The battle droids were by far one of the best parts of this game it was so much fun fighting against them and honestly just listening to them bicker whit each other. They did miss the opportunity though to have us fight against a AAT. A game like this as a jedi during the clone wars would be sick if we got this kind of a chatter from the droid enemies and clone allies.Ugh that'd be so cool.

They are almost sentient if you remove there programming to obey and to shoot any Jedi and so on they will be sentient but very bad at doing jobs not shooting a barn

As a fighting force, they are actually pretty terrifying and efficient since they're disposable and can be salvaged for parts. Only a couple of BX have been shown to be able to wipe out clone squads alone and well, B2s have shown to be able to kill jedi and Magna Guards have kicked their asses sooo. Yeah, they're efficient but zany.

I’ve just been going round listening to battle droids in Survivor tonight… and I spotted some really hilarious things going on with them.. like agreeing with one of the raiders really enthusiastically… then stopping and going “errr, I don’t get it”. I won’t say what it is to let players experience it themselves. Another of my favourites is “You can’t beat meeeeeeeeeee” as your reflected blaster round hits him in his grill. Or the B1 that goes to throw a grenade but then starts juggling it and the catches it with a “Uh-oh… BOOOOOM”. Let’s face it… the B1 battle droids are the best thing to come out of the prequels. They always make me smile whatever they are in. Gimme a “Roger, Roger!”
I find myself amazed by the amount of friendly fire incidents I've seen in the game, be it Bedlam Raiders or the Empire. The droid chatter makes me think most droid "classes" hate each other and will not hesitate to kill another and make it look like a misfire.
Some have said the B1s' personalities come from file corruption due to low quality CPUs and lack of maintenance. An additional 10 years of hanging around seems to have given them even stronger personalities.

no, battle droids were very effective, it was because the Sith and the war profiteers who had allied with them were in charge of the droid armies battle strategy. They acted more like terrorists would than a professional army, they looted and pillaged and their defences were weak. They purposefully limited themselves by never using their full strength and not taking the opportunities presented to them. Droids were made to stand in hordes rather than take cover, AATs rarely used their missiles launchers, being used more like a movable canon than a real tank, commandos droids jumped directly in front of clone forces at close range, B2s rarely used their full firepower in battles, the list goes on and on.
I wonder how that already broken droid was still working in that cave even tho having severly damaged and lack of limbs but still they are funny as hell and polite like everyone is serious while they just act like they have 50% of brain protocol 💀
IMO, this was all they needed. The other characters making constant jokes makes it kind of silly. If it was just these droids talking it would've been perfect...IMO.
