    This video just helped me install mine. I bought it at an estate sale ( maybe its haunted WEEEEEE ) and it came with no paperwork or install instructions.
    Thanks for posting!!

    Very helpful, especially the way the vent adapter/trap door sits.

    Really helpful and detailed enough to know what to anticipate as we replace an old model.

    Great video. I just installed my lg microwave. I was curious if it was necessary or recommended to block the charcoal filters since the ventilation is going outside and not back into the room. I didn't see anything in the instructions on the matter.

    Great video! Mine was installed by my contractor and it’s venting up and out of house fine but the charcoal blk filter which does the circulation assuming someone install without venting outdoor was pretty greasy. So is it normal for the charcoal filter to be dirty when it’s venting outdoor?

    My template is missing do you have the measurement of a bracket on the wall from the upper cabinet would really help me thank you.

      Whatever you can see in the video is what I have for reference... though you could probably Google search the manual and find what you're looking for

    One thought -The oven exhaust fan's short rectangular duct is not sealed against the cabinetry's exhaust duct system that you so nicely finished off & sealed to itself. You need to use aluminum duct tape to seal the air system otherwise air will leak into the wood cabinetry upper section I believe. So, must seal metal to metal always through the system. Confusing I know. Nice job on the video though!! Thank You!

    This doesn't come with a vent connector to blow the air outside. Shouldn't there be an adapter of some sort?

    Great video. Just curious - after almost a year of usage - how is it working out. Deciding to go with it

    Hi there. Are you sure that this is the correct way to install the damper and flap? I have one too but am wondering why it doesn’t go all the way up, seems as though the tabs are in the way. Is the airflow working fine the way you have it?

    • @DIYAroundTheHome
      @DIYAroundTheHome  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is working great, it comes on really strong especially at the highest settings.

    Was curious if you are experiencing grease splatter on the cabinets above the microwave? We smooth cabinets and after a week of use, you can see a ton of splatter all over them.

    • @DIYAroundTheHome
      @DIYAroundTheHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see grease though we also don't fry stuff or cook in a way on the range that would really create a whole lot either

    Be sure to bend the tabs to allow the baffle to fully open.

    • @DIYAroundTheHome
      @DIYAroundTheHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could definitely bend the three tabs a little bit to allow it to open a little more but one word of caution is to not bend the three tabs too much as the baffle will not fall back down when the air stops blowing.
      As a matter of fact I just looked back over the installation instructions and LG does not list anywhere in the installation steps that you should bend the tabs in the first place.

    We’re redoing our kitchen and have one of these microwaves coming soon (it’s currently on backorder). So this was helpful. One question, though: Do you think the cord would be long enough to install to a receptacle on the left side of the vent rather than the right? At the moment that’s where I have a receptacle. Putting one on the right would require running a new one all the way from the box. That would be a pain. But if it had to be done I’d much rather do it now than once the cabinets are in.

    • @DIYAroundTheHome
      @DIYAroundTheHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think you'll have a problem at all, the cord is actually pretty long, it's probably 2 to 3 ft long.

    How do you like the microwave so far ? Some reviews were saying the touchpad becomes unresponsive due to the cooking steam coming from below! I got a one on clearance from NEBRASKA That was missing a mounting bracket , hope all goes Well when time comes to install mine 😂

      Can you get an extended warranty on your purchase? Then you wouldn't need to worry.

    • @Wisdom7I

      @@DIYAroundTheHome If you buy microwave with a credit card that doubles the warranty, this would give you two years of protection.

    • @DIYAroundTheHome
      @DIYAroundTheHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that is the case with certain credit cards but I don't believe it is a case with all. Same thing is buying appliances with Costco, they double the manufacturer warranty no matter how you pay for it

    Hoe to use the LG microwave

  • @Skihist2
    @Skihist2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The one thing no one talks about in their videos that I’ve seen is what if your cabinets stick out further that the maximum which in my case is 13”. So it seems I have to put a 2x4 spacer or more at the back so the microwave will be forward enough so the microwave doors will open.

    • @DIYAroundTheHome
      @DIYAroundTheHome  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have a non-standard cabinet depth?

    • @Skihist2
      @Skihist2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIYAroundTheHome it’s IKEA and it is away from the wall already a bit because of the rails. Then there are side panels that stick out about 5/8” on each side. The doors on either side of those panels stick out 3/4” past the cabinet. So I’m almost 15” from the wall. The microwave has to be ahead of all that or the door will hit and not open.

    Thanks for the detailed video. Would you mind telling me what did you use to build that box? I have the exaxt same setup and a regular duct wont work.
    Thanks

    • @DIYAroundTheHome
      @DIYAroundTheHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The box was already there when I moved into the house from the previous installation of the original microwave. I would think if you went to Home Depot or Lowe's or whatever supply store you have and look for metal ductwork you could probably create something. Use metallic duct tape to seal the edges.

    Improper install of vent. This would not pass code at all. wow.

      Hope would your state/locale do it? It does seem to be very poor from a temp transfer standpoint. For example on really cold mornings the inside of my microwave feels cold
