    I’m so thankful for you. I have a mild prolapse and was told I needed a hysterectomy. I was devastated. I love fitness and running and felt like my life was over. Thanks to you and other physical therapists (as well as the ob that delivered my son) I realized that I don’t need a hysterectomy. I can make these symptoms better by doing what I love-exercise! Thank you so much

      You're very welcome! It's fantastic to hear that you've found ways to manage your prolapse and continue doing what you love through exercise and guidance from physical therapists. Remember that there are often non-surgical options and strategies that can make a significant difference. Keep up the great work, and always listen to your body. Stay strong and active! ~ Vibrant Support

    I am so thankful for my PFPT! I've been struggling with prolapse issues for 31 years. My midwife also blew it off. 😑 She said it was normal😮. I became a fitness instructor at 46, and at 48, I prolapsed during a class while doing squats. I've had 2 surgeries since then. The doctors didn't give me any guidance for pelvic floor help or hope for an active, pee free future. I am currently on short-term medical leave due to prolapse again. This time, I'm working with a PFPT! Thank you soooo much for sharing your story!!! I'm looking forward to lifting again - 💪 🙂 I have a ways to go, but I have HOPE!!

    After giving birth for the third time I began to notice that something had changed with my bladder and pelvic area. I managed to get things under control and was able to run, lift weights, etc. again without problems, until the menopause and decreasing estrogen… It is important to prevent and do things right before this time comes and not to overstrain our pelvic area, even if everything appears to be strong and healthy. Now I have to doble effort and discipline with excercise and lifestyle. Thank you very much for your videos, they have been very helpful.

    Wow!! SO happy I stumbled into your world, Dr. Bri! Right before the holidays I assumed I had a UTI based on the classic pelvic discomfort. I grabbed antiBs, symptoms subsided briefly, but came back with a vengeance. After I got two negative UTI labs, I searched the web for other potential causes of my pain (my doctor was stumped of course), and I found your "Pudendal Neuralgia exercises" video. I started doing the work and finally, after 3 long weeks of agony, one day I woke up and my symptoms were completely gone! I was so relieved!! Well, fast forward two weeks and, after a bout of terrible stress at work, my symptoms have returned. I was devasted. So I returned to your video again, and then I clicked this one to watch your story. Oh my gosh, I'm not alone! The symptoms you described are *exactly* what I feel, and now I am 100% positive it's the stress. Now I know what I need to do next, thanks to you! I have to make this maintenance a priority in my life now. Thank you for sharing this with us - I no longer feel the fear I did. First step!!

      Finishing my showers with slightly turning my shower water until “cold” onto my head has helped my stress, and just letting things go. But, yes Dr. Bri’s story has encouraged me and will start the exercises. I had a pap this year, and the assistant called in the Dr. to take a look, but they never told me I had prolapsed uterus! I found out on my own, I went in for a UTI I thought, took antibiotics, but I’m so glad I’m found exercises! I know what to do know.

    Hi! Thirty-nine year old mother of 2, and my youngest just turned two. Our breastfeeding journey is now starting to end. Like you, I’m a runner and ran through my pregnancies. For a few years I’ve been experiencing horrible problems with my digestion /bowel movements. The worst anxiety that never stops. I’ve done every test and tried a myriad of medications with my GI doctor. Nothing has helped. At no point have any of my doctors mentioned that I might have pelvic floor issues. When I watched your videos, so many lights went off. I hope I can begin my journey to healing with your videos. Thank you for all of this information ❤

    Thanks for saying that it doesn't have to be a big chore because I do your pelvic floor exercises every morning and though I love them, they're soothing and they help, it can definitely feel like a big daunting chore that if I don't do, I'm doomed for life or something. This is a good reminder that what I do throughout my day probably matters more. Def gonna incorporate more consistent moment-to-moment lifestyle changes. I'm sitting upright instead of slouching rn and it feels so uncomfortable. It's actually harder than I thought because slouching is so, so comforting and now it feels as if I can no longer feel free in my body anymore. But I guess I'm just gonna have to be uncomfortable with all the changes until I'm not 🤷🏿‍♀️🙏🏿.

    • @vibrantpelvichealth
      @vibrantpelvichealth  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hear your concerns, but please rest easy in knowing that if you skip or miss a day, you're not doomed for life! What you do throughout the day DEFINITELY matters more. As you gain strength and awareness in your pelvic floor/core, you'll naturally recruit your core muscles at the right times, in the right way, exactly when you need them to be a little extra "on." That's what your pelvic floor/core is designed to do! To be naturally supple and supportive when you're at rest, and to turn on "extra" when you're doing something more intense like lifting, pushing, pulling, etc. Just trust yourself, and trust that (because of all the work you've done with your daily workouts) you'll be applying your pelvic floor/core muscles throughout the day and getting *plenty* of natural exercise... even if you miss a day of dedicated pelvic floor work. And ALSO remember that if you don't feel free in your body, add more MOVEMENT!!! Don't slouch, instead, move more! Do hip circles! Dance! Be free!!! ;)

    Just watched your video! Oh, how I needed to hear this... As you might remember; I have followed you for sometime now and used many of your programs, etc. I have a pretty moderate prolapse and had been doing really well with it symptomatically until recently. I had lost quite a bit of weight and exercise regularly and have continued to try and maintain my prolapse and weight but have had a set back, gained a little back and obviously my prolapse has become more symptomatic. I have been trying to spend additional time with my exercise regimen with a more concentrated focus on my pelvic floor but after watching the video it all makes sense about the stress....lol Without going into too much more detail you have given me hope and a new direction to try and get back to an "almost" non-symptomatic prolapse, which was where I was. As always, thanks for all your helpful advice and all the work you contribute in pelvic floor health!!!

    Thank you for sharing this. I was diagnosed a few months ago with grade 1-2 rectocele. I’m saw a gynaecologist who explained that surgery isn’t the best option for me. I’ve been seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist and she’s helping a lot. Here in Australia, my doctor was able to put me on a program to get discounted physiotherapy sessions.
    But it’s helpful to have other resources to utilise in between appointments. And to feel like there’s hope that things can improve. My main fear was that I wouldn’t be able to go hiking anymore.

    Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience and what stood out to me the most, was that you had faith and belief that it will be ok. While this may see like something intangible, the reality is that faith and trust in your body to heal is one of the most curative remedies. This is because it allows the repair to continue and do so much faster. Muscles have a responsive qualities and if you need to firm up, they will firm up because your mindset, faith and energy is towards that action. If however, you doubt and you stay in the mindset of the muscles being weak then the muscles, because they are responsive will stay weak and will breakdown the muscle further because you tell yourself that there is something wrong and my muscles are weak. One of the reasons exercise works is that it is a physical activity that allow the muscles to build, and its important to recognize the most tiniest of improvements because this adds to the muscle's ability to firm and strengthen, however if you don't recognize the improvement or put your mindset towards the unseen improvement of the muscles, then the negative feedback again breaks down the muscles. Negative feedback whether it is to another, ourselves or our body is a breaking down, destructive energy and we wouldn't do that to others and should not do that to our self or our body. Its also important not to allow your mind to be focused on the prolapse, as it will undermine the natural strength and ability for the body to heal. I find its important to just do the exercises and then move onto your next activity. If you put too much thought on it, its easy to slip into negative thinking and doubting, and again these are set backs.
    There are too many things in life these days that are driving women to not be happy, comparing and contrasting themselves with super models or false images. Its important for women to feel well in their body, and for that we need to really eradicate the comparing and contrasting, which nearly always makes us feel less than, weaker then, fatter then, etc and they undermine a person's core sense of the wonderful qualities they possess, and that they would themselves recognize if they just were allowed to be.
    I hope this helps some woman and helps her to be empowered to just be.

    Let me say, as others have, it’s wonderfully reassuring to have professional insight, and it be from someone who’s so honest about having “walked the walk!” I learned a LOT in this 23-minute video! Having you as a resource in this (just figured out last month at age 69 that I have POP), blesses me, given all the side issues. A 75 yo woman I know told me she’s had a pessary for a few years and it’s helped a lot with urinary leakage. I just figured I’d need one, too, but the maintenance (going in for removal and cleaning by on-gyn), isn’t really attractive to me. How does one really know if a pessary is the best route to take? Thank you for any guidance on this, Dr. Bri !!

    Thank you so much for being so honest. You really helped to drive home the point that relaxation is KEY to healing a prolapse. I’m not completely healed, but I can tell I’m on the way. The deep breathing and awareness of posture have been a big help. Also, I know it sounds weird, but I got myself some pee-proof undies and that has really helped me to stop worrying about leaking, which probably caused even more tension. ( I don’t recommend pads. They are bulky and uncomfortable and smell weird which doesn’t help with the worrying). One other thing that I do to help with tension is to take a magnesium pill before bed, and to rub some magnesium oil (mixed into lotion) on my legs. Thank you for what you do! It is so important!

I have been doing your workouts almost everyday and have noticed less of a bulge and less of a marble feeling when I sit. It seems to focus on the left side I am assuming it is probably my cervix that has protruding just slightly outside, so uncomfortable, embarrassing making my relationship very difficult, I do not want to get that surgery. My OB/GYN tells me try to avoid it at the stage I’m at I can fix it. I cannot lift my grandbabies too much and I am constantly running around that affects it too. I’m not sure what to do about the surgery but I definitely have to get back into the PT. You are absolutely wonderful. Thank you for all your help. 🙏🙏

      I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you've been facing with stage 2 or possibly stage 3 prolapse. It can be a difficult and uncomfortable experience, and I understand how it can impact various aspects of your life, including your relationship and activities with your grandbabies.
      It's great that your OB/GYN has advised you to explore non-surgical options and to try pelvic floor physical therapy (PT). PT can be very beneficial in helping to strengthen and support the pelvic floor muscles, improve overall pelvic floor function, and potentially alleviate some of the symptoms associated with prolapse.
      Engaging in PT exercises and following the guidance of a qualified pelvic floor physical therapist can help you regain control and improve your symptoms. They can provide you with specific exercises and techniques tailored to your needs and stage of prolapse. It's important to be consistent with your PT exercises and communicate any concerns or changes you may experience during the process.
      While surgery is an option for some individuals, it's understandable that you may be hesitant about pursuing that route. It's worth exploring non-surgical approaches first, as they can provide significant improvement and potentially help you avoid surgery.
      I encourage you to discuss your concerns and treatment options with your healthcare provider or seek a second opinion from a specialist in pelvic floor disorders. They can provide you with a comprehensive evaluation, discuss the potential benefits and risks of different approaches, and guide you towards the best course of action based on your specific condition and preferences.
      Remember, you're not alone in this journey. There are resources, healthcare professionals, and support networks available to help you navigate through the challenges of prolapse. Stay positive, take care of yourself, and keep working with your healthcare team to find the best solutions for your situation.
      Sending you support, strength, and well wishes on your path to healing. You're doing great🙏🌺

    I thought I had bladder prolapse, I had all the symptoms of it, I was absolutely devastated. I didn’t want a pessary, I didn’t want a mesh surgery, I don’t have time for physical therapy. I was afraid to do certain exercises, I was afraid to lift things. Turns out, it was a cyst on my urethra! After all that. 🙄 I had it removed and now I feel great! I am so happy to have found you! I am 9 months postpartum and I have uterine and bladder prolapse. It has been a very difficult and slow journey that has contributed to PP anal fissures and hemorrhoid flare ups. I am finally starting to feel hope and more like myself again. However, I want to have another baby but am absolutely terrified that it is going to make things so much worse. Any advice? Do you know success stories of women with prolapse having more children? Also, I am also a runner and I run currently run with a Pessary once or twice a week but I also do yoga and your belly dancing video with hypopressive breathing exercises. Would you advise against running with a Pessary, could this be putting too much pressure on my PF?

    Very interesting video, especially about the relapse. My first experience with prolapse was about 8 years ago, bladder! Then I got uterine cancer and had total hysterectomy! The best thing from this surgery was the prolapse was gone!!! I guess the best thing was the CANCER gone!! Well, 9 months ago, not only did the bladder prolapse come back but it also brought a friend, a rectocele, which is the worst of the 2 but my gyne diagnosed them as medium and felt that kegels are enough! They are so annoying so I have to work harder! Trying not to stress is good advice! My sport is bike riding! I don’t feel either prolapse on the bike! I try to eat lots of fruit so not to be constipated but still seem to have a problem there! The rectocele feels so much better when I can go to the bathroom! Thanks for helping! So, that’s my gruesome story!!

I did kegels and yoga until now but i got little bit lazy last 3 months. Last week i felt it all fell down, i think me its mainly bladder. Dr told me it was nothing but i suffer! 😔 i am scared that this time it will not fix. It seems worse than the last time. I started kegels and i continue with yoga as usual. I dont onow what will happen.

      @@Rosemary-gc4gk Hi Rosemary, I also developed prolapse in my mid 60s. I have really found Dr. Bri's programs helpful -- particularly the emphasis on relaxing the pelvis floor muscles. Before that, when I first went to my doctor, she recommended a pessary and told me to just keep doing lots of kegels every day. I chose not to have a pessary but did do endless kegels daily. That seemed to make it worse! I think it was just adding more tension and pressure. Once I found Dr. Bri's channel and started following her approach, my symptoms eased up considerably. I still have prolapse but it is minimal now -- much less severe than it was initially. I am 70 now and I feel like things are continuing to improve for me. I know it takes a bit longer as we get older but, at any age, the body still has remarkable self healing power when it is supported in the right ways. I wish you well on your healing journey.

    Just found this training group and I have high hopes it helps me. I had Rectocele repair done in 2020 and tho it fixed one thing it's made me incontinent. So I have begun searching for help with strengthening my pelvic floor. All of this is quite doable but I struggle with the sitting on floor position legs out straight, right toe pointed in and then slowly swiping my right leg out to the side as if opening up my pelvic area. When I get out near the end I start feeling extreme hip pain almost like a Charlie horse. As soon as I turn my toes up outward and start to put my leg back in that goes away. It's on both sides. Do I need to strengthen my hips or do I need a joint supplement? Appreciate any thoughts as I work through. I am 64.

    I have a stage 2 cystocele and rectocele. I have seen a pelvic floor PT and she said the top of my pelvic floor is too tight, and the bottom too weak. Whenever I’ve done the exercises it’s made my symptoms worse. I did them consistently for a couple months, but life is busy and the symptoms increasing worried me, and I stopped. I had a couple really good months symptom free, but decided to start trying some of the exercises again and now I feel the cystocele is even worse. It is now bulging towards the vaginal opening, where before it was not that low. I’m so scared about it and don’t know if I should do pelvic floor exercises or not, or if I need to work through it being worse before it’s better..? I also have TMJ and have read the jaw and pelvic floor are connected but that is a whole different issue I don’t know how to solve either. I feel so overwhelmed!

    Sadly, many women silently suffer from varying degrees of pelvic organ prolapse, often due to being postmenopausal, with little help available. Obviously, they don't have the benefit of hormones reregulating, that you had :). Anything you can share about your experience or that of your patients would offer a great deal of support and guidance. Thanks! BTW the point about stress/mental tension translating to tension in the pelvic floor is not acknowledged or spoken about enough, but 100% true. Wish there was more awareness about this among women. Not sure if it causes the similar issues in men, though. In your experience could pelvic floor issues and prolapse cause digestive issues as well?

    • @vibrantpelvichealth
      @vibrantpelvichealth  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that the stress/pelvic tension connection is not acknowledged enough; I'm trying to change that especially via the posts on my social media (@femfusionfitness on Instagram). I talk about this connection a lot, and also have many videos and playlists dedicated to meditation, stretching, pelvic pain/tension, etc. Re: the digestion connection - YES. Digestive issues can cause pelvic floor issues, and vice versa.

      You can do the Lift program while pregnant. It's safe for all trimesters; however, some of the moves might require modifications for the third trimester to reduce time lying on your back and to eliminate time lying on your belly.
      Even if you skip the exercises altogether and just watch the educational videos, Lift is wonderful to go through while pregnant so that you can learn (and utilize) the lifestyle tips. You can utilize these tips *throughout pregnancy* and continue using them after the baby is born to help keep your pelvic floor SAFE and to prevent prolapse from worsening.
      Lift also makes a great postpartum recovery exercise program, starting around 6 weeks after delivery.

    Wonder why the urologist I went to did not suggest physical therapy…does he think I am too old? I am 74 but am not overweight and have a long history of weight training, some pilates and lots of walking…..although the hormone cream does help…I would like to help myself..that it what I have always done….

    Hi.... I have a bladder prolapse..I found it two months after my delivery.I have a girl of two years. I didn't give attention to it, but successfully lost around 30 kg weight. Now I seriously want to be free from this because I heard that a prolapse can cause c section. Please tell me that even after wasting past two years I can be free from this..

    Do kegels help? Also does estriol estrogen cream help too I am 70

    • @vibrantpelvichealth
      @vibrantpelvichealth  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kegels can help, if done correclty. You would need to make sure you don't have tension in your core and pelvic floor muscles. I encourage you to see a pelvic floor PT for one-on-one support. If you want to learn more about prolapse, feel free to check my free beginner's guide to prolapse bit.ly/prolapseguide As for the cream, some find it helpful. I encourage you to ask your healthcare provider about using it.

    I have mild to moderate bladder prolapse (20 years after partial hysterectomy) and recently severe cough has put more pressure in that area. Will the exercises you show on videos help? Is surgery or device a better route. I have back issues and don't want this to flare up as a result of treating through your pelvic exercises.Thank you for your response.

    • @vibrantpelvichealth
      @vibrantpelvichealth  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, workouts can help. Sometimes surgery is needed, especially when organs are falling out of the vagina.
