I mentioned at my cervical screening 5 years ago that something felt wrong down there and I thought I had a prolapse. I was practically laughed at and told I would definitely know! Well NOW I do (stage 3/4 now) and upset I could have had help sooner!!
I had uterine prolapse (3/4 - the bulge was visible) and successfully used a pessary for about six years. This year (2024) I had to undergo a hysterectomy (with removal of the cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries) as part of cancer prevention. So, my uterine prolapse will not be an issue, but I am VERY concerned about developing one of the other two types of prolapse. How common is that possibility, especially since I've never seen a pelvic PT?
No.dong think so. Other parts can come down. Talk to HERS. It's a womens organization who deals wi t h this. Haven't spoke to them in years. But worth a try.😢

Very useful Dr

Thank you for watching!
They don't use a mesh anymore right??
Thank you Dr.
I have stage 4
is it possible to only remove the uterus, keep the cervix, but use your own tissue to hold up the cervix instead of sling/mesh?
They use a different mesh for cervix and vaginal colpexy, it is not the one that has so many issues.
@@marileemorinjj whats it called?
