Great video. A two more tips I use....
    * Quickly flip to tripod mode for take off / landing. That way an accidental flick on the controller won't send the mavic flying into you or a rock.
    * Landing with VPS on, get your hand near the mavic and within a second or 2 move your hand under it's belly and quickly hold down. The VPS will not have time to realize your hand is there and the mavic will happily rest in your palm.

      Very nice tips.
I have experience with tripod mode in hard wind. The drone was about to hit an obstacle and when I tried flying away, nothing happens because tripod mode limited the speed to much.
That's why I prefer manual on everything when conditions are tricky.
About the VPS also a great tip for most places. If on a boat moving a way the waiting time could be just enough for it to drift away again.
Conclusion: VPS on over land, and VPS off over water maybe.
      Thanks for sharing.

Good tutorial video Björn! Bought some home-made 3D printed "leg extenders" from UK, that is like essential from now on in my drone-pack. Easy to put on, can easily handcatch with just one finger on the backleg without the risk of getting hurt from the propellers. And with longer legs on, just more safe to land on rough spaces if you have to. A life saver when out kayaking and flying your drone. Can totally recommend these for everyone with a Mavic Pro. Can send you a link to it if you want to? Thanks for sharing!

Låter som en bra produkt. Vid hårt vind finns det ju nästan ingenting att ta tag i!!
      Skicka gärna länken :)

The mavic take off and landing make me love and fly my p4p most of the time. My mavic just scares the life out of me when trying to land. I just use a landing pad, free of any obstacles for miles lol.
Real shame since i love my mavic size and folding arms. Just a shame the landing is such a pain, too much to ask for a hand detection or arm / something to grab it by when it comes down like the phantom legs.
Phantom gave me some issues trying to catch on a balcony, kept moving around.

I do the same thing. I was a little nervous at first but it turned out to be very easy. Oh yeah, First.

Do you have to turn off any sensors so that Mavic do not start to run away from your hand ??
How to turn off the engines. I'm asking because I've only used autostart...
Im flying with MP2. BTW great video ;-)

Thanks! If the VPS system is on the drone will try and fly away from your hand. If it's off it will descend easier. When the drone lands in your hand or on a surface, simply keep holding down the left lever on your controller for descending. Eventually it will turn off the engines. God speed!

Bjorn, you don't have to turn off all Vision Position System. Only "Landing Protection". I think it's the second one.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว

I didn't mention it in the video.
But with all the systems turned off the drones moves a bit faster in GPS mode. And since I don't really think that the sensors helps me I rather have them turned off for most of the time!

BjörnRandén Very true, however, VPS is very handy if you lose your GPS lock even if it's a temporary loss. VPS also aids GPS in keeping the drone stable even when you do have a good GPS signal.

I think Obstacle Avoidance is the one to turn off so your Mavic will fly faster in GPS mode not VPS.

Totally agree, VPS is really good most of the times.
