YOU SHOULD WEAR A RESPIRATOR WHEN WORKING WITH A POTTING MIX. You can inhale a Legionella bacteria and get an infection this way. I don't know, maybe they don't inform you on it in the US, but there is plenty of information on how to safely handle potting mixes on some of the Australian and New Zealand government websites. I don't know if you are aware of this, but thought I should write it regardless, since it's a good safety rule to use PPE when handling potting mixes, and some of your subscribers might look into it after reading my comment.

I feel the same way about winter and the loss of Summer. I always get a weird feeling when the cold starts rolling in. I don't like it. Then with the time changes it makes it worse. Try to find a big chunk of wood for a chopping block so you can take nice big swings, it's way more fun. Also I think the paint should be fine.

Chopping on concrete will guarantee you will destroy the edge of the axe. Every time. Use a log or stump under the piece you want to chop.
