Can't wait for this series! Loved your SoC playthough. I'd really recommend SRP (Sky Reclamation Project) for Clear Sky. I enjoyed the game, but it does have a lot of frustrating and even game-breaking bugs. SRP sorts most of those out! Edit: found out that STCS 3.6 which Qloud is using already includes SRP
Clear Sky was my favorite as a kid, I still play it once a year. Many people scold it for the bugs, but there are fixes for that with mods, I personally know all its flaws, the bugs were never that drastic for me. If you help Clear Sky with side missions at the beginning, you will get one of the best armors, the CS-3 outfit, but if you just progress with the story you will always get the basic equipment. Never buy clothes from a merchant. For example, later, if you help the stalkers with side missions, you will get the SEVA outfit, with which you can practically play the game until the end. I personally love side missions because you get extra things. Regarding the faction joining, you will decide who you want to be with, but you can also remain an outsider, like before in Shadow Of Chernobyl, the only difference is that here the bandits have a separate story. I don't know how easy it is to capture the big hangar in the Garbage (the bandits are there). However, in vanilla Clear sky it was almost impossible to capture it, or very difficult. There was always a bug that teleported the whole team back to the hangar. The only way it could happen is if you capture it with friends and they take over the hangar, if you go alone the enemy always respawning back. (This was in vanilla, it may have been fixed since then). If you just follow the story everything will be fine, you will get all the important armor and weapons, but it is worth taking the pendrives to the mechanics because that is how you can upgrade weapons and armor. As far as I know, pendrives can also be obtained mainly through side missions, but it is not mandatory. If you want to finish it quickly just for the story, then you don't have to worry so much. I'm glad you're playing this too, it was my favorite when it came out in 2008. At the time, it was a magical looking game. (I think it's still good). And yes, story-wise, Clear Sky is before in the timeline, it takes place before Shadow Of Chernobyl. Have fun, you're my favorite stalker content maker. You get a sunrise suit,not a seva. And unless its a translation error,the CS3A is horrible,the CS1 is superior and it can be bought instead of being obtained via rewards
Sorry i don't like to argue, but CS-3 suit is double the protection of the CS-1, and if you just watched Qlouds video you can see, that you get the CS-1 just before you leave the Swamps, so why would you buy then?
Ok, as it was mentioned, you can use the other exit to the north. You can also get a rifle in the vanilla game and find a scope on the look out tower by the fishing hamlet near the Clear Sky base. If you use the scope to shoot at the guy in the machine gun nest, he will take cover for a few moments and give you enough time to run to cover and run again. That's how I got through back in the day.
I actually liked clear sky the most of the trilogy back when I first played it, so props to you for not skipping it. Always keep some bandages man, the one thing I remember that bleeding sucks in this game.
Dude, you just keep pumping these out, thought you'd take some rest but here we are, CS! This one ties in the lore of Soc, it's a fun ride to be sure. I love stalker in general, the gameplay is awesome and not to spoil but Stalker2, you'll wanna play this, just so you know the story properly.
when they were talking about someone passing the brain scorcher I believe it was Strelok before he got his memory wipe when he had his squad that were trying to reach the CNPP which is why in shadow of Chernobyl the c-conscious thought he was dead and he has all his flashbacks of the rats trying to force him away. also i think the big blowout near the beginning is the same one that gives strelok his memory loss and the rats are actually running from the blowout like the animals are in the beginning clear sky cutscene.
this is incorrect. Strelok lost his memory BECAUSE of the events of Clear Sky and what Scar did. Lebedev talks about the first time Strelok has reached the center of the Zone and took that picture of CNPP that Doctor holds in SoC. Strelok has been past the Brain Scorcher several times. That's why C - Con wanted him dead so bad that they even programmed him to kill himself XD

It's not terrible, clear-sky has so much entertainment value. In CS, rewards stack per faction, it is best to take as many tasks as you can and clear them up with the trader. The Trader is the main hub through which all tasks are completed. The trick with the military exit is to sprint jump to the rocks, than crouch under the tree and walk through it. You can do it, it just takes time. The game is not supposed to be played like gamma or anomaly. It is way more arcadey than any of the other stalker games. There is a point after you finish quests from duty and freedom that takes your equipment and money away. (You can reclaim your equipment) this is pretty much the reason why people say it sucks. Its my favourite of the series.
One of my funniest memories about STALKER: Clear Sky is leaving the Clear Sky base in the swamp, climbing the watchtower further down the road looking for loot, only to be assaulted by two bandits, I pull out my standard AK(got that after an update to the game, not the shortened one you can "lend/borrow" from the weaponsmith in the camp) I take some single shots at around 40-50 meters, keep missing, bullets fly left, right and over their heads, after realising I'm wasting precious ammo, I pull out my Makarov 9mm and with ease double tap both bandits, at very same distanceReally is Clear Sky in a nutshell, totally janky yet so freaking epic. Just listening to the music in the start menu almost gives me goosebumps. Really hope STALKER 2 hits the mark, the fans and community deserve that, luckily the devs are teasing updates and mods, so can't go horribly wrong. Cheeki breeki and good hunting STALKERS!☢
you probably should have just done vanilla stalker clear skies with the sky reclamation project patches. i've had zero crashes after hours of play, and the patches do fix the gun handling a bit. part of the issues with the game were due to the aim points not lining up properly, so the bullets didn't go where you thought they would. and after you get an upgrade or two on your gear they perform very nicely, the starter pistol carried me all the way to the end of cordon till i got a berretta . some of the optional patches for srp make stealth feasible. was fun clearing some of the swamp bases with suppressed headshots.
You didn't have to run through the machine gun bullshit when entering Cordon. When you appear in the tunnel immediately go back to the Swamps, then go to the Northern transition, you'll appear close to the farm (Loner base) in Cordon.
From what i can tell there will be a LOT from cs in stalker 2,just from the previews and gameplay they gave it was mostly about this story scar trailer aside.
Alright you left the swamps a bit too fast there's a lot of things you left behind so i will only mention this 1 thing you remember in anomaly/gamma the place Doctor resides the place where the broken rail bridge is,you might find something of interested there that could help you greatly,second you can buy some stashes from Could that will get you the last remaning flash drive for the technician,since you left the swamps you also automatically left the faction so now you will lose access to better equipment had you spend the time grinding a bit and gotten the rep with CS up you could have set yourself up nicely in the upcoming battles to come my advice reload from before you left the swamps and do all the mentioned things it will not take too much of your time of the grinding and get better stuff you will definitely need evrything i just mentioned.
Stalker Clear sky is a prequel too Shadow of Chernobyl it is a absolute must play game in my opinion it's kinda like The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit that's the perfect example how i would describe the relationship between Stalker Clear Sky and SoC just because CS ended the way it did dosen't mean you should diss it the way some people do not evry story has a good ending i see no reason why CS should have ended on a diffrent note especially so since it is The Prequel for SoC.

Vova vist (The guy manning the MG) is both my favorite and least favorite character in clear sky, I only got past him in my current save because I somehow managed to snipe him with my sawn off shotgun (In vanilla at that).

I still have nightmares about getting from the Swamps to Corden in this... took me quite a few tries even on the old settings when the game first came out... and I did it the same way spam the medkits...
Yeah I've noticed that HP regen is decent... which might help you with the infamous bleeding issue in this game. IIRC enemies gets major (90-ish percent?) damage resistance when they play hit/pain animations. That's annoying Fun fact - you can return to Swamps (when guide takes you to the Cordon near MG nest) and take northeastern passage. For some reason game doesn't tell you that.
Clear Sky always gets the worst attention. It's not a perfect game, but it introduced a lot of mechanics that people will adapt in sequel and fan mods. Like the weapon/armour upgrades, the most memorable music in the camps(the famous bandit meme music was presented in this game), imroved artifact hunting and some other things. Some tips. Explore the locations and try doing more side quests. Read the dialogues with important characters if you want some interesting lore. Hunt for artifacts and keep ones that restoring health and reducinig bleeding(this will save a lot of money). Always keep couple of bandages, bleeding in this game is dangerous. And be careful, NPC's will be spamming grenades at you and each other. Last thing, you can remain neutral with bandits at Garbage, but try to spend all your money on gear or upgrades before going there
I also started playing the trilogy after completing few playthoughs of anomaly at first I tried each without mods couldn't stand the shooting mechanics so I got gunslinger on call of prypiat which is I belive the only mod you'd need for it and I didn't go as far as u did with clear sky I just had abr mod I didn't look much but abr fixed so much I literly couldn't play 10 minutes of vanilla so really I'd recommand for you to try abr if u can it doesn't add as much guns I guess but it definetly better no judging have fun and enjoy A-Life ai 😅
58:07 no, you're not supposed to do what you did, but what you did is most likely the experience of 80% of the people who played Stalker Clear Sky; the game doesn't tell you (because it's a hardcore game for alpha man that don't cry, they instead only cry because of the paint on the boxes in Stalker 2) but the objective was to go back to the Swamps, and go towards the Agroprom exit

its possible to bypass the MG at cordon by going up north east of the swamps since theres another transit to cordon over there but personally I always go by the original path since its so funny
I feel like I would get a crash like that during my play, seems like it was from eating food thats in a enemies inventory your looting that was doing it
Btw, try not to collect a reward from traders instantly, the more tasks you do, the better reward you'll get. If you collect it everytime, you'll just get mediocre things
I don't know if your mods improve the economy, because in the original you had to collect everything to trade, the best armor cost over 300k and could only be found in the power plant
What is it with these cringe ass thumbnails these youtubers are doing? All stalker thumbnails look the same. It is just some weapon pack. If you are going to make a weapon pack showcase video, then that thumbnail would fit, but this one doesnt. This doesnt exist in the vanilla game. I am all for mods, but these type of thumbnails make me cringe. Good video though.

When you have to go to the cordon, you can just nope out from where you came and take the other exit, away from the military outpost

This is a good game. Upgrading armor can help with any bleeding problems quite well.

Clear Sky is the faction I like the most in STALKER; maybe not big on the game but didn't hate it.
There is a Veles detector hidden in the swamps cave where Doctor hides in Anomaly. Not sure if mods still keep it there

Oh boy, Clear sky. Never finished the game, it was so bugged and kept crashing I just gave up. Loved the shadow of chernobyl and return to Pripyat.

There seem to be a little few enemies in this game. Maybe there should be more enemies in the final chapter to make the plot more compact.

I don't know if your mods improve the economy, because in the original you had to collect everything to trade, the best armor cost over 300k and could only be found in the power plant

original games can be played without any mods. playing a game with mods and saying you beat the original games is a shame.
What is it with these cringe ass thumbnails these youtubers are doing? All stalker thumbnails look the same. It is just some weapon pack. If you are going to make a weapon pack showcase video, then that thumbnail would fit, but this one doesnt. This doesnt exist in the vanilla game. I am all for mods, but these type of thumbnails make me cringe. Good video though.
