How 3M Convinced Me the Forever Chemicals I Found in Human Blood Were Safe

- Decades ago, Kris Hansen showed 3M that its PFAS chemicals were in people’s bodies. Her bosses halted her work. As the EPA now forces the removal of the chemicals from drinking water, she wrestles with the secrets that 3M kept from her and the world.

Colorado announced today that they're banning the use and sale of anything containing PFAS in their state.
I'm hoping the other states do the same.
ANYTHING? Because at this point, that's everything consumable.
So strange it is up to each state in the usa...
We got many issues with PFOS in Denmark unfortunately, these things is what happends when big rich companies carelessly tries to make even more money without any concerns of our shared world...
They poisoned all the water in the twincities mn and surrounding erea. And lied about it for years . All my people are dead or dying.
It doesn’t matter. Everyone in Colorado has already accepted it into their bodies.
Colorado would need to ban all plastics, silver nitrate and nickel cadmium from being spread into the air everyone there breathes.
Micro plastics are released from all recycled plastics, crumpling a grocery bag, touching the bags and even new bottled waters have it within them.
Colorado simply is spitting in an ocean .
A state where late abortions are legal. Shame on Colorado 😔
They're rich, they'll face zero consequences like they always do.
Being rich isn’t the problem. It’s corrupt politicians, judges, etc that are willing to be paid off to turn a blind eye.
Except cancer if what she says is true…
Revolution when?
How about instead instead of just being defeated and letting them do whatever they want, we get mad and try to make a difference? And before anyone says "Well what are you doing to make a difference? Hurr durr" How does that affect what *you're* doing? Literally every comment will say that. Why does it matter? I'm not going to tell you. FUCKING DO SOMETHING YOURSELF.

I'm a combat medic veteran and a doctor. My airway was burned by hydrazine. F16 jet fuel. Invisible. When you smell, it it's too late. Just like camp lejuene and agent orange, it was not studied until too many veterans and active duty developed pattern symptoms. I understand how you feel
This is heartbreaking. I hope you are living a good life despite this poisonous exposure.
We were propagandised about orange in the eighties and thought it only applied to Vietnam.
I knew it was LRRP's and ground aircrew that were most affected on the US side.
I noticed parallels - my parents couldn't have any more children, my mum died young from cancer, I was born with a congenital defect not shown in my medical history, my dad served 2 tours in long-range recon during the Malayan Emergency (south central Asia) in which Britain used weaponised dioxins on an industrial scale during the Truman administration under Churchill (con) and Attlee (lab) 1948-1960 causing millions of birth defects in Laos and Malaysia, according to Google/Wikipedia but not according to any British politician ever.
Hydrazine F16 jet fuel? Hydrazine is a hypergolic rocket fuel, used in aerospace industry with utmost precautions, not a jet fuel and doubt it is used for anything on F-16, or any other aircraft for that matter...
@@OYeahanHydrazine is used on the f16 apu. As a backup power generator to power flight systems in the event of engine failure. Which is more common that you might think because the f16 consumes a lot of fuel and has small fuel tanks.
@@lobsterbark "it was not studied until (...) developed symptoms" - that seems strange, I would need to check but seems quite safe to assume that hydrazine was used in aerospace likely since '50s and it was quite obvious back then that it is extremely toxic. Hydrazine APU in case jet runs out of fuel? For what, for ejection seat power :D? Unless you're lucky to run out on high altitude then not likely to glide land a fighter jet haha. But interesting, need to check. Why would they decide to use hydrazine instead of regular APU or batteries is strange. Maybe to give you a chance to restart the engine, and hydrazine APU is more reliable and lighter and maybe cheaper... Still stupid, toxic stuff in potential wartime conditions
What's even more frightening is that people think this was accidental.

"Better living through chemistry." That was the mantra of the 60s! Now we know the horrible truth. AND the reason that so many people die from cancer.
PFOS and PFAS, “Forever Chemicals,” were in the firefighting foam in the 1970’s. This foam was used at Wurtsmith Air Force Base, MI and hundreds of other military bases and Naval ships around the world. The firefighters would set a fuel fire in a field on base and train their personnel on use of the foam to extinguish the hard to put out fires. The foam was then washed away and went into the groundwater. This was where the base, and the community got their water, from the underground aquifer. Millions of people, just in the area of Oscoda, MI, and probably billions worldwide, were slowly poisoned by these chemicals.

So much plastic ids in the average human body that theres evidence it controbuted to slowing decomposition when you die and forensic scientists are trying to develop ways to locate bodies by the plastic compounds left behind when a body is moved. @@jamesbarbour8400I mean, that's what the military does. It should always be a red flag if a place is very interested in getting kids straight out of high school.
Thanks for your efforts!!! Knowing is a cornerstone to solving all the many issues we encounter!!
I was an elementary student in the late 60's/early 70's and distinctly remember the educational videos about plastic and how harmless and beneficial and environmentally friendly it was supposed to be. :/
“3M, why don’t you have a seat right there”
Damn you beat me to it lmao 😂

"It says here in the chat logs..."
I literally came here to leave this comment!
3M- "I was just coming here to make sure they knew forever chemicals were dangerous. I wasn't going to give them any."
She just needed to ask 3M to take a seat right over there and they would've been done for.
This was the comment I was looking for.
I dont get it.
@@jimberlygridder1833m is mostly famous for adhesives and superglues etc. I think it’s a reference to them getting glued to the chairs.

Thank you for sharing this. Hindsight Is always 2020. But now you are doing your part to help correct this.
What an evil world we live in.
Your teaching is exponential, it will form part of the bases of knowledge building and human understanding far into the future. You will not personally gain from this but humanity will. Take balm from that and continue your uploads. We need you, Thankyou xxx
Did you use chat GPT to write that comment? lol
Repent and know Jesus everyone. We all face death .Young or old
The receipts we hand you at the cash register… 3m
Yes. I saw a report that warned; the non-ink heat printing chemicals on these receipts are highly toxic and easilly absorbed through skin. Advised; decline those receipts or/and don't touch/ handle as little as possible.
Thank you for your good work and bless you for your honesty!
Thank you so much for sharing ❤🙏 sending love and healing
I live in the area in MN that is now full of these chemicals. We can't eat the fish and our water is sus.
My father retired from the Decatur, Alabama plant on the Tennessee River. He told some stories... he was head of maintenance over both the chemical and film buildings.
Whoa was thrown off there but still Kris Hansen is exposing predators.
Posting something like this is how you end up dead.
Thats why we dont use teflon anymore
I remember this now everything is coated in it like pans and teflon
Clothing, fabrics, furniture, outdoor gear, etc etc etc.
These chemical companies got off super easy relative to the destruction and harm they have caused
I always think of that scene in "THE Graduate." "Plastics"
