I have been asked so much to compare these videos so I finally did and I actually ran them through my torpedo so I could have the best quality to show how similar they really are.
Nice demo. I'm a big fan of Orange tube amps, currently owning 4 of them. I will say these 3 new baby amps caught my attention. The size, ease of use and portability (I am getting old and moving gear constantly is wearing me down). Your video demonstration versus a rockerverb narrows the gap. Now to see which of the 3 is more me. Cheers.
The Rockerverb definitely sounds better. The Gain Baby sounds good for SS...but $600 is too much for it. I'd go about $350. The price of amps has gone insane over the past few years.
i definitely agree the market of guitars and amps are higher than i believe like the rockerverb should be $1800 again and not $2300 but that’s a political issue on its own
i wonder what the gain baby would sound like with a graphic eq or a treble booster in the fx loop (a trick i've used on the super crush). might need to pick one up and give it a try tbh!
Sounds good. I think bi amping a solid state bass amp with this may account for the low end perhaps even more than that. Can't really beat the rockerverb in totality though.
@@robinsutanto9880 the tight switch doesn’t do anything when the gain goes passed 6 on the gain baby, i’ve tried a few times to see if there is a difference in even a recorded tone and there truly isn’t but when you’re around 5-6 on the gain it does make the top end slightly crisper i also don’t really plan and doing shoot out videos. i wouldn’t even dial them up the same to get a similar sound and the 6505 having resonance control really can make that amp so beefy so fast. it just wouldn’t be the most fair comparison because i need to replace some caps and a couple pots on my 6505 to get it completely healthy again.
Sounds killer! Tempted to try one out with my Mesa 4x12. Does it sound good at super low volume? Nice volume taper or does it just jump up super loud? Also does the tight switch do a good job of really tightening the low end?

I’ve always preferred solid state distortion, it’s clear, focused, and pinch harmonics sound crystal clear, not like someone just shit themselves,,,and with todays solid state tech, there’s no need to drag anchor weighing amps around,,,it’s about time everyone is doing this, I’ve been waiting for over 30 years amp manufacturers to get on it!!! But that’s just me,,,it’s why I’ve been using BOSS multi effects boards since they came out, extreme high gain without the fizzy, spitty, nails on a chalk board, I just dumped a 5 gallon bucket of whale blubber on cement sound 😁 but that’s just me,,,

The tone of the Gain Baby dialed in at 10-0-3 is so mean, focused and aggressive! Love it!

If it sounds like rockerverb, then it will pass for my Rocker32.
Thank you for doing this video to a high, informative value.
Yo, that’s how I spell my first name too. Very rare to come across in the wild. Nice tones.
you’re literally the 2nd person i’ve come across that said this to me ever 🤘🏻
Sick tones, sounds extremely aggressive.
Perfect for smaller rooms I would imagine plus no hauling expensive tube amp to sketchy venues

Damn the gain baby is hard af. The verb sounds leaky like it’s leaking high end.
that’s what i mean by tube amps are more full sounding
they have less attack than solid states but they just have a more fluid sound to them too
The Rockerverb definitely sounds better.

The gain baby for me blows the rockerverb away, given its portable size and tighter low end
They sound 99.9% the same to me.

Awesome! Can't wait to check out this amp. Would you do another solid and compare it to the 6505+, with tight switch on the GB engaged?

Very noticeable difference with the Rockerverb sounding much better, but for half the money and easy of portability the gain baby still has value
