5:36 1000000% agree on picking a commander based off the art direction. If a commander comes out and it has some abilities I like, but the art isn't speaking to me, typically I won't build it. Glad someone see it that way!
Hell yeah, it's such a big part of keeping me invested in a deck over months/years. I can have the attention span of a goldfish sometimes with all the new art variants coming out so I need art that really makes me feel some shit to keep me excited about the deck
just to throw some numbers and funfacts: this and last year (2023-2024) we are close to 4k new cards. around the same amount we got from 2009-2014. (its around 250 more) so what does this mean? we are close to trippling how much new cards we get in a timespann of a decade (10 years). the moment i had those numbers i understood better why alot of people feel overwelmed, next to the numbers for words per card or different subsets for a set or special artworks.
Alright, people hear me out: Ocelot Pride is insane in this deck! Creating a flying Pride leaves you with 4 copies and 6 cats if I'm not mistaken. Let's not do the math for the next turn...
Worth a mention … jolly is a fun modular artifact commander… arcbound and blink strategies with the ozolith that you tutor for gets out of hand quickly 😅
May now be my personal favorite commander that I've built a deck around. Never thought I'd say that about a legendary that does not include black mana. Added a Mondrak and Ojer Taq in my list and that choice has turned the deck into an absolute menace. One mana and a sideways clown to get two, three or six token copies? Count me in. Trumpeting Carnosaur's Discovery 5 triggers six times, 48 damage via Overlord of the Boilerbilges, or any six permanents exiled with Archon of Justice with just a single honk on the nose makes people experience the horror of this character. Since there's so much you can do with his ability, the way I'm probably going to play in the future is make my deck 80-90 cards that works as the core, and then have a sizable sideboard of a variety of ETB and death effect creatures which I'll shuffle and fill the missing ten or so slots of the deck with before playing.
Definitely my favorite… got three different builds for him… if you ever run him in a blink strategy… biblioplex assistant is a mvp… He goes hard in a modular artifact ozolith build… probably the funnest way I’ve found so far. Good gaming !
I've done something similar with both Feldon and Sedris and highly recommend it!! Love decks that give you those slots to really personalize the feel of the deck like that. With Feldon, it helps keeps things feeling fresh over years of playing
@@LordEric1 Man, I tried Ocelot in Arena Brawl and I feel like I really don't want to resolve a trigger stack for twenty minutes each end of my turn on the table. Really cool though, can't deny that!
@the_fat_wizard are you talking about the rumor gatherer scry trigger when you make 300 tokens in a single turn? Cause ive had that happen you definitely don't want that guy on the field when you're making a fuck ton of tokens lol
Wasn't able to kill Ken, but my wife and I were able to get in a game against you and the Jolly Balloon man at Vegas. Mr. Jolly did not disappoint.
Yooo appreciate it, was super fun playing with yall!
I'm loving your thoughts on this commander. I think I'll have to build it now.

Makes me feel way better about feeling so lost 😂

This sounds so cool thanks!!!
@@bloodoblivion787 after more games… grafted war gear and agrus kos are standouts… Jolly is a house 😎
Yoooooooo that sounds fun as hell, if i didn't already have a modular deck I would 100% have to make a second balloon man
I built Jolly. Trust me here, add Ocelot Pride. Thank me later. Craziest fun I’ve ever created in Magic
Sup family! FLY 🦅 FLY!!
Been traveling so behind on comments but Fly Eagles Fly!! That Thursday Night Football W giving me that burst of motivation I need to be productive 😂

All Boros cards suck. I hate red
Ha.. my take on green.
