There was a b1 battle droid that got repurposed into a farming droid after he gained sentience and tried to go awol. It was a comic strip i think you can find a video on TH-cam explaining him.
Well they were designed to be cheap, mass produced combat units based on an old security model, (The OOM units) so it makes sense. About any liquored up hillbilly with a shotgun could take out a B-1 easily. The unstoppable ones were the droidekas, B-X commandos, and B-2 Super battle droids. With better armor, superior programming, deadlier weapons, and overall quality designs, they were a force to be reckoned with. The only thing B-1's had going for them were their low cost. Mass production of the B-1 led to more units on the field, which lead to less expensive programming being used. Effectively, the separatists used quantity to make up for the lack of quality. Hence why clones would say, "the day won't come when a droid can out fight a clone without a 10-1 advantage."
In my opinion, battle droids were always so wholesome. The part that really hit me was the ending of the separatists. Having no where and to commands to do, they were pretty much lost. And good or bad they are still veterans of the great clone wars. I find it sad we don’t see them much after order 66. They deserve to be seen!
Too bad B1 and all the other battle droids were destroyed by the Aeosians (since it seems like Neeku didn't repair them afterwards). Let's hope Kragan never finds out that the advantage that he accidentally gave the Colossus in firepower & droid/manpower is no longer there to protect them
You know what, on first watch I didn’t enjoy this show but after rewatching it and having some more thoughts it grew on me It’s good in its own little ways
the droids needed more screen time Imo. The emphasis put on their strength (B-2s) in almost seizing the entire ship for the pirates and the B-1, turned commander should've earned them more than one episode and a couple of minutes.

At that point in the season, you could tell Disney was starting to muddle with Faloni’s show, either that or he just lost interest because The Clone Wars was calling him back to duty
Eh, the Clone Wars would've ended only fifty years ago, so it's more like using WWII equipment in the 1990s, which certainly wasn't unheard of in militias and guerrillas. There's also this implication in Resistance and other post-ROTJ content that, outside of the First Order, the Galaxy doesn't really advance that much militarily and only maintains the bare minimum for stuff like peacekeeping and fighting off criminal groups and whatnot (which makes sense given that the New Republic demilitarized), so Imperial era equipment is still perfectly serviceable, and with the instability after the Empire's collapse, there'd be plenty of pre-New Republic equipment laying around, hence why you have everyone running around with stuff from the OT and PT in Resistance. That'd mean that, while definitely pretty old, Clone Wars equipment and battle droids would be perfectly serviceable for small militias, criminal organizations, and outpost that don't have to fight a conventional war.
@@joekyle6594 the problem with Star Wars technology is that there’s no difference between 10 years ago and 3,450 years ago. War never changes I guess because throwing white suited men at the problem seems to be a galaxy favorite
@@creed8712 Oh yeah, that's totally fair. While I think the lack of technological development between the OT and ST is reasonable given the state the Galaxy's in (and even then, the First Order, which is basically the only large power with the interest and capacity to build up a large military, does make notable strides in advancing from where the Empire left off), I always thought that the lack of development between the Old Republic and movies in Legends was kinda silly. That being said, there's a little bit of historical precedent for that in our world (the centuries after the collapse of the Roman Empire, for example, didn't see a lot of technological progress, and someone living in that time period probably would've thought of themselves as living in the declining end of history), but I think it's taken to an extreme in Star Wars, especially given that the unifying and stabilizing presence of the Galactic Republic for millennia should, if anything, promote a period of pretty steady advancement. I do really like how the new canon seems to actually be having technology, culture, and politics change over a much more realistic time frame. IIRC, the High Republic period has hyperspace be slightly less advanced and makes bacta a relatively new technology only a few centuries before The Phantom Menace, while the Outer Rim is only starting to be colonized by the Republic at this point and the Jedi Order is radically different in terms of philosophy.
