@@halitosis75 Thank you. Iam really proud of it. Just sad to see Syria getting f*cked by everyone. I dont know why people have turned syria into this religious war zone. It has never been like this. People are so brainwashed by western media. I hope they will rebuild it. God damn it, there used to be trains from london and all over europe to travel to aleppo and damascus via turkey in the 1900s. Syrian people are well recognized by the west for their wonderful hospitality where, in my opinion, you just can't find anywhere else in the world.

I've watched this a few times now in an attempt to fully understand and verbalise why it impresses me so much. It isn't the obvious friendliness and sheer technical talent on display, even though both of those things are amazing in their own right. It's the lack of attempted exploitation of the customer, the assumption that certain elements of the service are expected and included. Like, the barber reflexively washes his hair near the end. Walk into nearly any Western European salon, and that's an additional upcharge right there. Here, it's unquestioningly accepted as part of the process of making the customer look and feel a million bucks when they leave the premises. There's a lot of heart and implicit love behind it, and I think it reminds those of us watching it how much the pursuit of endless profit and nickel-and-diming everyone in sight has leached the power of human kindness out of our everyday interactions. Much love to all ❤
Hair wash is always included in every salon I've been to in Sweden. Had a haircut in Germany once and same thing there, but it was a Middle Eastern barber so can't say for sure if it's a thing in Germany.
Cannot believe I just spent 18 minutes watching someone in a barbers chair. The barber is an artist at the top of his profession. My friend is a barber in the UK and I have seen how good he is, giving cut throat shaves and using hot towels afterwards, but this is on another level.

I remember when my mom used to take me there as a child, she'd hold my hand so tight because how crowded that place used to be; when she couldn't hold our hands for whatever reason, we'd hold onto her clothes, but even then we still lost her multiple times in the crowd. However when that happened we'd just go to the mosque at the end of the street and wait for her there, and she'd appear in 5-10 minutes to pick us up. Life was simpler back then, i hope we can return someday.

I worked in Syria 🇸🇾 in 2009 and my office was in Damascus, I’m 100% positive I got my hair cut in that exact same place. It still brakes my heart when I think about that beautiful country.
Bernard Henry Levy will have to answer for his war crimes against such a beautiful country, people, history. As one of the international mafia leaders he managed to corrupt government officials and to convince France to get involved in a war that has no justification whatsoever, and where French people NEVER agreed nor approved this tragedy.... Very sad indeed
Love Syria, travelled there in 2003. Have been to 57 countries and it the best, wonderful history culture and the people are truly beautiful inside and out❤❤❤❤❤
This is Middle Eastern hospitality and artistry at its finest. As a first generation American with roots from Syria...I enjoyed every minute of it (from start to finish)...and laughed a whole bunch along the way. Never seen a Westerner as scared and excited at the same time. This was they truly mean when they say your barber/stylist is also your therapist (in more than one way). Great video! :)
That man takes his craft very seriously. I have a lot of respect for that. He did a fantastic job, and did not want to let him leave without giving him a great experience and without him looking up to his standard, so that his haircut could do the advertising for his shop in itself.
Middle Eastern barbers are the best. My barber in the US is Iraqi and his work is similar to this. Their attention to detail and level of service is superb. Quite frankly, these guys should be running the barbering schools in Western countries.

Hey Yves, my dad used to be a barber enlisted with the Legionnaires in Syria during WW2 around Hasakeh, Kamishli and Jezireh area. He used to shave all the high commanding officers and once he had the honor of shaving General Henri Gouraud. This barber you went to reminds me very so much of the way my dad used to shave his customers after the war when he moved with my mother to Beirut Lebanon.

Thank you so much for this video it filled my heart with love
While I was in the Army I got hair cuts in W. Germany, W. Berlin, Korea, Japan and of course on bases all over the U.S. The best ones were the ones I got over seas. You get a cut to Army standards, a excellent shave, mustache trim, eye brows and ears trimmed and waxed. There were manicures, back massages and a final application of cologne before they popped your shoulders. If you were in uniform they'd polish your boots to an unbelievable shine even if they were you field boots that have taken a beating. Now, decades later, I get a cut once every 3 weeks sadly it's just a trim that costs $25. This video was a pleasant memory. Thank you.

I remember having Turkish barbers on base in Iraq back in the aughts. $5 was the cost of exactly this treatment. They offered cupping as well for an additional $2. I never left that place without spending at least $50 because how could you not tip on something that fucking amazing. It was a nice reprieve from war stuff.
In turkey this treatment cisted me and my brother 40$ each (average salary in turkey is 400$). The price advised outside was just 4$ and after the cut at checkout we found the surprise (he became aggressive and insisted it was a good price). Won't ever go to turkey again. Basically everybody there is a scammer waiting to rip off the next tourist. thee barber legit made me want to fight him.

This was more than a haircut - It was a haircut, massage, chiropractor, mood lifter. If this was in America this would cost about $400 and people would pay it in Los Angeles. I felt tired and relaxed just watching him. I bet it felt SO good. A barber is different than a stylist. There's just something old fashioned and familiar about it. Great video. Wo would've ever thought watching someone getting a haircut would be so nice.
And all that for may be 20 $

@@halitosis75 Thank you. Iam really proud of it. Just sad to see Syria getting f*cked by everyone. I dont know why people have turned syria into this religious war zone. It has never been like this. People are so brainwashed by western media. I hope they will rebuild it. God damn it, there used to be trains from london and all over europe to travel to aleppo and damascus via turkey in the 1900s.

Im live in allepo
I remember when my mom used to take me there as a child, she'd hold my hand so tight because how crowded that place used to be; when she couldn't hold our hands for whatever reason, we'd hold onto her clothes, but even then we still lost her multiple times in the crowd. However when that happened we'd just go to the mosque at the end of the street and wait for her there, and she'd appear in 5-10 minutes to pick us up. Life was simpler back then, i hope we can return someday.
