangheili friends think he would appreciate this a lot. I would like to add maybe you can continue where you left off with autopsy. Maybe spice it up, have it be medical have a medic attempt to save a Shangheili during a surgical procedure or something related to medical? Otherwise I would like for you to continue the autopsy on the rest of the Covenant species, that be neat!
    I’ll also probs be using this video as reference as it could help me with what I’m planning on writing soon. Thanks for the awesome video bro!

    The only improvement I would like to see is more talk about how the biology affects physical performance. Like how fast an elite could run, what force output could be achieved, what weight could be realistically lifted, what type of exercise are they best suited to (sprinting/endurance/aerobic/lactate threshold etc) and how it compares to a human. Very interesting none the less tho
