  • www.Brijan.xyz Canned pickled eggs are overcooked - essentially ruining them. We'll show you how to do it without double cooking the eggs by leaving out the canning process. We'll even open a 3 year old jar to prove our method!

    This is great. Next-level meal prep - 50 eggs in one go, and will stay good for years.

      We have a batch that was made 3 1/2 years ago, and they still taste great! Thanks for watching. Enjoy!!!

    I like this simple pickled job. I’m guessing you could add a little spices if you want? Just found ya today. Thanks for sharing!!!

      Thanks for your inquiry. You can certainly add your preferred spice, if you want. We chose not to for our demonstration. Have a terrific and safe day!!

    Does the jar that the eggs are in
    need to seal for long term storage ?

    No salt or spices?
    These could easily used in potato or macaroni salad. Maybe to make eggs salad in hard times.

    • @brijan6509
      @brijan6509  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We don't use salt or spices. Good idea for using in potato, macaroni or egg salad since there would be eggs ready to go all the time. Thanks for your comment. Enjoy!!!

      @@brijan6509 I am inclined to think out of the box. Due to health reason i have to limit my salt, but love my spices.
      Blessing, have a good day.

    Is the water necessary or just a flavor preference? In the UK, full on malt vinegar flavor is the norm.

    • @brijan6509
      @brijan6509  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks for your inquiry. We prefer to add a little water to reduce the tartness of the vinegar. But, it's not necessary if you prefer to have more vinegar flavor. Enjoy!!

    These will keep for years without canning? The brine is enough to preserve them?

    • @brijan6509
      @brijan6509  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      These will keep for years without canning. The batch we made prior to the ones we made in this video were good for three years (would have been longer, but we ate them all within three years). It's been two and a half years since we made the batch that was made in this video and they will be good for quite a while longer. We're still eating them and they are perfectly fine and delicious. Have fun making your batch of pickled eggs and enjoy. Thanks for your interest and inquiry.

    More importantly do you store them in the fridge or pantry ? And why no spices ?

    • @brijan6509
      @brijan6509  4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      We store the finished eggs in the boxes that we purchased the jars in and keep them in the basement. We make them in large batches and eat them over a period of 2 to 3 years, sometimes longer. Once we open a jar, we will refrigerate what we haven't eaten.
      As far as spices are concerned, for our videos we like to concentrate on just the basics of how we have learned to cook things for ourselves as we show in our Beef Tongue and Beef Ribs videos. Once a person knows the basics, they will be equipped to be creative and add whatever spices and flare to build a recipe they can claim as their own.
      Thanks for your question.

      Thanks for your positive comment. We only refrigerate the eggs after we have opened a jar. The other jars can be stored in the cupboard or other dry area. Enjoy!!!

      We have used white vinegar and apple cider vinegar. We have even used pickle juice but have used those eggs within a couple of weeks since we don't know how long the eggs would store in the pickle juice. Thanks for watching. Have fun!!

    Just found you :>). Why do you invert the jars, and can you use white, or other flavored, vinegar? Thanks so much.

    • @brijan6509
      @brijan6509  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Glad you found us! Inverting the jars creates the seal when you use the heated lid inserts as described in our video. You can use white vinegar and other flavors if you prefer them, but make sure you use the ratio of vinegar to water we used in the video. Have fun!!!

    Love how she says on the jar of 3 year old eggs “ “the dark specs are the spices””! Yet adds NO spices to the eggs,lol it’s mold/bacteria starting.

    • @brijan6509
      @brijan6509  4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Thanks for your comment. The dark specs on the 3 year old eggs WERE spices that we had added to that particular batch. They were not mold or bacteria. For our video demonstration we chose not to add spices because, as you can see when you add spices, blemishes will appear on the eggs. Have a fun day!!
