For everyone asking, sorry I haven't been active on this channel for years. The acrylic enamel that I used for this was a spray can of clear coat held upside-down and sprayed until the propellant was empty and then poked a hole in the can and extracted the liquid into jars.
Thank you for the reply! For any one interested in how to remove the paint from a spray can. th-cam.com/video/WwRdLgVYb5w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gQNTwdYzf49vY8gt
Finally a tutorial mixing resin dye with clear coat. I am maching new binding to old yellow binding finishing up a guitar restoration and I wanted to see the final product when mixing resin dye with clear coat. Thank you for the video DTH Creations
List the brand of the acrylic gloss enamel? Also the due drops. It would be helpful if you also list a link of where we can but them example Amazon, home depot ect
THIS is EXACTLY what I needed for my Glass Decorative Idea! Thank you for sharing this aesthetically pleasing and seemingly limitless color palette of options!
Great project!!!! What the the name (or brand) of the sprayer that you used as well as dye and clear coat that you used for this awesome project, and where can I get them? Thanks for sharing this project!!!
Any suggestions on how to create little bubbles in the stain to simulate the ombre recycled mexican blown glass? Maybe a light splatter of water before air brushing with the resin/clearcoat mixture? PS your video was awesome!
How would you assume this would turn out if you brush it on or dip the glass in the liquid instead of spraying it on? I don’t have a sprayer. I would just try it and see, but I don’t have any of the materials yet except for a ton of glass that needs staining.
You'd have to check the heat rating of the paint you're using to be sure it would hold up. I'm pretty sure enamel has a higher heat rating than a latex paint though.
@@dhellard214 I will give that a shot. Thank you! I tried using the Pebeo Vitrea glass paints and it was a disaster. Granted, I was using a $10 airbrush from Harbor Freight with a can of air (I don't have a compressor)...
The spray gun is a HVLP gun (high volume low pressure) and the clear coat is from a spray can of clear coat. I just held the can upside-down and sprayed until all the pressure and propellant was gone and then punched a hole in the can and poured the contents into a jar. The dye comes from alumilite.com. Hope that helps.
So did anyone ever figure out what kind of clear coat he is using? there are plenty of things that come in spray cans but harder to find something that comes in normal liquid form.
Went to a store and asked for exactly what you said: "enamel enamel clear coat", "gloss regular enamel gloss acrylic enamel gloss clear coat" (and from your posted comments) "basic semi gloss lacquer" and the salesperson couldn't believe their ears! They asked, "That was from a 'How To' video that EXPLAINS what to use?!" Lol
What kind of “ gloss enamel” are you using bc this isn’t possible unless we know what to use thank you for the tutorial anyway! Can you help us understand what to use? There are so many variables
Is enamel clear coat flexible? I want to try this on flexible plastic film that is typically used for packaging so its very flexible. I cant use it if it dries hard qnd cracks or flakes off

I´ve watched a lot of glass "staining" tutorials and your´s is simply the best! Such a clever thing to do!

Yesss!! Good stuff in the video but id skip it for a video that has the product links available unfortunately
The blue is Alumilite brand.

Looking to try to pain larger panels of glass using this technique, what sprayer would you recommend?
I used a high volume low pressure spray gun but I guess any type would work
Gave a thumbs up after the first 15 secs… too funny!
Where can I get the enamel clear coat you used and the dye? Can I get it at Home Depot?
Please mention the materials u used in the video
Did you bake it or cure it or just let it dry? Would this work on a furniture piece ? Thank you so much for sharing ❤
Need description of products used.
Say please.
I like it but know nothing about using a sprayer. Can you do a video about sprayers?
witch products did u use to make it? where can I buy that supplies?

Spray soapy water on it?
Shake it whip it

I would think it would turn out fine as long as the layer is thin and even enough to see through.
DTH Creations Cool, thanks! I will let you know what happens 😂
Honestly, if you brushed it on and left the brush strokes in it, it might be cool too and would give it some texture.
@@Southernsunsetters how did it turn out?
Exactly what į was looking !
New subscriber here thanks for tips on how to dye glass so awesome! Stay awesome!
I thought the unedited opening was very dramatic. Made me want more. Food color works ok in clear elmers glue. Looks great. Need an air brush.
explain further how it is done please
Great job.
Intro was the best
Is there a kind of paint you would recommend to make this heat-safe? I'm looking to stain glass candle jars both inside and out.
You'd have to check the heat rating of the paint you're using to be sure it would hold up. I'm pretty sure enamel has a higher heat rating than a latex paint though.

So do u have to hair an air spray gun to do this? Or can i use a roller or paint brush.? Someone let me know please!!! Lol. Thanks
That intro wasn’t bad lol I actually chuckled a bit you earned a sub 😄
Good job
Do you think its possible to use this thecnique for car Windows?
😊🔥
Possibly, but I'm not sure how well it would hold up
hey! Thanks a lot for this very useful video. I found on the market some alcohol resin dyes. Would that be ok?
Can you do this on the inside of bottle for an outdoor bottle wall ?
I would think so. Just pour it in the jar or bottle and roll the liquid around to coat everything evenly and drain the excess and let dry
What Acrylic enamel did you use?

Beautiful and easy, thanks for the knowledge!
Can you paint it on?
You should be able to
What kind of spray gun do I buy?
@fitflowchiasl4093 I used a high volume low pressure top load spray gun.
What kind of spray gun was it that you used? what products of color and solvent base did you use?
He won't answer anything
Can you drink out of these or no??
Could you pls tell us, will alcohol or alcohol based liquids deteriorate the paint ?
Could you please tell us what exactly you are using as a clear coat?
Just a basic semi gloss lacquer

nice
print a pvc film and then do a hidrodipping personalized by a printer
Yes you can infact fix broken smoking stuff w this
👌👌✔
very nice
Does this have a sticky feel or does it feel as smooth and even as the glass itself?
Completely smooth finish. Not sticky at all
@@dhellard214 awesome! I may try this. I want to make some colored jars for my candles. Is that bad to do? Flammable?
I wouldn't think so but I can't guarantee it.
do you know how hard it to find this type of video "how to make stained glass(the glass not the craft)"

Does this work on plexiglass
I've never tried it, but I would imagine it would
how durable is it?
Should be fairly durable as long as it's cleaned carefully. I wouldn't put it in a dishwasher or anything
So did anyone ever figure out what kind of clear coat he is using? there are plenty of things that come in spray cans but harder to find something that comes in normal liquid form.
Spray can of enamel clear coat. Turn upside down and empty the aerosol. Puncture can and empty contents into container. Mix color in and spray.
Are you sure that color will stay? What if it fades when you wash it?
They're made more for decoration than extensive use and washing. But if they fade or anything, they can be cleaned up easily with acetone and redone.
It’s very difficult to understand your English ..Please write details about liquid and. Dye you used in this project please

It would crack and flake off for sure. It dries very hard.
