Not sure if you know yet but the modifier that's available on other markets is almost available here. I'm told it converts Enviro to a more axalta style application method. Wet coats over the top of each other into a wet bed. Also helps drying so you don't have to over reduce.
Every metallic paint job I always use a solid base color first then apply the metallic base. I find I get better coverage and use a lot less material. I watch your channel a lot. I think you work well.
Have you tried autothane clear over ppg water? Its so good to buff, goes on nice and is cheap. As a detailer its refreshing to hear a painter say they care about the whole job. Wicked painter man, love your work.
I sprayed PPG Shopline Nightmist Blue and the only way I could get it to lay out evenly is to basically mist it on about 10-12" away. Almost a dry spray.
Love this colour. Blueprint came out in 2002 on some of the AU falcons. I've got a 2002 AU Pursuit 250 in Blueprint. It was then used a lot on the BA falcon from 2003 onwards. Unfortunatly Ford had a lot of problems with the paint falling off the BA models.
@@TheGunmanChannel I believe Blueprint started on the Tickford cars in 2002 TS50, TE50 and Pursuit 250. Then extended to other models in 2003 I bought a P250 new in 2002 and it was definitley blueprint (the same as my current 2002 P250)

Unless I’m missing something your currently at a shop using PPG Envirobase. Can you do some videos on tips to increase production. My shop wants 4 booth cycles a day. We do all models and teslas. We spray so many dark blue and black cars here. 4-5 coats of coverage on some of these codes. And I’m putting it on so wet it’s on the verge of running. I push it as hard as I can. Our humidity is usually 70%+. I reduce 30%. I add 492. And going as hard as I can go. In early, no lunch. I can only get 3 a day. I go back and start on a 4th or come in at 5 to do so. And I’m over it. It’s RETARTED they have NO BLACK sealer. The clear is to soft. The sealer can’t be nibbed. I have to use 520 so the guys can build the cars that day or next and it dries in horribly in 2 days. The 530 looks better but soft as a catfish’s ass. What tips do you have for increasing productivity with this inferior product??

If i was younger id start tryna get into a panel place to do cars... but, i aint got that many years left to work😂
Arvo gun man. Wondering what you recommend for the diy guy who wants to hire a booth for a day and paint. I used to use protect 604 clear that was designed for non baking and forgiveness if i remember properly. Left a good orange peel and not super glossy to match a older car. For me the super glossy on older 80s bumpers and bits looks a little strange and you end up going the full resto route. Cheers and thanks for the great vids.
Most PPG clear doesn't hold much of a gloss, so perhaps start there (joking) But on a serious note I don't know man, most people want higher gloss so I haven't given much thought to lower gloss clears. Generally it's a sign of an average clear that doesn't hold a good gloss, on the other hand most waterborne basecoat causes gloss drop to a certain extent. But it's a terrible look I wouldn't want on my own car.
@@TheGunmanChannel fair points. I guess the biggest thing is forgiveness. What you'd you recommend there? Not being skilled to adjust to make work is not ideal. I like to set to specs and go. Cheers.

25-30°c it dries nice and fast but not too fast, once you get above 35~ it can start to create issues, an experienced painter should know how to overcome that with application, gun use, and materials though.

Nice paint job. Problem is, unless the roof has been removed and rust proofed the XD and XE do rust out in the corners sooner or later.
My brother is working on an XD ESP at the moment, and they have found that exact problem... up in the top of the c pillars... could be a roof off fix!
