I've been a commercial pilot for over a decade. This is the first guy that's explained the automation process clearly. From take off to landing. Thanks man! Much appreciated

Should really say "start controller first, then the drone". It may work your way, or it may not . But you ALWAYS turn on controller first.

Liked and Subscribed. Nice video! Thank you. Lord willing, I'll be getting a Mavic at income tax time. Wanting to do commercial work. I'm disabled, but I think this is something I can do. I live in south Florida which has multitudinous opportunities for a drone business. I'm studying for the 107 now and plan to take it before I get the drone. (plan ahead when possible).
Awesome information here. I'm looking forward to learning much more. :-) Fly Safely.

    Great video.
I keep wondering, based on the smart phones cameras, so small and good, that the near future will be on really small drones.
We could see it happening from Phanthom 4 to Mavick, and we may see it in few years , drones at least half the size of Mavick, with the same stability and video quality, if not even better.
The drone technology is growing exponentially. :-) and that is great !!

    Hey Timmothy,
Looked like this might be a great tutorial, however, if your going to teach how to use the Mavic, then I think you should do it by the book. The manual states, be sure to power up the controller and then the drone, didn't look like it caused you any issues doing it backwards but there's no doubt a reason for setting up the drone in a particular order. I enjoyed the rest of the video, but I was disappointed at the end when you shot your closing statement in a moving car. As a paramedic I see the aftermath of this type of behavior and it's not pretty. It wouldn't hurt to pull off to the side of the road for that final clip. You mention FAA rules and safety so it seams that is an important issue to you so I will continue to watch your channel. Stay safe.

hi u respond quicker than i type . i just came from google earth according to the fastest route to the airport is 5.5 miles . i gotta agree from my research nothing beats dji software . one more thing when i was flying with my club we use to fly at a airport with permission of course . WELL things have changed over the years since the age of drones.

    • @sanpol4399
      @sanpol4399 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Will Granzier exact, and when turning off , the opposite, first turn off the drone and then turn off the radio. It means, always the radio control is on if the drone is on.

Regarding Mavic Pro AEB. After clicking Camera Icon, then clicking Photo, I only have 'Single Shot' Option... nothing else! The other 4 choices are not even there. Thing is it worked earlier today just like you show and I successfulluy did a 3 shot AEB test no problem. But now, those other 4 options only show when the iPhone 8 with IOS 13 & RC, are disconnected from drone. I did a 'Camera Rest" someone mentioned in a forum, but it did not resolve this problem. I have turned off & turned everything back on to no avail. I have version DJI Go App 4.3.38, & am all updated on the Mavic Pro from the DJI Assistant. Please... any ideas?? Thanks

Hi Timothy, I've been watching your videos and had to subscribe to your valuable channel. There are some issues that I would like to discuss with you, since you're using the same phone as me. Have you noticed some overheating on your S7? Did your phone freezes the screen and/or did the Dji Go 4 app crashed sometime? A lot of users (me too) complains about radio frequency issues with the wi-fi turned on and told that the solution is to turn wi-fi off or put the phone in Airplane mode. I've been searching a definitive solution for this ever since... I don't want to conclude that Dji Go app sucks on Android phones. I would like to know if you have anything to say concerning this issue. Thanks in advance.

There is a backside of every coin. Also with DJI and its drones.
They are fabulous, absolutely. Five big stars for the product.
But if you have problem and need repair, DJI doesn’t even deserve one star.
Before you can ship your drone for repair, you have to go through the most draconian DJI procedures, which looks like they are engineered, not in order to support you, but in order to keep you at bay.
One thing weird DJI ask for before they even consider your drone for warranted service is that you download files from the drone - in my case 26 MB - and upload them to one of their sites.
The procedure is very complicated and time absorbing, and it is almost impossible to figure out how to do it.
Can you imagine what would happen if BMW asked you to bring your laptop to your carport and then connect it to the inboard computer in the cars engine room.
And then upload it to a BMW server.
And if you didn’t do that, they would’nt even consider to service your BMW.
    There would be uproar.
This is however one of DJI’s tricks to obstruct you.
It took an IT-pro and myself three hours to figure out how to send the files to DJI, just to run into the fact that the DJI site did not want to accept my password.
The site said “we will send you a new password.”
We tried several times, they never send a new password.
You can not return a drone to DJI if you haven’t kept the original box.
You can not deliver a drone yourself to their service-center.
I have bought a protection plan, they couldn't care less.
I did send all facts and a serial number one month ago.
Suddenly they ask for copy of invoice and a serial number.
Today they ask for a tracking number.
It always back to step one with DJI.
And most of the communication with them is with a robot which tell you to go to their website.
They spam you with robot answers and you get nowhere.
My crash was 9 February and I still haven't been able to fulfil all their demands to service my drone.
However I have got 16 emails from DJI where they ask me how I value their service.
Needless to say not very high.
And do not buy a protection plan where they promise you replacement two times if you crash your Mavic.
Too good to be true, but expensive.

Good and bad: Great start for a beginner like me, and good info for those looking to purchase. The video isn't perfect, but hey, who is? The one thing that really bugged me: At the end, driving while videoing yourself, and obviously looking at the camera when you should be driving!!! You should be ashamed of yourself. Don't presume to tell people about safe drone operation if you're going to do something so reckless and irresponsible as to video yourself while driving a motor vehicle. Other than that, the info was pretty good and a good video; thanks for the info.

    2. i watched also your Follow me video,i tried to do that but the drone didnt follow me,in fact i didnt had any round image on my screen to lock on me. maybe i need to change something in my settings.
    hope to hear from you.
    Eyal

Very, very good tutorial! Have u shared your work on AirVuz before? If not, u should ✔️ them out. Top spot on the web for drone vids and enthusiasts by far! The views on my vids there have been great!

hello Timothy thank you so much for your awesome review of this drone I did purchase the mavic but I was not aware of the no-fly zone settings in this drone a friend of mine said that there is a way to override this before you begin to fly because I do live within five miles of a small medical heliport near my home. also I was not aware of all the problems with the Android app working correctly with this drone lots of people are complaining about random crashes and actually when I downloaded it onto my Galaxy S5 I am not able to even open up the app so basically I have $1,000 paperweight that I can't fly right now it's quite frustrating but any insight would be great if you have any information regarding the app and also the no-fly zone issue and if there is a way to override that if that information that I got from my friend is correct thank you in advance have a great day and God bless.

Usually it’s best to power up the controller, Mavic, then the app. Then if by small chance the drone takes off, the controls will already be on and ready. Power down is the opposite.
I always forget to take off the gimbal clamp and cover. My engine is going to burn out. Did sport mode the other day and crashed, the drone can really get ahead of you if you’re not careful. Extremely fast.
    Thanks for the vid.

I like your video...it's very understandable. I'll probably watch it a few more times and your other ones also. I should be getting my mavic Pro by March 2nd and I'm pretty excited!

Great video. I just received my Mavic Pro bundle along with the micro-printed manuals that are very insufficient. This helps! Subscribing for sure!

I just got my Mavic so I'm trawling thru TH-cam trying to learn from everyone elses mistakes while the weather here in UK is too wet for me to make my own. Great video, I enjoyed it and have subscribed.. thank you. 👍

I noticed you are.using a s7 edge.but I'm any case a galaxy..how are you.connecting to controller..on the side in the slide arm or underneath in the middle via the.usb port.? any issues running the Samsung Galaxy with the dji go.4..?

Really! Firmware upgrade super easy and super fast. Not true, it takes a while, if succesful. More than likely you will have to downliad from your computer using DJI app.

this video is appreciated however I wish someone would make a video from the beginning of the initial set-up...I just bought a mavic pro and here are just some of my problems, I found out the default cable to the controller is for IPhone, if you have an android what to do ? I discovered it comes with an extended cable that has to be plugged into the (bottom) of the controller to your android phone. also this same plug is needed to charge your controller. another thing, when going to the app store what app to download dji or dji 4 ? after I tried downloading app to my phone it wouldn't download until I turned off my phone security !
at present I have gotten to this point however I'm leaving my props off until I can get the basic stuff down. my settings are on beginner however when I tried to fly, my phone indicates (disconnected) from what the mavic or the controller ? also I got no prompt to enable the gps to insure the craft will fly correctly. all the videos I have watched the person walks out sets the drone down quickly starts up the drone and flies...its the little things no one is explaining.
    thanks.

My Mavic arrives tomorrow. This is the second I have bought, sadly the first one, Lily Camera, didn't arrive but enough said about that the better. V pleased to find your channel and learn a bit before I get out there. I work as a film location manager and am hoping that this will be able to give my directors a whole new idea of what the location looks like. I have subscribed and will keep watching...

Hey Man, your spot on demonstration of the mavic aircraft was great. There is too much info on this drone from people who have no clue how to help you fly. You explained it perfectly and in English. Thank you. You got me out of a giamble issue that I had been working on resolving for half a day and Mavic Csupport or any of the drone gurus helped me out. Thanks...

    Awesome!
Been looking for the basics before I actually get mine mid to late Feb. Those that give this a thumbs down need to get a life elsewhere. Keep doing what you do, Tim.
