Good call!! I totally suspected that! I’m an RN, and I’m a patient. As both, these drs that really like themselves are EASY TO SPOT!! As a patient, when I see this….FIRED!! I get another dr/ pa that isn’t! I understand that isn’t easy to do but it’s worth it in the end.
I work in the medical industry and yes, a lot (not all, some are great) of doctors are arrogant, greedy, egotistical ppl w/ terrible bedside manners. They come in and leave the pt's room typically in 1 min; you'd be lucky if they spend more than that. I've seen some intentionally run out of there before the pt or their relatives can ask a question.

Doctors don't perform surgery without authorization from an insurance company, Medicare, Medicaid; etc, plus your signature to be personally responsible for anything remaining that insurance doesn't cover.
@@johng4093 in Australia we have free medical cover subsided by our taxes. Unfortunately about 8 years ago I needed emergency surgery with 2 surgical teams. Throat and Abdominal. Then I had to spend 27 days in hospital. It didn't cost me a cent

Well it's fairly complicated, but just know this. It's a straight up SCAM of epic purportions!!! It involves large companies insurers being sued AFTER these surgeries take place and they never even remotely knew anything prior, there able to do so because of some New York law that mandates insurers pay up to 50k on every procedure regardless of the claim, network etc.... so these crooked doctors are getting these patients that need a 5 thousand dollar procedure, but instead to getting pre authorization, going through the process the normal and legitimate way??? They understand that the insurer will HAVE to cover anything up to 50k once they're sued for it etc... so instead of a 5k surgery. These crooked docs like her husband are turning that surgery into a 50k surgery knowing all the while they will pay that because the law requires it. Hard to explain here but hopefully that helps

I'm a gastro/intestinal surgeon. I'm quite appalled what Sunny's husband "allegedly" did. As a physician we all take an oath...to do no harm. Hostin's husband purportedly conducted "unnecessary" surgery. Ethical surgeons will conduct surgery when the medical options have been exhausted. Medical treatment...i.e., therapies, medication(s), diet, etc., is the route to always be taken. Hostin's husband is an orthopedist. What's happening today, is an orthopedist will say you need screws and plates. When it used to be a simple cast for 4-8 weeks would heal a broken bone. Indeed, technologies have advanced. But I would bet a decent percentage of orthopedic surgeries aren't necessary. A shame that the healthcare industry has be extremely monetized.
I'll go along with all you just stated. I went to a highly rated orthopedist center for a knee problem 17 years ago. They took an X-ray and within 15 minutes told me I had the knee of a 65 year old at my age of 50 at that time. Said I needed a knee replacement. I said NOPE, I'm not going to do that and walked out. 17 years later and using my brain to avoid making it worse than it needed to be, I've been playing golf (riding not walking) and doing all kinds of construction until recently when I retired. That included climbing 32' or more ladders. Now I probably should have it looked at, but as long as I'm smart and careful, I think all is fine for now. Point is they barely talked with me and gave me no other options and wanted to do surgery. Many people I know have done these replacements along with hip at that facility and yes they are very good at it, but how many actually needed it just yet?
I’m in the car accident realm as a provider, what a sick and greedy game. One surgeon that a “lawyer,” told the patient he needed to see came in and said. Mr. Smith based on your MRI’s we need to do a 2 level fusion at c4-c5, c5-6. Patient said, I haven’t had any MRI’s yet. I hadn’t ordered the MRI for the patient yet because the lawyer sent him to the surgeon and had it setup before I did the initial exam. (Which is all illegal mind you) MD straight faced said, that doesn’t change my opinion. 🤦♂️
No exam, no history, not even an in office Xray. (I took some but again, didn’t have time to transfer records over)
My dog broke her leg and they wanted to charge me $4500 for a surgery - $750 for the cast. I went with the cast and made her lay down for a few months, and guess what she’s fine!

I remember a doctor where we used to live. There was an oncologist with 5-6 offices. He was diagnosed those who actually didn't have cancer and performed treatments and surgery on them for insurance purposes. It's done all the time I'd suspect and nobody ever finds out.

Happens all the time. My friend was in a fender bender in a parking lot going about 1mph, no injuries and no damage on their cars. But she was sued for $500,000! The other lady went to 5 doctors until one would do surgery on her wrist. She eventually got $140,000 from insurance company for medical expenses. So many crooks out there!!

First off how are they clued in on all these doctors. I am thinking that an audit was done on health insurance companies.
That’s when maybe they noticed that certain doctors names were seen over and over again. Or are these doctors in a physician group that is owned by the big insurance coverage CO’s like UHC .
See they force doctors into debt by denying payment then act like the savior and buy their practices out.
They assure the doctors they can carry on as usual but after a year or two they start demanding certain things from them.
UHC OWNS LIKE 90,000 doctors ! Meaning their practices. Sometimes Drs. Are in a group. Ya know what I mean. So they. It the entire practice.
Many doctors throughout the country that this happened to walked, and retired when they started being approached to do unethical things in regard to their patients etc, coding, unnecessary testing, ( normally to older patients on Medicare Advantage, as it gets the insurance companies more money from the government as far as unnecessary testing) )
So what I am saying is this investigation has to have been going in for a while. I there was an audit , then O would think they would want to review each doctors records to see if they were red also committing fraud to their patients who did t need surgery. W hi much means Hipa laws come u ti okay, which means you would need a court order from a judge to access primal information on patients.
Sunny had t in have known her husband was being investigated when she made that statement because there is boat they investigated since that statement and were able to name him in this alleged crime. To much paperwork and investigating to be done .

Imagine performing unnecessary Surgeries?
Dr. Hoskins was a single practice physician in New York. This means that he had a set up his own office because he wasn’t accepted into the premium orthopedic practices in New York City. It is extremely rare to find a single practice orthopedic surgeon anymore because of the cost of malpractice insurance. I used to own a Nurse case management company that worked on behalf of self-insured employers in the Worker compensation world. These doctors are everywhere in the United States. They don’t care how the surgery goes and they will operate on anybody who has a body.
Especially spine surgeons !! They don’t care if the patient gets better because under worker compensation laws, these patients have to be compensated for the rest of their lives if they can’t work under a pension. I am very sure that the state of New York worker compensation department as well as all of the insurance companies have been onto this guy for many years. This didn’t happen overnight just to get back at sunny on the View. I guarantee you that when one of these workers was injured and filed a claim. The claims managers red flags went up and they tried whatever they could to stop Dr. Hopkins from doing the surgery. But under the New York laws, the patient could elect to get it done and some of these people will do it just to make sure they collect some form of compensation because they need the money. And then he will take them off work for months and years on end. They will collect money from a compensation claim as well as Dr. and Uber. This is only one of the reasons why American companies have difficulty surviving. This happens time and time again incorporations and municipalities. This is one of the reasons that manufacturing has been taken out of the country. These doctors need to be shut down. Trust me, Sunny Hoskins knew what her husband was up too because she was a prosecutor and she’s come across these situations many times.
