Kaitlyn Dever is a terrific actress especially when she's given the right material to work with. I hope people don't shit on her just because of certain choices for her character that isn't under her control, I always hate the internet for doing that. It's just sad 😢
I love everything that has been revealed about season 2 so far. Even though I’m absolutely terrified that Kaitlyn Dever is going to experience the same, or even worse, things Laura Bailey (who I’m a huge fan of) went through after the games release
It’s so nice to hear someone talk positively about Abby and understand that she’s just like Ellie, instead of just ranting that she ruined the game. I love Abby and I’m so excited for season 2!
If you want to watch a great Kaitlyn Dever movie with Isabelle Merced you should watch Rosaline! It’s a hilarious take on Romeo and Juliet from the perspective of Rosaline, the girl Romeo is pining over before he meets Juliet, it’s a lot of fun and has a great enemies to lovers arc too :) Isabelle Merced plays Juliet and Bradley Whitford is Rosaline’s dad!
I'm hoping to GOD that you talk about Hazbin Hotel soon!! First of all the amount of Broadway people in the cast is life giving! The songs slap! And it's so meme worthy! It's amaing I 10/10 recommend!!🙌🙌🙌
it was just announced that catherine o'hara is officially cast in TLOU season 2! i love your theory on the type of character they're casting her as and i'm excited to see how it turns out!
Kat: “Pedro Pascal nation let me hear you scream!” Me: *SCREAMS* For all the hate toward the casting, Bella and Pedro were incredible, and their off-screen friendship is the most wholesome thing ever. Those 24 Emmy noms were so deserved, I have loved the casting, and I cannot wait for more seasons/awards to come! I cannot wait for the 5-year-gap scenes (the museum birthday etc). I. WILL. SOB.
YES!!!!!! Had to cut it for time, but I had a segment applauding how phenomenal the OG cast is & how much I hope they continue the trend of bringing them on the show!
I think Kaitlyn Dever is so underrated among her peers! She’s good in both comedies and dramas. Go watch Unbelievable if you haven’t. She’s amazing in the miniseries, and the always outstanding Toni Collette is also in the cast as a bonus. I was surprised to hear this casting news because of… yeah, Abby’s physique. But considering she’s a foil to Bella’s Ellie, it all makes sense. Echoing everyone’s concerns and hoping that she doesn’t get too much hate from this show 🙏🏼
Both games are my #1 and my #2 of all time! Greatest piece of art out there! I can’t wait for Season 2 but I’m not ready to relive some of these events.
In addition to the great performances by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, I thought that Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets) was badass and terrifying in the all too brief role she had. Look forward to season two. Kaitlyn Dever should fit perfectly well with the cast.
speaking of tlou and musicals - have you seen the “one night live” musical performance of the joel rescuing ellie? it’s one of my favorites 😂😂 one of my favorite things about kathleen in the show was the direct parallels to ellie in part ii, down to the costuming which was nearly identical and picking lottie kestner’s “true faith” cover for the credits song of episode 4. i’m wondering if “Gail” might be the prophet for the seraphites. expanding over multiple seasons gives them the opportunity to give us more backstory there and i think it would be super cool
Kaitlyn Dever's best work to me is still Unbelievable but that could top it. I think it's a great casting and I don't think she needs overly buff because in the game it's like a physical representation of her commitment, but that can mostly be done through acting. I think fitter than most can work.
A character analysis video of abbey would be so cool. There's ao much to talk about with this character that i think you didn't have time for in the video
I’m a little scared for TLOU Part 2 - I recently finished the game (after taking a long, long break from it because I played all the way through the farm in like a week and it was BRUTAL), and I just really hope they rework the pacing and structure of the story. I think so many important moments are weirdly placed within the story structure, and it felt like a lot of moments were almost used as shock value. I think they have some really good material to work with, and I love the ending of the game, I just hope we get some proper time with every character before the action ramps up.
I have only seen season one and played a few minutes of Part 1 (I'm gay and it's scary as hell to me lolol), but I'm so excited to see this story continue! Season one was PHENOMENAL. Maybe I'll get through both games this year while we wait on season two to release!
I am a big Abby fan in the game. At the end of TLOU II, I realized that I loved her character more than Abby, and while I love Kaitlyn, I'm not sure she will make the best Abby..
I legitimately don't know how they're gonna adapt TLOU Part 2 considering how divisive it is and the story structure. Really makes you wonder if they're gonna make drastic changes, but I dunno. There's real potential here to make Abby less of a divisive character, but I'm going in pretty optimistically because of how much I loved the first season. I'm also not a massive hater of Part 2, so that helps I guess for my expectations lmao
I loved TLoU 2 but I cannot revisit it. When I was playing I could not go more than roughly an hour without a break and probably like a Disney movie or something. That game got to me
Melanie Lynskey was terrible casting. She was trying too hard to appear tough, and failed miserably. No way her people would’ve followed her squeaky voice in a real life apocalypse.
I actually disagree with you. The First game was a masterpiece and the second was just average, Any game that pruposely divides the fandom just for story content and shock value ( This is what Druckmann said ) isn't a good enough game
I disagree. I admire any storyteller who wants to serve the story first over fan expectations. It’s impossible to please everyone, and pandering usually makes a very boring story. Have a vision and the execution to tell the story you want is more satisfying creatively. I didn’t feel Part 2 was going for shock value. It made total sense what Joel did had consequences. Like Kat said, every action has a reaction. We just don’t think about it in games because we’re in full protagonist mode. Like, had you ever thought about Bowser’s feelings until Jack Black sang about it? We just defeat him and go our merry way. TV/film has more freedom to explore every character’s motivations and backstory. I hope they excel in S2 and beyond.
@@mhawang8204 Ah that is interesting point you bring up. Honestly your right people fan expectation shouldn't dictate any game or media however if your making a sequal there are some things that are expected for example lets say I decide to make a movie. And lets say I name the movie Naruto and perhaps Naruto dies in the first 5 minutes and then Boruto is the star for the rest of the movie. Is that serving the story and being creative or is that not some sort of shock value? Or lets use another video game character lets say A god of war 3 came out and instead of Kratos being the main character we find out he is dead and his Son has to avenge him and become the new god of war. Is that good story telling? Interesting how you bring up bowser. Oh wait its not because you probably didn't okay a single mario game. Mario Sunshine where bowser tells bowser jr peach is his mom, Super Paper Mario bowser and peach got married, Or even better the best sorce google. Honestly its not about pandering its about respect and I believe that comes in 2 forms. 1 Respect your own franchise, If I had a game called Mario and Luigi was the main character thats disrespectful. 2 Respect your consumers, lets say I'm Marvel and i put out a movie it flops and loses money at the box office. I then come out and call everyone boycotting the movie a biggot do you think that makes my movies and my studio more popular? Also to note Games should be fun right? Why are more than half the youtubers playing this game blind suffering trying to finish this game?

@@Kath_Steele Oh yay!! I believe it’s on Hulu, it’s only about 100 minutes long and is a delightful watch :)
Also I believe one of the Jets from west side story actually played Romeo too- so kind of funny

Laura Bailey is wonderful, amazing, hilarious, talented, kind, and beautiful and deserves all the love (...just saying)
Can’t hear anything about Abby without wanting to instinctively pull Laura Bailey into a protective hug

The only criticism of the Abby casting was Dever not being buff enough, not about her not being “hot enough.”

I honestly think Kaitlyn is miscast because as you mentioned, Abby is meant to be tall and muscly.

I know Florence Pugh was a fancast for Abby and I'm glad she didn't get it because she already gets too much backlash from fancasts. 🙄
The last of us would have a hilarious musical episode if it ever had one 😂

Um, she doesn’t use Molotov’s..
please add captions. i was looking forward to watching but im deaf so that wasnt an option.
