I previously had the 2017 base model diesel santa fe and now have just got the 2022 base model. I consider the 2017 model a better vehicle for a few reasons. The 2022 has dropped the auto side mirrors and has no compartment for sunglasses. Also i find the new infotainment system far inferior to 2017. The screen is frankly a pain to use, selecting a radio station - try selecting manual FM tuning when driving is highly distracting. The system used in the 2017 base model was in my view, far , far easier to use, far less complicated and safer. For the other aspects of diesel motor, seating, transmission, these remain excellent.
