      @@LukeSherran it's still going well so far thanks mate. Managing 3-4 strength training sessions a week, sometimes an extra workout here and there. I'm pretty much dividing the sessions between push/pull/lift but adding a few exercises added in. Im going to increase my HIIT workouts from tomorrow.

    Really great video man. I also looked at the mirafit equipment and I think it is probably the best value for money equipment in the UK for a home setup.
    Love the black walls. I only have a single garage gym which is typically tiny like most standard UK garages so to create the illusion of space have had to go White all over with decently bright daylight led strips. I just think black would have made it feel way to small unfortunately but if I had more space would definitely have gone black.
    Great result on the batman artwork as well. I had been trying to figure out how I could do something like that and was looking at posters and getting a custom stencil but using a projected is a stroke of genius! Definitely giving that a go man!
    Hope you are absolutely loving your new gym!

      @LukeSherran  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can get very cold. The air isn't the problem, it's the metal barbells/dumbbells. I bought a wireless electric heater from Amazon that helps take the edge off. I can turn it on from my phone, so having it on the highest settings for 15-30 mins before you workout can really help

    The amount of dumbbells are completely unnecessary unless you're rich. A powerblock or a pair of adjustable weight dumbbells is sufficient for any home gym.

    • @LukeSherran
      @LukeSherran  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm certainly not rich, and although the dumbbells felt like an extravagance at the time, they're so much better than adjustable dumbbells. I used adjustable dumbbells for years, and the hex dumbbells are much more balanced and durable.

    A great job! You're lucky to be in a country where prices are fair for something as essential as training equipments...in Italy you'll pay two or three times more for less...I did half my equipment by myself (bars and wight plates excluded of course) for that, you got fewer valuable options to buy! Hope Mirafit will sell there with comparable prices in € they got so much choice for professionals of every sport (powerlifting, strongman, bodybuilding) other than that, the only "complain" may be the ceiling height but you did an excellent job with your hands for how your garage gym looks now, maybe a second speciality bar and some cast iron plates can complete everything for the future, i suggest you an axle bar (good for every presses variations and to make deadlift tougher) or a ssb just to rise squat effort (if your not training specifically for a powerlifting meet) [Sorry for my bad English anyway] 💪🏻😅

    What lighting did you use apart from the led light in the ceiling please

    • @LukeSherran
      @LukeSherran  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just a single, standard ceiling bulb. I picked one that had a cooler light - 5600K - which looked better than the typical warmer/yellow light.

      @musiclessonsbynxd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LukeSherran thank you. So for recording tutorial videos, would we need a huge softbox and the like? Or would 1 single bulb do the trick?

    • @LukeSherran
      @LukeSherran  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh for filming where I'm talking to camera, I had the LED lights on and the ceiling light. Plus I had an Amaran 100d with light dome in front of me with a LED flat panel light behind me. This was the first video I did in the new setup, so some of the highlights are a bit much, but it gets better with practice on my later videos!

    How is the leg extension bench 6 months on?

    • @LukeSherran
      @LukeSherran  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's ok. I have to tighten the bolts every couple of months. It's definitely not perfect. In the future I may reinvest in a better one, but I could probably make do for a few years

    Are you able to bench press inside the rack? I have been looking at the m100/m200 but I’m worried that the bar on the floor at the back of the racks will stop me from positioning my bench adequately

      Hi I have m200 and bench no bother. I have the mirafit m250 adjustable bench. M200 is a good rack but if I was buying now I would save up for the M4. The hole spacing and extra accessories available I think make it worth it

    Buy used. Gym equipment prices have drastically dropped since lock downs. Used equipment Most go for pennies on dollar or at least half of new.
