Wow! These guys are the GOAT! The twins piggy back singing the lead from one to the next. No one does that! I know you have a lot of requests, but when you can check out the Whispers stuff from the 60s. “Seems Like I Gotta Do Wrong”!
Solar.records.have some.great Artists. The. whispers slow jams will definitely put you in choke hold after choke.hold. We didn't much care is somebody was cute.....but you better hit that note, harmonize and better not miss a step..😂
This was my oldest brother's favorite song. RIP Big Bro....man...He would put this on repeat....He had a reel to reel in his house, all the music he had, he would play this multiple times before he let it play on..LOL....The steps always bring the back to the mic...Twin brothers as the lead singers...man!!
Oh yeah, you gotta do their songs “Keep on Lovin’ Me, “Lady,” and “Rock Steady” now too. My personal favorite of theirs is “Is It Good to You,” a quiet storm classic….
I really enjoy watching you react to the "back in the day" music I love so much! I find myself thinking, wait for it , she's going to light up when the next special part breaks!
The Whispers are smoothest band to make music. Google The Whispers songs and start listening every song on the list. I would start at the top and then go down the list. They have an episode of Unsung on the TV One network. And they they truly are unsung. The Whispers have been making music since 1963, Ashley.
This was one of the hits that brought the transition out of the disco era. You could still do the Hustle to it but freestyle was cool, & like you said it’s killer tempo for roller skating. It’s contemporaries were Chic’s Good Times, (sampled for Rappers Delight) & MJ’s Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough. Fun reaction! 👍🏾
I was 16 years old in 1980 here in Brazil, and I was already playing this sound in one of the most frequented nightclubs in Salvador, Bahia. Not a single night went by at Boite Hippopotamus without the speakers exploding with this wonderful music. In my opinion, the group Whispers is the best vocal group in American soul music. Their music is current and contemporary. The richness of sounds and mix of colors floods the nocturnal environment and breaks the barriers of time. Hugs to you here in Brazil.
I have only recently discovered this channel and I'm playing catch up. Would love to share a song by Ashford and Simpson called Is it still good to you....enjoy
One of the twins (NO idea which one lol) lived in my neighborhood (on Springpark Ave. in Ladera Heights in L.A.) when I was a young. We (my 2.5 years older brother, our friends, and I - a tomboy for life) were completely out of pocket as kids. Whichever twin it was would just wave as we went by on roller skates being dragged behind a minibike (6 or 7 deep holding hands - not a helmet or any other protective gear in sight). Back then nobody cared, and kids did death-defying stuff damn near everyday. I suppose he would have cared if one of us had crashed into his Rolls though lol. That neighborhood was a haven for black celebs; Ken Norton Jr. was in my 4th grade class, and we were all scared shitless when his dad would come to school to talk to our teacher (as if the guy who broke Muhammad Ali's jaw would just randomly start wailing on 9 year olds lol). Being a kid was the BEST before parents started being afraid of EVERYTHING.
Hey Ashley. Just discovered your channel and am loving it and your responses to "our" music! You HAVE TO reviews "Olivia, Lost and turned out" by the Whispers as well. ! It will blow your mind! A must review! Trust on this one. One of my FAVORITES by them because of the story it told and that story still holds true to this day!
Hey Ashley. Look at my face. My old face. Now imagine a 12 year old kid going to his first disco. It was an exotic exciting fantasy whispered about by the older kids (when in truth it was run by the School PE teacher in a local hall!). I borrowed all my clothes from my 23 year old brother. I wore a “Fonzie” style leather jacket (if you know, you know) a hideous shirt underneath with big collars that were not underneath and nearly touched my shoulders and platform shoes. I was a big ( tall and skinny) lad for my age but nevertheless everything was a bit too big. Anyway I had no idea what a twat I looked and just danced all night to this and other equally banging stuff all night (probably til 11 o’clock when my dad came to pick me up). Never really enjoyed clubbing as a teenager or adult but before I was self conscious from 12 to about 15 (1979- 82) we danced most weekends . This was always one of my favourites. that bass…. that riff.

The Genius of the LEGENDARY Iconic Mr Leon Sylvers 💯
You should listen to Say Yes by the Whispers
They have an extensive catalog but my favorite song is (Olivia) Lost and Turned Out
Nicholas Caldwell with that smooth choreography always brings a little something special to the song. 👌👌👍👍
Fun Fact: I could NEVER tell these twins apart.
Yes! The Jam.....They have many, but possibly my favorite by The Whispers is "Keep On Lovin' Me" - very funky!
Now that is a jammer. That song is a great way to start off and finish any day. Gets me smiling
@@JaffaMusic-vn2rx lol Indeed, great minds think alike!
Hey Scotty, what's that mean?
Other hits by the Whispers: Rock steady, It’s a love thing, Lost and turned out, Keep on loving me, In the mood and Are you going my way.

Fun fact, the Johnny Gill song you just reacted to (My,My,My) was originally written for the Whispers, and they actually cut a demo of it

Hi Ms. Ashley, As others have stated, lots of good songs to choose from, I like "Rock Steady".. ♠Mr.G..
The whispers, the Ojays,Kool and the gang and the mighty Temptations had a lock on it.! Best believe.

The 1960s-1970s were the best, coolest music ever.
My favorite by these brothers “Lady” that’s my jawn…… also Will Smith sampled this “Welcome to Miami”
Will sampled this on "Miami". He sampled "He's The Greatest Dancer" by Sister Sledge for "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It."
My bad your on point

One thing about real music, not old school but real music. The break downs had breakdowns
I have only recently discovered this channel and I'm playing catch up. Would love to share a song by Ashford and Simpson called Is it still good to you....enjoy

And now you know where Will Smith sampled the beat from to produce his track that's titled, "Miami"
I remember dancing to this song at the club. 😁 Great times. Great memories.
This junt was on grand theft auto vice city made me love the game 😂😂😂
I am loving your reactions! You are a whole vibe girl!
The beginning beat will smith samples for his song miami
