For anyone who hasn't tried it, egg salad made with pickled eggs is amazing...and easy, too. All you do is mash up the eggs and add mayo. Since the eggs are already seasoned, you don't need to add anything else😀

It’s also nice to find long lasting recipes like this considering all the food is being wiped from the shelves because of covid-19. Thanks for the video
seen these eggs at bars and they cost too much for just one with a beer ! So I made my own at home. I just add some hot pepper flakes and garlic cloves. Then I poke a squre in to them a few times to get the brine inside the egg. Tastes better ! Thanks !
If you need to put some eggs up and don't have time to mess around, pickle them in Franks (any cayenne pepper sauce) and you are done. I've tried to heat them up with habenero sauce etc, but eggs just won't hold the heat so don't worry about making them too spicy. Goes great in your lunch bucket.
If you run a toothpick through the eggs they will absorb the pickling juice quicker. I boil my jars and lids to sanitize. I like to use several different hot sauces with my brine. I also put jalapeno peppers. Some of you might think that would be too hot but then the vinegar calms down the heat quite a lot. I use them more for the flavors (and a little heat). I've done the above recipe and they are really great.
Hey Calvin.. I saw a lady on Facebook she made some and used red food coloring. In her mild ones and red food coloring in her spicy ones. Also I've seen some ppl use a toothpick to poke holes in the eggs. I have watched alot of recipes but I like this one best!!! Thanx for sharing.
Sometimes when we make our pickled eggs we will put beet juice in them for the red color. Some people prefer them that way but I still like the old fashioned way best. Have a fantastic week, Calvin and Marie
Every year we had a BIG GARDEN AND WE PLANTED LOT'S OF BEETS WE SAVED ALL THE BEETS AND WHEN I WOULD SAVE ENOUGH BEET JUICE AND SOME PICKLING SPICE . My dad loved them. My dad taught me how to grow a garden and my mom taught me how to can..They are gone now i miss them so much...
Real close to my own recipe for pickled eggs. Minus the dill. Love the onions when the eggs are all gone eat the onions too! I like to put in a tea spoon of pepper corns, doesn't add much heat, but imparts that nice pepper flavour.
Add salt to the water when boiling. when done "shock" the eggs by putting them in ice water. This will separate the shell and make peeling super easy. I can usually get the shell of in 1 whole piece.
@@Malcomb35 the boys didn't like them, but it is much different than what they typically eat. I was proud that they tried them. 😊 I can't have eggs so I couldn't try them, but they smelled great! I love pickled foods!
Super simple and well explained. Thank you. Made these today and looking forward to the pickled eggs except the only pickling spice at my store was Mrs. Wages pickling spice and it had tons of cinnamon (the ingredient list just says "spices") and I hate cinnamon. So these are for my husband and I'll make my own mix for the next batch.
Look at you exploring editing!!! Well done sir! Very similar to how I do mine, I leave out the sugar and add peppercorns, garlic and chilli flake. Looks great! Keep working on that editing pal, it is fun and will pay off for you:)))
I lost my favorite recipe some time ago and found yours looking for a little help getting started. I used to boil a few slices of beets in my brine as it gave the eggs an attractive pink color (you might give this a try). Well you got me smiling now as I'm looking forward to making up a good sized batch this weekend. Thank you for posting this. Oh, and I never tried adding dill before. Should be a real treat. -All the best.
I buy a style called "Zesty Garlic" pickles with little chunks of garlic in the brine. First thing when I get up in the morning I stagger to the fridge and mix the ice cold juice in a tumbler about half and half with cold water, drop in a few ice cubes then sit and sip till I'm fully akake. Amazing way to start the day.
I made your sauce and added it to eggs, turkey sausage and jalapeno slices and red onions and garlic I let the sauce cool mostly so it didn't pull the fat out of the turkey sausage. Worked out very nice. TY

Definitely going to try make these at some point. I’m 16 and want to get Into cooking more so it would be nice to try and make something like this since it’s new to me! It’s also nice to find long lasting recipes like this considering all the food is being wiped from the shelves because of covid-19. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching
Never tried them pickled eggs, think i am going to do some tomorrow, made it look so easy

You are so welcome!
Loved the video, I’m gonna try and makes these for my family.❤️

I followed your recipe and they were delicious! Thank you!
Glad you like them!
seen these eggs at bars and they cost too much for just one with a beer ! So I made my own at home. I just add some hot pepper flakes and garlic cloves. Then I poke a squre in to them a few times to get the brine inside the egg. Tastes better ! Thanks !
Thanks for watching.
Have a great week,

I do hard boil eggs in insta pot for 5 mins then put in cold water Perfect and easiest to peel ever!
Secret...use toothpick to poke holes in eggs..they pickle faster . And I put jalapenos in mine
Thanks for watching, yes I've done that before also.
Have a great week,
Calvin and Marie
@@SouthernCountryLiving Thank you. Will use the recipe without the sugar though. Much appreciated.
I've tried that before using a fork, but it didn't seem to make any difference.
But you are allowing bacteria in the egg center
@@BasicRootsHomesteadWFL With all of the vinegar!? Probably not.
I have never eaten them but I will try them thanks so much! Mary
Thanks for watching. That is a good idea.
Have a great weekend,
Calvin and Marie
If you run a toothpick through the eggs they will absorb the pickling juice quicker. I boil my jars and lids to sanitize. I like to use several different hot sauces with my brine. I also put jalapeno peppers. Some of you might think that would be too hot but then the vinegar calms down the heat quite a lot. I use them more for the flavors (and a little heat). I've done the above recipe and they are really great.
Thanks for watching
Hey Calvin.. I saw a lady on Facebook she made some and used red food coloring. In her mild ones and red food coloring in her spicy ones. Also I've seen some ppl use a toothpick to poke holes in the eggs. I have watched alot of recipes but I like this one best!!! Thanx for sharing.
Sometimes when we make our pickled eggs we will put beet juice in them for the red color. Some people prefer them that way but I still like the old fashioned way best.
Have a fantastic week,
Calvin and Marie
Calvin and Marie. Im a new subscriber. I love your videos!!!!

I've only ever had beet pickled eggs, but I've always been curious about regular non-beet ones. I'll have to try this recipe!
Thanks for watching, I've been planning on doing a video on my beet pickled eggs. Maybe I can get to it soon.
Have a great week,
Calvin and Marie
spiderblackwidow i just made the beets one today:)
@@SouthernCountryLiving if eggs are pickled with beet, do they have to be sweet? Or can I make them less sweet?
Yes the sugar can be omitted.
They look yummy , must try this recipe .
I love the accent thank you
Thanks for watching, have a great weekend... Calvin and Marie
Brother those look Great !!!
It would be hard for me to stay out of them for 7-10 days !!
Thanks for watching, yes they are good.
Have a great week,

Real close to my own recipe for pickled eggs. Minus the dill. Love the onions when the eggs are all gone eat the onions too! I like to put in a tea spoon of pepper corns, doesn't add much heat, but imparts that nice pepper flavour.
Sounds great! Thanks very much
Put a teaspoon of vinegar in to the water when boiling the eggs it will make peeling them easier
Thanks for watching.
Steam your eggs in a rice cooker and the peel super easy.
Also fresh eggs don't peel well, let them sit on the counter for a couple days,.
Add salt to the water when boiling. when done "shock" the eggs by putting them in ice water. This will separate the shell and make peeling super easy. I can usually get the shell of in 1 whole piece.
Baking soda !!!!!!!
Looks delicious . I will definitely try this.
Thanks very much
We are trying these now!! My boys said they wanted to try some pickled eggs and we liked your recipe best 😊
Thanks very much, I hope your boys enjoy them.
Have a great week,
Calvin and Marie
How were they?
Thanks Ryan, sometimes I put some extra peppercorns in mine. Have a great week... Calvin
My husband is so looking forward to us making these! Thank you
Thanks very much, pickled eggs is a favorite of ours.
Have a great weekend,
Calvin and Marie
I lost my favorite recipe some time ago and found yours looking for a little help getting started. I used to boil a few slices of beets in my brine as it gave the eggs an attractive pink color (you might give this a try). Well you got me smiling now as I'm looking forward to making up a good sized batch this weekend. Thank you for posting this. Oh, and I never tried adding dill before. Should be a real treat. -All the best.
Thanks for watching, yes I also make them with beets.
Have a great weekend,
Calvin and Marie
I add salt to my water before the boiling. Make it like the Ocean. My eggs peel nicely every time. I’m going to try this recipe, sounds good
Thanks very much,
Calvin and Marie
well amigo, you've left out an important step for those of us from South Louisiana or Texas: the jalapenos, serranos, and cayenne.
Thanks for watching. Yes, you can add as many peppers as you want.
Calvin
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED PICKLED EGGS,YOU MADE THAT LOOK SO EASY,I MIGHT HAVE TO TRY THAT SOON,GOD BLESS AND Y'ALL STAY SAFE
Thanks very much Barbara
CONFESSION: I always drink the pickling juice after eating the eggs or onions 😄 Do you have any foodie confessions?
The pickling juice is mostly vinegar and it is healthy for you.
Have a great week,
Calvin and Marie
My youngest son always freezes the juice after we are done with the dill pickles we make. He calls them Pickle-cicles!
Vinegar is good for your stomach
I buy a style called "Zesty Garlic" pickles with little chunks of garlic in the brine. First thing when I get up in the morning I stagger to the fridge and mix the ice cold juice in a tumbler about half and half with cold water, drop in a few ice cubes then sit and sip till I'm fully akake. Amazing way to start the day.
dad would always used to pickle juice on his salad I tried it tastes pretty good
I made your sauce and added it to eggs, turkey sausage and jalapeno slices and red onions and garlic I let the sauce cool mostly so it didn't pull the fat out of the turkey sausage. Worked out very nice. TY
Thanks very much. Yes, that sounds very good.
Calvin and Marie
I must confess I've never tried a pickled egg before, grew up eating pickled onions, but never an egg :S
Thanks for watching. If you like pickled onions then you will love pickled eggs. That is assuming that you like eggs.
Have a great week,
Calvin and Marie
@@SouthernCountryLiving Ooh thank you, I know pickled onions use malt vinegar to be brined in, but they do look good!
Do you eat them on their own or in/with anything?
@@Larry I like to eat them on their own.
They are good! How do get the red tint just food coloring ? I have only had red pickled eggs . Want to try this .
@@shannonyep3547 you could slice up a fresh beetroot and put that in with the eggs. Beetroot makes everything red. And you get pickled beetroot!
