2023 XSR9 here.. Wow.. Hard to beat it.. 21+ MT09 might be even better with the shorter swing arm and other improvements. You'd probably park the MT07, but it's nice having a disposable 2nd bike.
I can't speak for the KTM dirt bikes but this SMC R is fun but the electronics on it sucks. KTM should have made it so you can turn the electronics off. The worst part to me is KTM parts seem to always be on back order. I have to wait until November for a freaking plastic side fairing and I had trouble getting a simple rubber grommet a while back that should have come with the bike in the first place. My new bike was even missing a simple ziptie for the hose on the radiator, lucky I saw that while modding it.
An MT09 ABSOLUTELY puts to shame the 07 in every possible way other than pricepoint....the 07 is a cheap build slower beginner focused machine.....nothing wrong with that if your budget requires but DAMN If I can afford the new 09? There is no reason to keep an 07 other than a loaner bike for your gf or newby friends etc...IMHO. The MT07 has NOTHING the MT09 cant do BETTER or even WAY better depending what one is focused on! I mean it would be one thing if the MT07 was actually lighter and of equal build quality and tech but it simply is NOT...same goes for other models built on the same platform like the R7....R7 is great on a racetrack against OTHER R7s caliber machines but otherwise will be left for DEAD
@@dougiequick1I actually missed my MT-07 when I replaced it with a MT-09. The MT-07 was just more fun in tighter curvy roads. I could actually get out of 2nd gear while the MT-09 I couldn’t even think of banging through the gears without being in jail territory and the thing will do nothing but wheelies anytime you wanna give it throttle. So just trying to go fast on it can be difficult if that’s your goal. lol So I have a GSX8S to replace my missed MT-07 but even better than my MT-07 could ever be(love the sound of 270degree twins) and a ninja 1000SX for when I want more pep and highway rides but is 10000x more comfortable than my MT-09 too. I’m not enough of a hooligan for the MT-09 but if you are it be your perfect bike but it’s not for everyone.
So many people lacking information, perspective, or memory online. MT-09 since 2021 is NOTHING like it used to be. It's improved significantly in every way. It's no longer the pogo-stick chassis with a stonking engine stuffed into it, no longer a supermoto-ish upright unstable wild goofy bike. It's now a stellar engine stable, fun, all-new from the ground up, R1-level technology infused leader in the middle class. Cyclecruza had the previous version (which I currently own). The new MT-09 bears no resemblance, other than carrying over the best attributes of the engine (with more mid-range torque now).
after years of as a ducati rider, when the 890 smt was released in the states I had to give ktm a shot. 5k on that bike, suddenly heard engine knocking. To the dealer and they found a valve spring broke. Waiting on ktm to support warranty claim. While waiting, thought what the hell i still need to try ktm and wanted a small bike so picked up a 2024 duke 390 with 3k miles. Literally pulled out of dealer lot and low oil pressure warning came on. Right back to dealer. Dealer checked and pretty sure is a faulty sensor but won't know until part comes in. Two 2024 in the shop. Can't believe it. Never did one of the ducati's i had fail
Man sorry to hear. I've heard comments like your so many times on this channel since I got my KTM it ain't funny. I'm chill on KTM too. No more for me, I ain't waiting for a problem to happen to. lol
You’re right. It’s a terrible unreliable machine that requires the owners to read the manual to understand the electronics. I’ll take it off your hands for $100.
You have to cut the TC off every time you start bike or a get a $100 dongle to save the settings. Imo, There is no reason for rider aides on a 690. Also, this bike is hefty, you don't realize it until you take it off-road. Parts are hard to come by, I have to wait until November to get a freaking side fairing and it fell off because KTM did't put on a rubber grommet and wouldn't send me one and the stupid grommet was on backorder like every other KTM part. lol I'm chill on KTM. PS. KTM also forgot to put a ziptie on a radiator hose.
All those complaining about the electronics, every other bike you are going to buy is having those. KTM can't do anyting about it, is just manditory by law. On the KTM you can undo them all, just read the manual one time. And otherwise just pull the fuse out. Done with your complaining about nonsense.
The 690 isn't an MX bike... not even based on one. Your YZ is a motocross bike... OF COURSE it is light and aggressive. Maybe you should've gotten a 500 EXC. I don't think getting parts from KTM is any worse than any other brand... but if you're expecting aftermarket plastics for a 690, forget about it. I'm sure you can't find that for your MT-07 either. Aftermarket plastics are a thing that really only exist for MX bikes (and maybe a DR/XR). I'm not sure what you thought you were buying... but your criticisms make it seem like you accidentally bought the wrong motorcycle.
Modern bikes are getting kind of lame. Most are getting too expensive, too refined, and have unnecessary electronics, and rider aids. The Bikes 15 years ago were soulful. Emission regulations, which are BS has a lot to do with it. I had to 2008 fireblade and that motor was awesome for the street. And it wasn’t over geared like the new liter bikes are today. Before that I had a Honda superhawk, which was another awesome street bike Honda made with a V twin 1000 cc engine. It was very nimble and had a ton of torque. It was so easy to wheelie. I own a Aprilia Tuono factory now. I wish it was 50 pounds lighter and had a 750-800 cc engine but still kept a ton of torque. They need to redesign it to handle more nimbly and wheelie easier too. It looks and sounds great, they just need to redesign it to be more playful on the street. I think the new 660 Aprilia’s would have been great if they were a 750, and had more torque and a bit more horsepower. They designed the 660 Tuono to handle a lot better. Would like to test ride one because I think it would still be more fun on the street than my V4.
You hit the nail on the heard. 💯 I really don't lust for the new bikes like I used to. Every year they choke the bikes up more and more and we have spend more and more to unchoke it. The rider aides are getting ridiculous. My former 2012 cbr1000rr was the last of the mohicans, zero rider aides and raw power. I'm sorry I sold it.
Honda will never release a motorcycle like that concept hornet 1000. That picture has been floating around the internet for years. Shit we can’t even get the hornet 750
9k miles no issues 🤷♂️ also didn’t do all those mods, bike rides fine with an exhaust. Added a couple washers on the inside of the traction control sensor so I don’t have to mess with it anymore thanks to some advice from a buddy that owns one also. I have a Husqvarna though but same thing. And a 17 front wheel isn’t an off-road wheel. Light Gravel and grass is fine but you aren’t hitting sand and having a good time. It’s a street bike.
I just got back into bikes and was considering my first ktm 450/500. Glad I went with my gut and went back to a Yamaha. Finishing my supermoto build on a new yz450fx because of you. Can’t beat the reliability. Had a good experience with the wr450 back in the day.
Nice! Best of luck with your build. I don't understand why they put the Wr450F's softer suspension for woods riding on the new YZ450FX. The FX was originally meant to be a hybrid bike (motocross/woods). My 2019's stiffer suspension meant for the motocross track suits street riding well. Did they upgrade the stator to support a headlight on the new YZ?
Responding to a few things: * Ktm final gear ratio is garbage. They set it for mpg not giggles per mile. I'm not sure why no one changes that. That should be the first thing that should be changed no one seems to know about. Dropping a tooth in the drive sprocket is pretty much a need to do on all street models. I ended up going down 2 teeth on my 890 * ya, oem replacements are slow. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because they are stretched very thin in cash right now. * yup its heavy, but you're not servicing it every weekend. It's a tradeoff. * you're looking to trade the bike in for a mt09, it seems like you went into the smcr wanting to hate the bike or misunderstanding what it is. It was never designed to replace bikes like the yz450. It was for people who wanted the feel of a sumo but the reliability of a naked. Other than the frame, it doesn't have any relation to dualsport bikes. The wheels & suspension are 100% street focused. Calling the 690 enduro r a dualsport is even a stretch. It's a ultralite adv bike.
Don’t get the mt09 You got a 07 Change your sprockets -1 +2 and the 07 will feel like a 09 just won’t have a lot of power over 100mph which you don’t need anyway
Ever since Life Well Ridden's video and his problem was a maintenance mistake which they fixed. His only real gripe is the parts issue, which is valid. But the fact you have to manually turn off traction control every time is true for 90% of bikes.
@@d17a2dude That pesky camshaft melt-down problem multiple people have reported is worrisome, don't you think? "Dirty Garage Guy" has a video where he looks at how the oil channels are cross drilled in such a way that flow is restricted. Coincidentally, the pix of worn down camshafts I've seen show blued lobes like they were run dry.
I almost bought a blue 890, because I think it looks beautiful especially the high mount exhaust. But I kept doing research and there were a significant amount of owners complaining about leaky head/block gaskets and marred up cam shafts, so I dodged that bullet, because even here in Minnesota, there aren't many dealers who work on those bikes. Also would be disgruntled if I had problems with a modern bike. I think you'll be happy with a Ducati SF V2 or a Hypermotard. I would think hard about that Triumph Rocket3, they are priced fairly but that's a heavy mf, I remember watching a British guy reviewing a Rocket3 and the turn radius is horrendous and he could not get out of a ditch making a u-turn trying to duck walk it, he's was also a giant guy and couldn't get the bike to move without having to turn it on and putting it in gear. Dealing with that Rocket3 in the garage is going to become a chore you loathe, it's like the reason why I sold my Yamaha Midnight Warrior, just don't want to feel like I'm moving a fridge everytime I go for a ride.
Yeah KTM has been plagued with camshaft issues with the their 790 and 890. I'm done with KTM. Waiting for their parts is frustrating. I love Ducati bikes, ever since I got that XDiavel but I had some issues with it and sold it. I heard people were having oil leaks with the SFV4 but not the V2. The V2 is tried and true from my understanding so I might look into getting that. I loved the look of the streetfighters. I think you are right about the Rocket 3, the weight is a beast. Its like 100 lbs heavier than the Ducati XDiavel S I had ad the XDiavel was the heaviest bike I ever owned, 560 lbs but it was light on its feel. I'm sorry I sold that bike. The new V4 Diavel is cool but I don't trust that leaky V4.
@@CycleCruza The video I watched about the Rocket 3 was Freddie Dobb's Review. Yeah, I think you'll be very happy with the SFV2, buy one slightly used with the 3k exhaust upgrade already on it from a previous owner, so you don't have to sink that liquid cash into the extra hp.
@@EEEBA1 Rear Brembo brake went out and was a known recurrent problem on the XDiavel for a while. Also the chain guard attracted rock to beat on the belt. Mine was a first year bike tho.
@@CycleCruza So how is that Ducatis "fault"? It was a Brembo recall :) And your Aprilia you bought it used didn't you? If yes you have no idea of the history of the bike. And both of those things aren't problems at all. The problem is what I was dealing with my new 2014 CBR 1000RR that no Honda dealerships could fix, that's a problem when they take your bike for a month or two with no resolution at all. And I still don't cry about it and still think they make great bikes maybe I just got a bad one...
I hear they are beasts but I never cared for the looks of the Zh2. If only Japan made pretty bikes again. Most of their bikes look like cyborg robots these days. 🤖
Y'all are absolutely drunk on horsepower. That you'll tap into 5% of the time, and pay through the nose on insurance for. Trouble with H2? It comes with an automatic $2500 premium required to make the quoted power at the wheel, otherwise enjoy all that factory restriction.
GSX-8S. Get it tuned. 62-64 ft-lb torque (MT-07 sound, with actual power). MT-09 or XSR900. Torque. Z900. Torque. GSX-S1000. Torque. Lots of it. KTM 990 and 1390. Torque. Used Ducati Monster 1100. Torque. Used late-90's ZX-11 or GPz1100. Torque. Used 1250 Bandit. Get it tuned. 92 ft-lb torque at the wheel (under half revs). THE LEAST EXPENSIVE big-bore four. Used B-King. Torque. Used Vmax. Ultimately you're gonna have to stop being a WEIGHT WEENIE if you want big torque. Engines that put out a lot of twist at lower revs need a lot of metal to hold up. Metal = weight.
I’ve heard some local guys saying the MT 10 isn’t as flickable as they would like but like the look of it. Chassis mounted headlights means you don’t feel the wind through the bars as much as other nakeds
I'd buy your 690...I can make a f## kin rubber grommet. Anyone who buys a huge street bike and expects it to act like an MX bike, has unreasonable expectations!
Yeah I had higher expectations for the bike. I named all of the cons acuurately years ago but got one anyways to try it. So I can mark that off my list. lol It would be better appreciated at a kart track.
ZH2 will change your life. Full exhaust and a flash will give you 240 HP to the rear wheel. Check out the Brocks series on the bike. It'll walk (and does walk) the MT10.
@@CycleCruza Check out "Bike World Drag Race Hyper Naked Shoot Out Part 1" The ZH2 is not a top end bike...it's not even a "hyper naked"... it's a "muscle naked." Mine has 240 to the rear wheel with the Full Brocks and Bren Tune. You can't compete with supercharged torque...it's instant on like electric. The MT10 and the Duke can't compete. Watch the drag race with these bikes in stock form.
@@exothermal.sprocket It's hard to get to the higher revs, cannot keep the front end down. As Bike World states, during this drag race, the guy couldn't open it up full throttle. Nor can I without the nanny controls. It's an insane motorcycle.
@@BlueRage You might call it that. I call it unmanageable power. Kawasaki can brag all it wants about stupid horsepower but if you can't actually use it, then something with a better chassis and fatter midrange torque is going to walk it. Or, you'll have to spend thousands and thousands to redo the chassis to make it hook.... and thousands and thousands more to defeat the emissions regs.
I heard they are having failed camshaft issues with the 790 and 890? Also, parts are hard to come by with KTM. I don't foresee myself getting another KTM.
love the bike but I'm 5k into a 2024 smt and the friggin valve spring actually broke! Clear warranty matter with dealer supporting it and still waiting for a reply from ktm
My 790duke 19 i bought used, it shut off on me twice in the beginning but started right back up,hasn't done it since, very strange other than that i love the bike, previous owner addressed all the suspension issues, so fingers crossed has 15,000 miles on it,sorry your having problems, ive heard getting parts is a problem
The new MT09 SP is alot better. It's handling and ride feels more aggressive than previous model years. IMO there's no point in getting a MT10 over a MT09 SP. That said why not try a full blown ADV bike like the Africa Twin.
The CP4 sound for me was enough! The Mt10 is just a straight demon. I got a 2021 matte raven black which was lucky because I like the 1st gens looks way more than the 2nd gen. The new mt09's are incredible though, I rode a base 2023 and it felt fantastic.
Look up Austin Teyler and see what mad riding he's done offroad with the V-Strom 800DE. Just tires, exhaust muffler and a tune. Thing sounds amazing and flies up the side of a mountain like so much ease. Same powertrain as the GSX-8S/R and the guys have gotten 90 horsepower/60+ torque at the wheel with full tuning options.
Gen 2 Vmax are atrociously uncomfortable. You’ll regret it. Get an old pampered Honda RC51 with lower mileage just for some Honda heritage. Plenty of torque 🤙🏼
I just got the 2024 V-Strom 800 redesign parallel twin. Older bikes would be the Harley-Davidson breakout no longer in production but the Suzuki M109R is
Full disclosure, I am not a KTM guy. I see their merits, but I lean towards more reliability and less performance at this point in my life. But cyclecruza seems to be searching for a "unicorn bike". You're never gonna find it lol
I have a 2023 Rocket-3R...So much Torque, the Earth actually Stops rotating for a split Second when you hit the Throttle, riding the opposite Way !!👍🚀🚀
@CycleCruza I bought a MT-09 SP 2024. Damn this bike is sweet brother. Literally nothing to complain about. Most buttery smooth quickshifter, and on the SP you can turn off rear abs if you want to.
lmao, never another ktm!!! shoulda got a ktm 500.. my 2021 ktm 500 will clown your yz450.. and yes thts 510cc, 60more than your yz.. also my 500 is lighter stock WITH blinkers, headlight, brake light, horn, mirrors... then i deleted most of it.. 4 years of ownership no issues.
I think KTM is really good bikes in general. Best bike i had was Husaberg FS650 65hp 253lbs. It was reliable and crazy powerful bike. But parts are kinda hard to find now.
@@jt3963 Hell yeah man those 650's are sick, I owned a FS570 which I'm sure I don't need to read the brochure about to you. Also a awesome bike, shouldn't have sold it
😂🤣Not even close bro: KTM 500 EXC-F dyno = 40.5 hp/28.6 lb-ft @ 7k rpm = th-cam.com/video/ySLxPdrKP4o/w-d-xo.html *2019 YZ450FX dyno = 53.24 hp/ 32.57 lb-ft @7330 rpm* = th-cam.com/video/AvWVbs_TFwI/w-d-xo.html My YZ is a pure race bike, you can't even compare your factory made street legal dual sport 500 exc-f to my bike. You need to do a proper 450 supermoto build conversion to understand. The extra 50cc on the 500 dual sport is a marketing ploy. No hate to your bike, still a cool bike but you can't compare it to race bike.
I've got MT 10,MT 09 and I've recently got myself MT-07 can't get of it what a simple great bike and that's the beauty in this small things that MT-07 offers you in everything. That's the bike to keep it.
I’d get rid of it too, I don’t blame you. Lol. I don’t know about the MT09 since you’ve already had one and have the MT07. It’s a hard pick right now. I just recently got an Honda XR650R. It’s sitting in my garage till I can get funds to get a lighting system and supermoto wheels. That would be pretty cool. The suspension and power to weight ratio on that thing is insane and Pantera just made a bolt on electric start for it. The downside is the beast of a kick start and carb if you don’t like fiddling with that.
He doesnt need to replace it with anything, he aint going to find anything he likes more than his yz450, could just enjoy what he has. The Indian FTR looks cool. Getting another italian bike seems like a mistake if he doesnt like expensive repairs and long waits. Personally I went with a gsxr 1000 and love it.
I have this bike for 45k miles and I have NEVER had a single problem (at most some stupid things: lost screws, quickshifter..). Same thing for all my acquaintances. If you are not able to treat your bikes well, please do not blame my very reliable travel companion for now 4 years. A blade on the road, super fun and user friendly. Try it before listening to this incompetent...
Go for Suzuki GSXS1000. Own by myself the 2018 model. Same as the 2019. No e-gas. Just ABS and traction control. Wich can be turn of just with a swich and stays off. ECU flash, if you don't like a touchy throttle, thats all you need.
Since you really liked the Mt-09 and Mt-07 I bet you would really like the Suzuki Gsx8s or Gsx8s. I have the Gsx8s and it's power wise in between those Yamahas. The ergonomics are really comfortable too!
I know how you felt about the XDiavel you had… the grunt, the soul, etc. My vote is get the Diavel V4! In black of course..I think that would be freakin awesome!
He said he hated how hard it is to get parts though, sounds exactly like my experience with triumph. I had to wait 7 months to get a seal for mine. And it would have been longer if I didn't find the one dealership in the country that had one in stock
@@CycleCruza Maaaaaaaaaan, just get it done and stop making excuses. Just make a little drive, mister “I love motorcycles”. Just looked….Cleveland triumph had two rockets right now. Go!
Don’t forget about the horrendous forks and shock they used for years. Still see those forks on the new bike and I’m not talking about the garbage air forks. I’m talking about the 4cs forks. Compete trash it ruined an entire season for me.
I had multiple ktm bikes fron the super uruliable 640 duke 690 duke 950 adventure and 620 adventure for the most part i didnt had any isues cause i maintaine them properly..you see thats the problem.the european market offers you something more fun more specific bikes that have a soul with more special parts and componets in return you have to maintaine them properly. From the other hand the japanese market used to make these kind of motorcycles but the last decade or more they dont offer nothing more than the basic comuter bike they even try to make supersports easy for commute come on guys and the reliable thing you all say its just not there anymore all manufacturers nowadays its the same they dont make the parts in their country of origin.....i dont hate on japan i love their bikes from the 90s and 2000s but the truth is that big engines or small doesnt mater dont hit us much anymore like they used to and i dont even start on the looks😂
I have the '23 GasGas 700 or KTM 690 in red plastic and I have to say it's my favorite bike ever, I've been riding for 30 + yrs and GG 700 is the funnest canyon carver bike ever!! yeah you have electronics to deal with but the ABS and the Traction Control has saved my azz a few times already so I actually need it Canyons here in SoCal are crazy tight turns
On my third ktm 690 enduro r now everytime i sell one i regret it and get another one my last one did 40k kilometer with no problem. Worst bike i ever owned was a cbr1000rr kept breaking all the time.
So because CycleCruza had an issue with a panel on the bike it is crap and never again? In that case I should say that never Suzuki or Kawasaki then, as my Suzuki actually blew up and the conrod stuck out of the crankcase and mine Kawasaki 636 boiled over and I had to mill the top and all(faulty gasket from the oil cooler) But I understand, one must click with a bike. Dislike so many bikes that many praises just because I did not click with the bikes.
To be fair, the 1290 engine has been the most bulletproof thing KTM has ever made, by a lot. People who race them hard, beat the living poo out of them running hard on a track have taken the engines completely apart for inspection. There's nearly no sign any of the parts have had use, even after seasons of hard racing. The 790 and 890 camshaft issues? Lack of proper lubrication flow in the heads. The cam metal is fine, hard, treated, polished, but just lacking the proper oil flow (due to oil passage way drilling or alignment) and over time the increased friction starts to cause issues. If I was personally going with a KTM, I'd only find a 1290 or 1390 and stay away from every other engine they make, except maybe their 300 two-stroke.
Hate to see you get rid of your bike, but my gas gas 700( same bike) I can’t keep the wheel down in first and power wheelies in second and is stock. I weigh 250 so if I had a tune and filter and pipe pretty sure I could get it to power wheelie in 3 rd.with your different exhaust and battery your probably 10 lbs lighter. So 344lb bike with 84 ho at motor is hard to beat. I’ve road 80 miles and hour for 90 miles and a couple 120 mile runups on that trip. Got 4000 miles not a hiccup . Let me know when you sell yours I may buy it.
Buy a New Yamaha R-6 Track bike or Honda 1000 RR or Yamaha R-1 no Insurance or Registration prices for a Track bike with the turn signals mirrors and lights removed.
Harley is your answer to torque. Im 69 years ild been riding since i was 8 have a motocross background trail riding znd street riding. Do it all. Mafe the switch to hd a couple years ago after riding metric ones my whole life. There's no goin back. Its its own thing that low end torque cannot be beat by any other manufacturers. Pull the trigger. Get a lowrider s. U wont be disappointed.
I only test rode one, the 2015 Breakout and it was weak. I will try to get a test ride on some of their newer bikes like lowrider. Thanks for sharing your insight!
Harley makes torque, just like an old tractor makes torque. Great for pulling a plow. Not great for acceleration and thrill. Now? You're funding a WOKE corporation. If you haven't heard about HD going WOKE, you're living under a rock.
Maybe just get a good mechanic to repair what you f'd up by putting them mods in the first place ? 2020 smr here , just oil changes ..... milage growing each day, This kids, is why you dont go to FB groups to ask what mods should you put on the bike .....
Been seeing a few turbo builds kaplans 450 made 80whp on low boost another guy has a yz450 that put down 100whp that's probably the route Id like to try one day low weight big power
Could get a steel frame evo Sportster 1200, put a cam in it, make a tracker/dirtbike, some different torque if u don’t mind the weight. I understand sticking w Japanese tho, can’t really beat the parts availability w the old sporster tho too. I always preferred carbureted bikes as well so maybe I’m wierd.
That bike is made for twisty roads not farting around in town and highways. It will piss all over your wr on the tight stuff. You can get grommets from the hardware. I'm old and have owned a lot of bikes and it's all about the adventure some bikes you will click with and some you won't. I've got 2 Japanese bikes and one Duke 690r never had a issue 25,000ks. I used to own a super Duke 990 never any problems and I wish I kept it but we all do dumb stuff. You need to stop listening to all the dudes bagging out KTM most probably never even owned one. I know about the 790 and 890 issue but it's not the 690. My biggest gripe with KTM is having to pay to unlock the track pack! That right there is BS in my book. Anyhow just enjoy the ride and keep living the Dream..
@justcrapclips4214 interesting assumption, but I've had 17 bikes over the last decade and currently on a 23 690 SMC-R. Tell me why I'm wrong instead of making a false accusation
People who don't give a fuck about a rubber grommet or rider aids will still buy it. Although they should ding him on the price for all those DIY mods he installed.
I haven't had any issues with my bike since the pop and a cut off. The fairing is missing but will be replaced soon. It is still under factory warranty. I just prefer my YZ for supermoto action. I often sell a bike every year and get a new one unless I love it.

2023 XSR9 here.. Wow.. Hard to beat it.. 21+ MT09 might be even better with the shorter swing arm and other improvements. You'd probably park the MT07, but it's nice having a disposable 2nd bike.
KTM makes the best and lightest motocross bikes. Complaining about minor stuff... The SMCR is one of the coolest bikes ever.
he's selling it cuz he cant buy new plastics. i live in philippines and can literally order one right now from the US online. LOL
@@CycleCruza If the electronic aids are your issue, I have the solution and it is free. DO you want to know or are you dead set on getting rid of it?
Trash bike
I waited 6 months for a fork guard for my Yamaha T700. Nbd
You had an MT-09. You have an MT-07. Getting a new MT-09 makes no sense. Get something different than what you had and have.
MT07 is a Twin and MT09 is a Triple
So just trying to go fast on it can be difficult if that’s your goal. lol
So I have a GSX8S to replace my missed MT-07 but even better than my MT-07 could ever be(love the sound of 270degree twins) and a ninja 1000SX for when I want more pep and highway rides but is 10000x more comfortable than my MT-09 too.

Now would be a perfect time to try the Ducati 698 Hypermotard, you could compare it to the KTM 690, it would make great content for the channel!
Good to hear. I hope you great continued luck.
"I'm keeping this as long as I'm riding"
*WR250R has entered the chat* "Where have I heard this before?"
Yeah that's like telling your girlfriend we'll be together forever. lol It sounds good and you mean well but its not reality.
Word. I started on the wr250r because of psycho croooozuh. But that bike is GUTLESS !!

DRZ400SM is the most reliable supermoto. Regret selling mine.
Responding to a few things:
* Ktm final gear ratio is garbage. They set it for mpg not giggles per mile. I'm not sure why no one changes that. That should be the first thing that should be changed no one seems to know about. Dropping a tooth in the drive sprocket is pretty much a need to do on all street models. I ended up going down 2 teeth on my 890
* ya, oem replacements are slow.
Get an old Dyna low rider and do a build series on it.
New bars and risers. New exhaust, new cams.
It would be great content.
Got a 02 fat boy with cams. Pure hot rod 🔥. Not as fast as the m8 but way cooler
Yeah that would be cool. I love the look of the Vrod and older harleys modded low and FAT. They look so boss.
Don’t get the mt09
You got a 07
Change your sprockets -1 +2 and the 07 will feel like a 09 just won’t have a lot of power over 100mph which you don’t need anyway
I use the MT-07 as a hood bike, love it the way it is.
2023+ Triumph Street Triple RS would be 🔥
My 4 month old SMC R has been at the dealer for almost 5 weeks with oil pump issues. I’ll be trading it in when I get it back.
Bro you really milking this KTM is trash 😂😅. How many videos on this topic?
He is trashing the bike and has not had one problem lol. It is all based on others issues.
And yet we keep watching like fools.
What did he say that isn't true?
@@CycleCruza What "issues" did you have with your XDiavel other than the brembo brake recall which is not an issue at all? Thank you.
@@EEEBA1 Rear Brembo brake went out and was a known recurrent problem on the XDiavel for a while. Also the chain guard attracted rock to beat on the belt. Mine was a first year bike tho.
@@CycleCruza So how is that Ducatis "fault"? It was a Brembo recall :)
And your Aprilia you bought it used didn't you? If yes you have no idea of the history of the bike.
And both of those things aren't problems at all.
The problem is what I was dealing with my new 2014 CBR 1000RR that no Honda dealerships could fix, that's a problem when they take your bike for a month or two with no resolution at all.
And I still don't cry about it and still think they make great bikes maybe I just got a bad one...

It's funny because the grommet he needs cost $1.09 and is available from KTMtwins lol

The smcr is NOT designed to ride off road. It's a supermoto, not an enduro.
ZH2 will change your life. Full exhaust and a flash will give you 240 HP to the rear wheel. Check out the Brocks series on the bike. It'll walk (and does walk) the MT10.
What about the torque tho? The top end is overkill for the street. However, I've heard positive things about the ZH2.
@@CycleCruza Check out "Bike World Drag Race Hyper Naked Shoot Out Part 1" The ZH2 is not a top end bike...it's not even a "hyper naked"... it's a "muscle naked." H2 gearing is ridiculous. Peak torque is higher revs, and in 1st gear that's already breaking all traffic laws.
Or, you'll have to spend thousands and thousands to redo the chassis to make it hook.... and thousands and thousands more to defeat the emissions regs.
Bro you bought bad modell, buy EXC and your problems are solved.
Before you write KTM off you should try the 890 SMT to let us know what it's like.
Get the new ktm duke 990 😅
@@flipkoofx1137 haha i actually kind of want the new 990 rc r even after all this
why get an MT09 if you cant ride anything beside straight line lol get a fking scooter yoo
Tanker sisters, ed, edd, and Eddie, haha, yeah.
We like to see you on the tracks with a motorcycle racer if you like.
Get a streetfighter V2💪... Or Rocket 3.... Ninja 650
The shut off is due to the throttle spacing. They make throttle spacer inserts that fix the issue with the electronic throttle by wire
@steve7572 Thanks good to know only did it going real slow thank god
Good to hear! I haven't had an issue since that one time but I was rev bombing the hell out of it. I'm better to the bike now. lol
on my ktm scm690, had it for 4 years, and i shutoff like 4 times when i was rolling with the clutch in and off the gas. No problems besides that.
It is always a tough decision to choose a new bike. I'm content with my YZ and MT07 but I get something new for the channel to share.
Older bikes would be the Harley-Davidson breakout no longer in production but the Suzuki M109R is
Hi my father had a honda 500cc, yes it was a big husky torque motorcycle, i hope they not making killing motorcycles for the roads.
Full disclosure, I am not a KTM guy. I see their merits, but I lean towards more reliability and less performance at this point in my life. But cyclecruza seems to be searching for a "unicorn bike". You're never gonna find it lol
Get a old mark1 bandit and mod the heck out of it to make it a modern weapon.
Buy a Boss Hog that’s the cruiser you can get it with a 454 big block or a 383 stroker or a LS 3 all the torque
I've never seen one.
@@CycleCruzaand you never will because it doesn’t exist. You might want to check out the boss hoss though.
All that V8 power and torque, and a ZX-12R just flies away from it.
I have a 2023 Rocket-3R...So much Torque, the Earth actually Stops rotating for a split Second when you hit the Throttle, riding the opposite Way !!👍🚀🚀
Gen one Mt-10 dude, insane torque with a de cat and a remap!
Lots of fun ✊️😃
Nah
Can get rid of that horrid headlight look tho? All of the MT bikes are great, (masters of torque series!)
@@CycleCruza Do you stare into the headlights while you're riding?

@@luigynkaren062011 coming from a guy with no videos and no bikes, your opinion is worthless. move along.
Also a awesome bike, shouldn't have sold it
😂🤣Not even close bro: KTM 500 EXC-F dyno = 40.5 hp/28.6 lb-ft @ 7k rpm = th-cam.com/video/ySLxPdrKP4o/w-d-xo.html
*2019 YZ450FX dyno = 53.24 hp/ 32.57 lb-ft @7330 rpm* = th-cam.com/video/AvWVbs_TFwI/w-d-xo.html
My YZ is a pure race bike, you can't even compare your factory made street legal dual sport 500 exc-f to my bike.
What is the part number you're looking for?
Go for Suzuki GSXS1000. Own by myself the 2018 model. Same as the 2019. No e-gas. Just ABS and traction control.
Wich can be turn of just with a swich and stays off. ECU flash, if you don't like a touchy throttle, thats all you need.
Just buy another Yamaha 450 have it on standby when your current one has to have the motor done.
I bet its a sick bike, so expensive. I got an epic deal is the only reason I got one. I'm sorry I sold it.
ktm is not bad at all you just had a change of heart and wanted more speed
I had the same one a 23 smc r. But I traded up to the bmw m1000r. Ktm reliability is always a question mark?
Try the Rocket 3!
Torque Beast!
Just test drive it.
Guaranteed, you’ll wanna take one home!
He said he hated how hard it is to get parts though, sounds exactly like my experience with triumph. I had to wait 7 months to get a seal for mine. And it would have been longer if I didn't find the one dealership in the country that had one in stock
If only I can find a dealership willing to let me test ride one. lol
@@CycleCruza Maaaaaaaaaan, just get it done and stop making excuses. Just make a little drive, mister “I love motorcycles”.
Just looked….Cleveland triumph had two rockets right now. Go!
Cb1000r would be the bike to get. The other bikes you mentioned are so over done. There’s a million videos on the Mt-09 etc.
I agree.
I never buy one. I’ve heard way too many horror stories and especially lately. They really really think KTM’s in a lot of trouble.
I would never buy a KTM. I heard way too many horror stories, especially lately with their camshaft issues.
Ducati 698 owners have no problems ordering KTM grommets. Literally the first mod they should do for their bikes. Youre just full of it
The mt10 is sick the power and the sound with a full exhaust. You would love it .
The Mt09 will soon be parked right next to my Yamaha tenere 700. I love the engine and consider the mt07 but 09 is way too nice.
If you like Yamaha next you will love Triumph. Get a triumph triple anything. Torque!
I have the '23 GasGas 700 or KTM 690 in red plastic
and I have to say it's my favorite bike ever, I've been riding for 30 + yrs and GG 700 is the funnest canyon carver bike ever!!
yeah you have electronics to deal with but the ABS and the Traction Control has saved my azz a few times already so I actually need it
Canyons here in SoCal are crazy tight turns
On my third ktm 690 enduro r now everytime i sell one i regret it and get another one my last one did 40k kilometer with no problem.
Worst bike i ever owned was a cbr1000rr kept breaking all the time.
There are a whole bunch of nice 701 and 690s here in Seattle sitting on Marketplace under $7500. Sucks that you'll be losing so much money!
Get a TW200. Do some serious off-road riding. That damn thing can go ANYWHERE.
So because CycleCruza had an issue with a panel on the bike it is crap and never again? In that case I should say that never Suzuki or Kawasaki then, as my Suzuki actually blew up and the conrod stuck out of the crankcase and mine Kawasaki 636 boiled over and I had to mill the top and all(faulty gasket from the oil cooler)
But I understand, one must click with a bike. Dislike so many bikes that many praises just because I did not click with the bikes.
Get a KTM Superduke 1290 R!
i'm chill on KTM.
Get the MT10! It fits your style I feel like
Mt 10 is ugly af
Classic case of rider error. Not one valid criticism for an experienced rider. Get yourself an XT250. That'll be more your speed.
Hey, how about an Indian FTR? I've considered getting one in the past. It's got good torque
I love my 2023 low rider s
I only test rode one, the 2015 Breakout and it was weak. I will try to get a test ride on some of their newer bikes like lowrider. Thanks for sharing your insight!
Harley makes torque, just like an old tractor makes torque. Great for pulling a plow. Not great for acceleration and thrill. Now? You're funding a WOKE corporation. If you haven't heard about HD going WOKE, you're living under a rock.
Nice video, positive vibes, and i hope you get a sale on your motorcycle soon.
Thank you!
How a bike that is good for 30-50 mile daily commutes. Look into something like that, I for one would be very interested.
Get a HD v-rod bobber engine was designed by Porsche very robust
Indian ftr, rocket 3 would be really cool bc there isn’t many channels that d content on it, or street triple/mt09 sp and bring it to track
Is there ANY bike you have owned and posted here you *didn't* whine about and was about to sell?
I'd like to see ya try an Indian chief. I'm thinking hard about one.
Would you ever decide to try owning a harley? Would love to see you living that experience and sharing your thoughts
Maybe just get a good mechanic to repair what you f'd up by putting them mods in the first place ?
2020 smr here , just oil changes ..... milage growing each day,
This kids, is why you dont go to FB groups to ask what mods should you put on the bike .....
Been seeing a few turbo builds kaplans 450 made 80whp on low boost another guy has a yz450 that put down 100whp that's probably the route Id like to try one day low weight big power
A Racket III would be cool to see.
Or go older and do something like a RC51.
Cool but I hate carb bikes. Fuek injection only for me. I'd like to do a sick vrod build with a fat tire, low and fat.
Dude cant ride for sh, couldnt even wheelie a wheelie machine then proceed to blame the electronics. Big lol
