Great song by a great group. I remember when this came out I was in 7th grade. The adults couldn’t believe us teenage kids were jamming to the Whispers because they knew them throughout the 70’s as a Blue Lights : romantic group. Definitely a game changer for them🎼
Anyone else here miss those glorious days of real disco beats?…..enjoying all this ‘ 70s Dance Party ‘ music Angela, thank you.❤ I give this one a 3 too.
Wow, this tune and It's A Love Thing are my 2 favorites by them! I believe Sonny & Cher had a song titled The Beat Goes On which was also pretty groovy! Boogie meter 5! I like the lyrics because it gives one hope that something better may come along! Have a great weekend and see you on Monday hopefully! Bye!
The Whispers and Shalamar were on the same label. Give a listen to Dynasty, also on the SOLGAR label, with them doing "I've Just Begun To Love You", "Love In The Fast Lane" and "Here I Am" for more of that great SOLGAR dance sound.
Dynasty is mad underrated. They got some great grooves. One of their members actually co-wrote And the Beat Goes On. In fact William Shelby wrote/co-wrote several tracks for other label mates.
Another good one to dance to, this must have just snuck into the 70's. I prefer one of their other ones 'It's a love thing'. Still a 4 from me for this one-Colin Ward
Hi Angela 😊 Fabulous reaction to The Whispers' And The Beat Goes On😊👍 Very nice groove in the video... they're really dancing up a storm to a nice beat and the groups moves for fantastic 😊 On the Boogie Meter I'm going to give it a four as the people on the dance floor were doing a great job booging down 😊 Have a great day and bye 😊👍
Boogie meter, 5 back in the clubs and parties when this and Rock Steady came out, the dance floor was packed with people doing those crazy moves that have been copied and still done today lol, but you like what you like right……
that leon f sylvers sound,,,,remember hearing a song by the group dynasty the sylvers produced,,,,remember thinking,,,the whispers could this song and not miss a beat
0:39 Nothing wrong that you “cannot stand” The Whispers’ “Rock Steady”. Completely fine. That said, I’d love to hear *that same energy* when you “cannot stand” a song in upcoming uploads. You always seem too worried about offending your Patreon that requested the tune so you let them down gently. Please be as authentic about future reactions like you are here about “Rock Steady”. Thank you! And. GIRL. C’mon now. Will Smith. “Miami”. You tried it though. 😂😉✌🏽
"Rock Steady" came out when I was in the fourth grade and I'll always remember that my best friend and classmate Portia, like you, HATED that song. No particular reason, but she just didn't like it!
Sound of Los Angeles Recordings (SOLAR) were the deal. Angela you shock me a bit how you're not feeling The Whispers that much. Damn they got the groove on with this track. That bass is juicy. The great thing about the Whispers is how versatile they are. Slow jams, mid tempo jams and upbeat hip movers. You may have also heard this because it is the main sample to Will Smith's "Miami"
My girlfriend and I had no problem dancing and moving to "And The Beat Goes On".
Driving through the night in my car through the city its summer people everywhere this song playing on the radio. Ahhh Vice City ❤
One of the best groups to ever do it. Continue to R.I.P to the Whispers that are no longer with us ❤ thanks for this one Angela..
This is one of the first songs I learned to play. It's a workout for my fingers...whew.
Their slow jams are second to none.
"It's A Love Thing" is another solid dance song from them you'd like.

You don't like Rock Steady? It's a classic! 😃😃😃
I love that funky music! wow! what memories, thank you, nice smile

The Disco scenic was so fun in the 70’s
Howdy angela I hope you and yours have a beautiful weekend just like the music you bring to the table 👍

SOLAR (Sound of Los Angeles Records). ✌🏽

Kool and the Gang's 'Get down on it' should get her going. hehe ' Even Ladies Night' or ' Hollywood Swinging' should do the trick.
Love this song.
Tha k you I for this song. This was my dancing song. Love your 70's reactions. 🎶🎤👋👩🦳💯
Wil smith used the beat samples for Miami
I've said it before and I'll say it again the 60s through the 90s had the best music
Flashback jam!
Nothing like 70s groove music, the commodores, chic, brother's Johnson, 13 at the time and loved all of it 🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶🎶
Another good one to dance to, this must have just snuck into the 70's. I prefer one of their other ones 'It's a love thing'. Still a 4 from me for this one-Colin Ward

I learned to dance in the country watching American Bandstand and Soul Train
Great rhythm section on this.
Their best. Also It's a Love Thing
they were very good!
Great choreography
timeless!!
you can not NOT move to this song
You know this song!!

Hi Ms. D., Wow, I love, LOVE "Rock Steady".. ♠Mr.G..
Whaaaaa Rock steady is the Jam
Wow! That’s also my only song I don’t care for by them. 😂
that leon f sylvers sound,,,,remember hearing a song by the group dynasty the sylvers produced,,,,remember thinking,,,the whispers could this song and not miss a beat

That's funny because "Rock Steady" may have been their biggest hits but I was really luke warm on it. I much prefer most of their other hits.
Will Smith sampled the hell out of this for Miami
This one and It's A Love Thing are my favorites of theirs. In the similar sound, please react to "Stomp" by Brothers Johnson.
You should hear their Song “In The Raw”!
"welcome to miami" will smith sampled this

Can you check out "Babe ,I love you so " by K.C. and the Sunshine band, it's not a upbeat song but it's a great slow groove. ❤❤
Love this song , definitely a dance floor filler in the 70s , personally I would have given it a 4
Would you react to No one's gonna love you by SOS Band?
👍👍💯🔥🔥
Rock steady was at the back end of their careers, the slow song by them there isn't much rivals to those songs...
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😃😃
Oh i was the first to comment. You never say anything to youre friends on here! Ive brot you much business beautiful lady, lol.
GTA Vice City OST.
Not great, nor bad. give it a 3.
Focus on that bass…..it drives the song
The beat you hear and remember was sampled by Will Smith in his lame "rap" song.
It was ok, I would give it a 2. I don't remember this at all from back in the day.
