The Process
---------------------
We start by taking a brief look at the history of Cap'n Crunch. Now that we understand our brand, we begin with the logo design. We'll create some custom typography and illustration for the logo. Then we layout our content on our packaging mock-up, and add some digital elements to spruce things up to get a final product!

I didn't think I'd learn about Captain Crunch in a redesign video because I never knew he had any background lore. This redesign looks amazing! I think making the cereal not in a bowl actually also helped because it makes it look like a pile of coins or loot and keeps the cereal tied in to the design!

But i think that's what really seperates good designers from mediocre ones.
You always should focus on the background story, the feelings etc. That need to be conveyed.
He does an exceptionally good job with his designs/videos.

I never usually comment anywhere specialy in a youtube video but I just started working in graphic design industry for over a year, i seen a lot of tutorials, lot of designs, still learning new things, compositions, fonts, and design overall, but this is just pure perfection, everything is well explained, perfectly constructed and with that smooth voice, it psychologicaly helps me to understand better the idea behind the design. This is the best graphic design channel i found in 2 years of university, and 1 year of working. You're talented and very underrated.

i’ve been watching a lot of your redesign videos lately, and time and time again you never cease to amaze me! the amount of effort and detail and care you put into the things you create is always so noticeable, and i think you’re doing great!
Idk why arent all brands fighting over each other to have this guy on their team. The amount of bland and mediocre logos and designs we got from the "simplification of logos" that happened in the mid 2010s is crazy. Brandon is able to add detail and character to his designs without making them look too polluted. Amazing work.

Excellent content as always, very interesting approah and I have to say it's the same way i'd have re-designed the cereal. Would love to see your take on re-designing it the other way around... i.e taking a serios product and turning it into a kid's product. Also I'd love a design tutorial on how you would re-create/re-design an 80's classic title card/logo like Thundercats , Transformers or He-man Masters Of The Universe.

Ngl this is one of the few redesigns based off of modern design trends that is still appealing to me. Simple, but without sacrificing much personality or character.
Incredible production man, I followed your growth and you rock, sir. If you would create a course or patreon with more videos I would pay to subscribe and learn more. For example more details on how to properly add highlights, principles on how to create that captain logo etc. Anyway, greetings from Serbia and keep up. PS. Redesign series is an awesome idea.

You said you believed you stayed within all the rules.
I feel I have to point out that a lot of the rules are about properly displaying the fill list of ingredients (typically on the back) along with the full list of ALL the legally required nutrients in the same visual field near those ingredients in a font that exceeds the minimum size. Also, there are rules against calling something non-GMO when there are literally no GMO options available (so keep that in mind).
Finally, it's necessary to point out that although oats themselves do not have gluten, they're often grown close to gluten-containing grains or processed in factories that have gluten, which can cause cross-contamination which would make the gluten-free sign not a legal option.
Apart from the points I mentioned earlier, I like this design a lot. It actually puts a lot of real adults cereals to shame when it comes to their design choices.
