I recently acquired the Terror Stamp, and it's really quite impressive! Last week I used it to push a Marshall 1960A 4x12" to record a 3 song demo, and the tones are stellar! It's surprisingly loud, and the shape knob is amazing and versatile! It can also be used as a preamp by using effects send to the front of another amp (I have a Marshall Origin 50) and the stacked tones of Orange+Marshall are exactly the flavor I've been looking for. For the price, the Terror Stamp is a must have. I have lots of gear, but nothing else is this portable and delivers like the Terror Stamp. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the British voice of Rock and Metal.

The Micro Terror has a bump in the 900Hz to 1Hz area when compared to the other two, and that would make it cut through a band better in a live setting. That gives it a Marshally vibe, and Marshalls cut through mixes for that very reason.

I have the micro dark terror, my first anything Orange gear wise and its THE best amp I own. If you have a lot of effect pedals upstream this amp is a must. While its not versatile as Vox or Fender...it will 100% carry the clean/heavy sounds a lot more. Solid demo showing how each model is different, my advice is if you have local effects and want a amp that can chug which at 8w is shockingly loud/smooth...BUY ORANGE! :)

Maybe the Micro Dark sounds the best on its own and its cleans sound great. But once you get the gain turned up, I think the Stamp and especially the Micro Terror will cut thru a band mix better. The Stamp is the most versatile and as someone else said, it's sort of a combination of the other 2. They all seem to have a "notch" at about 2 or 3 o'clock on the gain control range where there's a big jump in gain.

For anyone interested: I own and gig and rehearse with the Terror Stamp in a 3 piece blues band. I never have it turned up past halfway on the volume and 3 on the gain. It's easily loud enough to play with a full band BUT... you need to switch the tube out for a 12AU7. I changed mine for an expensive Mullard 12AU7 and I got waaaaay more volume and more clean tones before breakup. It makes the amp in my opinion so if you don't change the tube I think you're only getting about 50% out of the amp than is possible.

Personally I think I'd get the Micro Dark of all three, but the Terror Stamp sounds like a good pick as well. Very interesting video. It sounds like the Micro Dark has a different tone range. In this video it sound warmer and fatter more low-end, pretty tight. I have a Terror Stamp and it sounded initially very different than in this video, too much low mids and lack of clarity and sparkle. I think this was due to the cab I use (VOX 8inch). I however placed an EQ after the preamp in the effect loop, cut a bit of low mids, boost a bit the low end, cut the 1,4khz for the harshness, boost a bit the high end to have presence and sparkle. I ended up with a sound very close to the Micro Dark in this video, on both an ES 335 (Cherry dot) and a PRS (Standard 24). The tone knob is at 1 o'clock.

I’ve been using it this way, with the Plethora x5. Takes pedals very well.

i like the dark more than the others and wish if they just made a stomp version of it with a switchable Gain instead of switchable volume.

The Terror Stamp is actually a Micro Dark painted white. There's actually a video of Ade from Orange saying this.

Switchable gain and volume would have been super useful. Just one more knob dammit!

Surely just putting a gain pedal in front would give this?

@rorysstuff5129 yes, the terror stamp is definitely cool for a backup amp or a pedalboard amp. The price is very reasonable

Micro Dark Terror is compression city. Glad I went with the micro terror but it has no fx loop. I heard it's not so good anyway though.

Gotta say Im likin the pedal version. Would be easier to transport in the back of a speaker cab or inside a nice guitar case. Clean setup. Just need a reverb pedal

Dark, hands down. Better throughout the range of the tone knob. Better clean... Just Better!

Fortunate to own all 3, which I use into an Orange 1 x 12 cab. All 3 have very good clean tones(!). Stamp and Dark have slightly more gain, but a good overdrive will even that out for the Micro Terror. Not a huge fan of the "Shape" control-much prefer the MT's conventional tone control. The MT also lacks a loop, which after many years I am starting to realise is a very handy feature. The MT would be perfect for me (IMHO) if it had a loop, in which I would put a reverb and/or delay and a graphic EQ for greater tone control. At the end of the day you couldn't go far wrong with any of them-just that for me the MT's brighter tone gives it a slight edge over the bassier Stamp and Dark.
