I recently bought a 24 Grom and installed the Chimera plate with Woodcraft clip ons, VERY similar to yours, and what I did to locate the hole to drill in the bars was to measure the hole on the oe handle bar and transfer it to the new clip on. Becareful though, each side hole is in a different lication so I did each side at a time. When I installed the grips, i used rubbing alcohol. Best lubricant there is and dries completely leaving the grips pefectly installed. No soap or other lubricant needed. I promise you this is the ticket. Once installed, let the bike sit for 24 hrs and it was perfect. ;).

I ordered the Chimera FC clip on handle with woodcraft black 7/8" clip on with 2" rise. Good video for reference. 👍 im not going to flush mine like you did. I'll have about 1.5" protruding the other side.
