    this ship has a lot of heart. I know there is the Pillar of autumn and the forward unto dawn, but I personally prefer this one. It was able to go through a forerunner shield world and forgot what covenant ship it survived, lost for 28 years, and is still alive thanks to its crew. Even going against atriox who the covenant could not get. It's one hell of a ship.

    • @ladslounge2698
      @ladslounge2698 4 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      I think the story around Atriox surviving the Covennant is overly exaggerated. Covenant was already at full scale war with Humanity when Atriox rebelled so it was easy for him to pick on smaller covenant and himam targets, guerilla warefare tactics is what Atriox employed. Lets hope we get to see him in the next HW and hopefully end the stroy arc of The Spirirt of Fire.

    • @kurtwang51
      @kurtwang51 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @Shelby Sigouin have you read Rise of Atriox? They are scavengers, the Banished are smart but they weren't openly fighting the covenant and defending planets. While I agree Ateiox is articulate and a great startegist he had the advantage of scavenging planets that were destroyed by the Human - Covenant war. He never openly attacked the UNSC and he was on the run from the covenant for most part while building his forces up.

      People say it's OP don't tend to read the lore about it's capability limitations, it's on par with a CAS class. Since the UNSC only made 2 in 30 years, if the Covenant haven't broken up they would of did quick work of em in mere minutes with a handful of CAS, better yet throw a CSO class in the mix & they would've wreck it like hands going through wet toilet paper. Hell a glassing beam space station shot once & tore a hole in the Infinity right into it's belly then out of the other end on top while fully shielded, another hit would of destroyed it as stated by Lord Hood.

    Spirit of Fire is the definition of a hero ship in the purist form possible. Firstly, being converted from a civilian vessel to a battle ready vessel, having to fight of multiple covenant sieges on different worlds, battled the flood, visited and destroyed a shield world, stayed adrift for 28 years before finding the Ark, and took on a individual so powerful and vast that even the covenant could not defeat. The ship has seen and done it all just like the chief.

    Just another theory about the Artificial Gravity systems: the shape of the Spirit of Fire's hull does not immediately dispute the single point artificial gravity generator theories, but it can provide reinforcement to said theory on earlier Earth starship design. It would depend upon the application of the gravity in question and any potential field shape. Were the shape of a resulting gravity field from one or several artificial gravity generators to be cylindrical along the length of the ship's hull, that would account for the sloped designs port and starboard of the ship as well as those slopes ending before the engines rather than just continuing the whole length of the ship. This theory is only possible because of the ship's age as we see no other UNSC vessel with this type of design and more modern vessels would have more modern systems with which to control the gravity.
    This is actually reinforced by the Pelican dropships launching from the Spirit of Fire whose engines vector thrust downward. In a gravity free environment, they would not need to do this and it would actually be hazardous for any ship to do this when launching from one of the sloped docking rings on the Spirit of Fire as downward thrust would push the dropship into the Spirit's superstructure. However, they would need to vector thrust downward if they were combating an artificial gravity field generated by the ship before clearing said field and vectoring away and towards its destination.
    As far as upgrading this system goes, it would be a long way down on the list of potential upgrades as the whole of the ship may potentially be designed around this cylindrical field. Therefore, other systems would take priority and this gravity system may end up never being replaced.

    Spirit Of Fire is probably the oldest UNSC ship still going and will give you one hell of a time if you engage in combat. The crew with that ship are a very powerful force. They have the brains and the strength to defend themselves. Atriox literally realized the Spirit Of Fire wasn't going to lose the battle on the Ark just because of their ability to not back down. He left them there because he knew he couldn't win against them. He didn't want to bother continuing to fight wasting troops and materials on them. He might have made a mistake because the Spirit Of Fire is the underdog of the UNSC. Everyone thinks the Spirit Of Fire is gone and destroyed but here they are fighting still 30 years later. That ship has one impressive service life.

    Please do a video breaking down UNSC SC-Infinity as you have broken down The Spirit of Fire, because as this video displays it I feel that The Spirit of Fire is logistically and strategically a far better choice as a fleet carrier (rather than a support vessel) then Infinity. Currently I am unaware of Infinity's ability to produce it's own supplies, along with the ability to offer service to it's supporting fleet. Giving thought to all of the hard docking ports throughout The Spirit of Fire's hull, and it's overall massive size, I would assume that docking several other UNSC warships to itself as a mobile fleet deployment unit wouldn't be out of the question. The idea of a Phoenix class vessel jumping with multiple Destroyer's, Light/ Heavy Cruisers, and Frigates docked to it's hull and being able to deploy these ships all over the Galaxy at any giving time is terrifying. To add that a Phoenix class vessel can then resupply, repair, or even rebuild all the ships in it's fleet as well as itself is far more of a statement of UNSC might, than the single Infinity jumping in and deploying it's 10 Frigates to later be backed up by a later arriving support fleet.
    Phoenix class vessels can literally act as deployable military installations and shipyards, offering planetary scale resource processing, manufacturing, construction, repair, rebuild, and resupply.

    The Spirit of fire is the perfect crew and ship to fight the banished because they know how to handle early covenant war fast blitz attacks tactics and they have a lot of experience fighting on a forerunner world. One of the first things they do is scout and then deploy and spread out their drops making it harder to pick them off one by one and then they go on a offensive when they’re being attack which is opposite of what is expected from UNSC tactics as a lot of them make conservative defensive plays and fast retreats.
    They also know that the banished plays their tactics like this so they use it to their advantage to lure in the carrier on the ark and make it look like they’re playing defensive while they deploy their spartan to infiltrate and destroy the carrier.

    And to think, so many people have never played Halo Wars, because they never even payed attention to its relevancy and uniqueness to the story of Halo itself.
    The Spirit of Fire beats any other ship in the UNSC Navy for me, hands down. Cutter, Serina, Anders, Forge, Isabel, Red Team, and the thousands of crew onboard honestly singlehandedly might’ve been one of the biggest deterrents to two massive catastrophes that could’ve happened if they weren’t in the right place at the right time. In HW1, sacrificing the slip-space drive to destroy an entire shield world and its navy, which, if activated, could’ve ended the Human-Covenant War, and also was the first major human force to wage an all-out war against the Banished. Obviously that war ain’t over, but it most definitely has been helped by The Spirit and her crew.
