    I have encountered the Victim, Gossiped, Complainer, Pessimist, etc BUT I have chosen to guard my space from all anything that does not positively influence my growth in this journey of life.

    Yes I last night a person I know she would be a couple of these at once. She is a complainer and also has a victim mentality and also a bit of manipulation in her in how she acts and comes across.
    But I am trying to cut her out of my life slowly. And when around her I use a strategy in stoic philosophy of semi detachment, and mirror with a positive or get her to try thinking a different perspective sometimes too.
    These videos are very helpful
    I've only begun my stoic life now for a week but in this week I feel so much better in my mind and mood and attitudes towards life in general so thank you again 😊

      Sounds like you've got a one-person Stoic Olympics going on there! Dealing with a complainer, a victim, and a master manipulator? That's some serious multitasking. Slowly cutting them out while maintaining Stoic semi-detachment deserves a gold medal. Keep mirroring that positivity and offering new perspectives - you're like the Zen master of life gymnastics! Here's to more weeks of feeling awesome and Stoic victories! 🏅🤸‍♂️

    valuable video and teaching. This describes many many people. Guess that's why they say: An honest man is 1 in a 1000 and You're lucky if you ever find 1 true friend. Makes for a small world.

    they are like a whirpool they suck you in their vortex of chaos.. "vortex of chaos" that may seem a good name for a metal band

    • @Stoicism.Everyday101
      @Stoicism.Everyday101  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your analogy of a 'vortex of chaos' is vivid, capturing the challenging dynamics some individuals bring into our lives. In Stoicism, recognizing external influences beyond our control is key. Naming challenges, like a 'vortex of chaos,' can indeed bring a sense of perspective. May your Stoic journey help navigate these whirlpools with resilience and inner calm. And yes, 'Vortex of Chaos' does have a certain metal band ring to it! 🌪️🤘

    The toxic positivist or being pessimistic they are self centre ppl only , they really not care about other ppl feeling

    • @Stoicism.Everyday101
      @Stoicism.Everyday101  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Indeed, the Stoic perspective values rationality and virtuous behavior. Balancing optimism without denying reality and approaching challenges with resilience fosters a more mindful and compassionate approach to others. Let us strive for a Stoic equilibrium in our interactions. 🌿🤝

    How do you stay away from a toxic positivist and be happy within no matter what? Isn't that the same thing?

    • @Stoicism.Everyday101
      @Stoicism.Everyday101  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In navigating relationships, especially with a toxic positivist, Stoicism suggests maintaining inner tranquility. It involves recognizing what we can control, choosing virtue, and fostering resilience in the face of external circumstances. Striving for happiness within is distinct from toxic positivity-it's about cultivating genuine contentment grounded in wisdom and virtue. May your journey be one of steady serenity and growth. If you have further insights or questions, feel free to share.

      Seems like a lot of stoicism might be summed up with 'trust your gut

    • @Stoicism.Everyday101
      @Stoicism.Everyday101  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Certainly, @@RyanNelly
      Trusting your intuition aligns with Stoicism's emphasis on rationality. Stoicism encourages a deliberate examination of situations, assessing them objectively. When dealing with a toxic positivist, applying Stoic principles involves understanding our reactions, evaluating toxic influences, and maintaining inner tranquility through reasoned responses. It's not about blind positivity but a thoughtful and rational approach to challenges.

    Yes, but why does the statue have double nipples though? Not complaining; I am just curious all the time.

      Haha, the artist must have been inspired by ancient mythology and avant-garde fashion! As for the double nipples, it's all in the name of artistic AI expression. Our virtual sculptor got a bit creative. Modern art, right? 🤷‍♂️🎨
