    Best review ever especially the armrest, im used to sitting with chair tucked however my new desk is to low to tuck which is really confusing. I have to change my desk or choose to leaning forward.😅
    Also anyone below 170 isnt capable to Marcus. Its true the Cushion is most reason people have it.❤

    I have a 13 y/o Markus chair, and apart from the ruined leather parts, it's still going strong. About tucking the chair under the desk, i actually just push it close enough so half my arm rests on the armrest, and i keep the keyboard close to the edge. The more expensive ikea chair, is crap. I've tried it at the store, and it's flimsy and has a short seat cushion.

  • @AndrewTSq
    @AndrewTSq 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I did not like the Järvfjället chair, so I went for the Markus. I also thought the Matchspel was a good fit for me. But as always with chairs, the best chair for me, might be the worst for someone else. The only seat near Markus, was the Millberget which my daughter thought was the best one (so she has one of those now) The best thing with Markus is also that it feels that it supports my back, and getting old its something I never thought of when I was young.

    My problem with it is, that the back support is a bit too light. If I lean against it just a little bit I „fall“ back so i have to stay in this limbo which makes my back muscles sore after a while. I could set it to the fixed setting but those heights aren’t really my fit

    I went from a "Millberget" (Visible at 4:52 in this video) to the Markus at home. I've used the Markus at work before and liked it. The Millberget is more comfortable in terms of cushioning but lacks neck support, and after about eight years with it I was noticing that the seat on it was tilting slightly to the right and it was getting taxing on my lower back as well. This is my first day at home with the Markus and I do feel a difference in lumbar support which I hope will solve my lower back tension, (knock on wood). I got it pretty cheap at a sale and the warranty is really good.
    I also want to mention that the fake leather on the Millberget started peeling after maybe 2-3 years of regular use, so I'm really glad that the Markus has durable cloth instead. One should always try a chair out before buying, though.

    Just set up mine and the back side is leaning to the left. Seems like a manufacturing error because it's just the upper side of the chair. I'm sure I did everything correctly. Not very happy.

  • @krzysztof_puchta

    It's pretty good, especially given the low price tag. But for me the biggest drawback is the headrest: the pillow sticks out so much that you have to have your head constantly bowed. Both the headrest and, to lesser degree, the back profile are enticing hunching. And the wheels... I don't know who anybody can praise them, really bad quality and will scratch the floor as they are designed for soft surfaces. But that's not a huge deal: you can replace the wheels with the other ones pretty cheap.

  • @johnnywong2583
    @johnnywong2583 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    The curved armrest is a deal breaker for me. Oh and there is literally no support for the upper back if you want to sit straight, as demonstrated in this video.

    👎Five years ago, I purchased an office chair, Markus 22121. Now the chair's wheels no longer roll properly and are scratching the floor.
    I was refused a warranty at my local store. IKEA warranty not working.

    Bruh, if your chair can't fit under the table then either the table is too low or the chair is too high. Might also be both. My chair has armrests that are about 20cm and the chair fits under the table no problem.

    So there's two reviews and none of them answers the round handle underneath which regulates the angle of the sit as far as i can tell.

    • @NirvzHD
      @NirvzHD ปีที่แล้ว

      the round handle tightens and loosens the resistance of the backrest. The higher resistance = more springy feeling when you lean back

  • @JordanAppleby

    Had this chair for around 2 years now, the only thing I’ve hated is the none adjustable lumbar support which really hurt my back after a while.
    However a couple months ago I realised you can remove it, unzip the bottom of the back and you can unzip the lumbar and remove it, which has made the back so much more comfortable

    • @kevnalysis
      @kevnalysis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, i haven't seen a Markus remake, i wouldn't bet on them investing in a newer version because this one's been doing really well since its release many years ago and still a best seller. The JÄRVFJÄLLET is their newer model and the one most like the Markus (I kind of think of it as a newer Markus) so i think they're more likely to take risks and pivot around with that one. If there is an update i'll be sure to cover it here.

    • @locklear308
      @locklear308 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevnalysis I was hopeful as the Markus to me is ALMOST...perfect... If it just had a thicker seat cushion, an adjustable lumbar and adjustable/normal arm rests it would be perfect!

    I don´t know why people keep bringing up the feature that you can´t tuck the chair under the desk. Well, that´s the whole point of the arm rests.
    It´s just fixating on a problem that doesn´t really exist. If you´re going to tuck the whole chair under the desk, the point of arm rests become pointless in the first place.

    • @kevnalysis
      @kevnalysis  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    ALL gaming chairs rattle around like broken toys, ALL OF THEM. Please believe this, please go to any store and try them, they are garbage, no matter the manufacturer. I STRONGLY advice you against buying one. If you really really want one for the looks, get Secret Labs / Noblechairs, those are the most "quality" ones, albeit being the exact same chairs with only minor changes, but they also have decent customer support and you will maybe get replacement parts for free if necessary. Just know, they are going to break inconveniently fast.
    Get a Markus if it fits you. I sit cross-legged a lot, so those armrests dig into my thighs. I noticed that both Markus and Järvfjället are made for taller people, I am 178cm and especially with the latter, I should have 5-10cm more. The headrest and back support on that chair are both ideal for taller people. Markus is still fine if you're shorter, and OK with the headrest being on the back of your skull, not the neck.
    Markus is softer and the back support is also softer, although it feels like it still supports very well. Järvfjället has a more firm seat, with less padding, and a more firm back support, that is also adjustable. It felt a little over-powering to me personally, but I imagine someone who needs the support, would get it with this chair. The lowest setting seems a bit too high for me, again, at 178cm, so beware. The headrest is adjustable too, but at the very lowest adjustment level, it's at the same level as Markus' headrest.
    Markus has the better reclining function, it's extremely comfy!
    Järvfjället doesn't really tilt the seat with the backrest, so it's not that comfortable.
    I myself just got myself another Millberget, I had one before and it only got destroyed by a weird smell, after 5-6 years. It's the cheapest _nice_ looking chair that fits into decor if you're stuck in a studio and don't want it to look like an office. Really, even the more "professional" chairs from "professional" retailers are TERRIBLE, near and above this price range. This is a comfy chair with enough support for everything, at 129€ it's a steal!
    Man, IKEA to the rescue again, I fucking love IKEA.

    Full of polyester for 200 bucks? They can sell chewed gum instead.
    Don't get me wrong, its a comfortable chair, but the material choice on the sitting surface/filling sucks.
    Use real fabric damn it. I do not care about green capitalism or sustaINABILITY.
    Any alternatives like this with cotton is welcome.
