Main Riff was originally played on a sitar, but it had lyrics. This is the 3rd arrangement I am learning of this, the second is based on an original live version played by Vic found on some jazz site, easy to find and has a video of the original Indian song. But this is pretty good, especially the 3rd arrangement with the modified harmonic, which is not on my other 2 tabs. This is a 007 masterclass.
Monty Norman may have wrote the theme, Vic Flick came up with the guitar riff, he was asked to add a guitar to the arrangement he should have played on a Stratocaster as Vic had one of the first Strats in the country. The strat was stolen a day or two before he went into the studio he played the riff on a semi acoustic jazz guitar. It took 2 months to get another strat in the country to replace the one that was stolen,. The replacement strat recently sold in America for $ 55,000
Great lesson. Always wanted to learn this and now I have the chance. Nice looking J-45. What vintage is it? I bought a new one just over two years ago with Grover tuners and am really enjoying playing it. It's gets better every day.
My pleasure. Those J-45s are great guitars. Not sure when they changed over from button style tuners to Grovers but I like the vintage vibe ot the button style tuners. I tried several guitars before I bought mine as they all sound different. I also tried a Martin D-28 but found the Gibson had a warmer more balanced sound. Currently looking for a nice 12 string. My friend has a Terada from the 70´s and it has the best action I've ever seen on a 12 string. It also has a wonderful sound as it has definitely improved with age. Some say the 70's was the golden age of Japanese acoustic guitars. Have to keep my eyes open for one.
Enjoyed your video. Learned so much. Question: Do you have an easier version of the James Bond chord...my fingers aren't long enough to reach all thel strings.... :) thanks much...
not sure if any one pointed this out yet or not, but the opening is way to high the way you played it, I like to play it on the second third and fourth fret, but that's just my preference, keep up the good work

Try this - 1st finger on 2e, 3rd finger on 4B and open G - just play those three strings. Thanks for your kind comments.
