Agree 100% with the conclusion of the video. One of the main reasons I chose to go with the Santa Fe (USA model) was because we felt we were getting better performance and features for the price than the Sorento. Even though the styling of the Sorento was more appealing.
I believe that the Hyundai is more towards global design while Sorento is going for a more US design but overall in my opinion the Hyundai is the one to go because it is more ergonomic, it doesn't have the glossy black and it is a little bit faster. It will be very interesting if Hyundai will come with a fresh new badge design.
I may be looking to sell my 22 kia Sorento s hybrid AWD shortly if anyone is interested. The only catch is you will have to meet me at the dealership I originally purchased it from so they can do an in and out transaction so I don't lose my stupid tax money.
While you describe the 2022 Santa Fe as just a “facelift” there were far too many changes, including dramatic interior changes, that make it feel like a new model over the 2019/2020 models.
They are both beautiful SUVs. Kia Seronto I love that gear shift. Whereas the Hyundai Santa Fe the exterior body is very well designed. I am choosing 🤔🤔🤔 Hyundai Santa Fe.
We just picked up our 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe SEL with 2.5L engine. We Love it. We’ve had the Explorer, FJ Cruiser, a KIA Sorento, and now the Hyundai. The Hyundai is by far the best of all. We test drove the Mitsubishi Outlander which was pretty in a jewel like way but the Hyundai is tops. My hats off to the Koreans at Hyundai on bringing a well mannered yet affordable luxury SUV to the masses. Ole Gearhead.
I really enjoyed the competition video, and was surprised that the Hyundai came out on top more often than not. In my neck of the woods, there are no Santa Fe's to be had - they have already been scooped up.
What's up my Korean brother! Merry Christmas to you and your family. I just bought a used Hyundai Santa Fe last month. And I love it. It is the 2018 Santa Fe ultimate with a turbo.
Currently still own a 2017 Santa Fe Sport. Still very happy with it and plan to stick with it for many more years. cant wait to see what Kia and Hyundai does in the future.
Both Santa Fe & Sorento are great vehicles ! Sorento has amber/orange rear turn signal intergrated into regular taillight assembly, Santa Fe rear turn signal down low and red - win for Sorento as more visible & safer rear turn signal placement ! Prefer Sorento interior over Santa Fe. Both exteriors are good. Much would depend on how they drive ... Both will continue to do well in marketplace ! Slainte' ! Cheers !
As much as I like the hyundai better, I think the review was biased on the KIA. Got bashed on almost every area plus the facial expressions when reviewing the KIA
I test drove a Kia Sorento PHEV and liked it, yet I found the seats a bit hard and didn't care for the black gloss dash and mostly touch buttons. I may wait for the Sante Fe which to me looks better inside and outside and has plenty of push buttons and knobs!.
I got the 2022 all wheel drive Santa Fe hybrid and I live in California didn’t know it came with 3 rows of seats I thought only the palisade came with 3 rows ? we love our Santa Fe
I've only seen like two of these Sorento's on the road. They no longer offer the the drivers side thigh extender, hood struts, and other features offered in previous top trims.
Kia always no forget history of kia first SUV Sportage when Hyundai no have nothing and thanks to kia Hyundai grow fast when buy Kia and I only can accept n performance still kia proof from optima and stinger all world know stock car what can do or if tuned is killer machine that level category Hyundai can't close that kia my favorite of both names is only kia.
I choose the Hyundai Santa Fe over the Kia Sorento. Their both are pretty much identical but what made me went with Hyundai was Hyundai offers a really good warranty and features for a fair price.
I love the interior of the Sante Fe but the exterior if the Sorento. Since I spend most of my time inside the car, instead of looking at it from the inside, I would choose the Sante Fe.
I have the latest Santa Fe 2.2 diesel limited, by far the most outstanding vehicle I have ever owned and I absolutely love it, very nice to drive and they have great features. Looking forward to seeing what the hybrid version is going to be like in NZ.
Excellent videos as always, shame you can't review our uk model as we don't have that silly singular exhaust like some u.s models do or that nasty tan interior.we get a luxury pack adding light grey nappa leather which I went for when my ordered car.Arrives end of February I HOPE for our new march "23" registration.ordered a year in advance
Greetings from Turkey. Got a question... What do you tjink about 1.6L hybrid motors which both Kia and Hyundai use. Do you think this engine would take you long life or need change around 100k km
Trunk size might be the same but the opening (very important for loading/unloading) is not. The Sorento is much wider. I also like the more masculine line of the Sorento. I also easily prefer the Sorento wireless charging since I have a large 6.9" flagship phone -- with a case. It would never fit in that small slot in the Santa Fe's.
In my country Kia launched sorento with older shape which looks confusing more of mpv then suv looks despite offering great value 3.5 litre v6 at almost affordable price the car is flop
Greetings from Botswana I absolutely love your channel, great editing and cinematography in every video. My only complaint is that you don't review a lot of trucks it would be nice to see you make an off road video.
I definitely like the Kia more but both are basically copy’s of each other and comes down to what type of looks you like, and of course availability on lots
Just FYI: Santa Fe diesel is no longer available in EU (at least in Poland). I'm waiting for my Sorento 2.2D, it should arrive at the end of November (ordered on beg. of February)
@@AsianPetrolhead we don't get the option of FWD on the Tucson hybrid in the states, so I guess there's that caveat to mention, too. And any idea on the speeds?
Thank you for the review. Could you explain the "EV" driving mode? Can you drive the SUV in Full EV (full electric) mode on a highway? (The vehicles you tested are both Hybrid models, did I understand right? Not the "Plug-In Hybrid" models...
Yes, you can, but like I told you there isn't any EV button for Santa Fe and Sorento, so the car will choose when to go EV and it works even on highway driving situation, too.
I prefer #Kia #Serento which its design language steal my heart. Lately I noticed that Korean and Chinese products design getting better and better than #Japanese #automakers

Both vehicles are winners to me. It's like having to choose between your left and right arm. Any owner would be fortunate to own either vehicle. A win-win situation, Ravi Peiris M.D.
I like the interior of the Kia Sorento much more. Especially the two tone steering wheel make a huge difference. The ventilation in the dashboard of the Santa Fe is identical to the one from the previous model and is outright ugly in my opinion. However, it still would be a tough decision between the two because the Hyundai seems to be the better car overall. And it's incredible how both cars go with only a 1.6L engine and how seamless the transition between gasoline and electric propulsion is. Impressive pieces of technology both makes.
Hyundai has typically gone the route of making their vehicles with a luxury feel and KIA does sporty. From these 2, I would choose the Santa Fe as it has a quieter cabin and the look isn’t that bad. I would go plug-in hybrid though.
Well I enjoyed the video. It was very nice and quiet. I actually traded my Kona N for a quiet ride and technology. I bought the Hyundai Santa Fe plug-in hybrid.
I just don’t get why the US doesn’t have the Hybrid calligraphy Santa Fe. Highest Hybrid we get is the Limited, which is missing some of my favorite features.
In the US Santa Fe doesn't come with 3rd row. I drove both hybrid Sorento and hybrid Santa Fe. I found that massive center console to be very intrusive into the driver's space. I am 6'1" 240 lbs and I greatly enjoyed the test drive in the Sorento, while I felt cramped in the Santa Fe, my knees had no where to go. The acceleration on the Sorento was better but may be because it had more miles and possibly was more broken in. I also think the Sorento is MUCH more attractive, and I found myself admiring it everytime I walked up to it, where as with the Santa Fe it just felt like walking up to a plain car.
That Kia is total junk My friend bought one last year and the things started using a quart and a half of oil between oil changes and they called that normal
