this is one of the most wanted lenses on my list (my first one is the tamron 150-600, and currently saving up for nikon 70-200 2.8) after i get that one, im gonna start saving for this tamron 15-30
I really wish Tamrons next SP lens will be a 200-400 f4. I love the value from their SP line of lenses and I'll probably get this one when I can afford one.
I First saw this lens at Matt Granger's site. I had to choose between this lens at 1200 or the Nikon 14-24 2.8 at 1800 ( on sale at the time ) and I choose the Tamron. The VC really comes in handy when filming video :-) No shake at all. He is correct, this lens may be heavy for some but my other Two lenses ate part of the Nikon trinity 2.8 versions but if you drop it on your foot, it will break a toe. LOL It focuses very quick & it is sharp. I don't shoot test patterns so I do not care about those tests at all. Great lens for the money :-)
please test this Tamron SP 15-30 mm f/2.8 Di VC USD lens with 5Ds and 5Dsr and give us how it behaves with megapixel monster ? I am looking forward to buy a wide angel lens for my new 5Ds.
Dear can you help me to make a choice between Canon 15-35 f/2.8 L II IS Lens and Tamron 15-30 f/2.8 Di VC USD for my canon 5D Mark III, that will be a great help. Thanks.
+Lakeshow07 The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens for Canon would be fully compatible with an older Canon DSLR, such as the 5D. Simply because the 5D is a bit older, wouldn’t cause compatibility options with the Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8. *Christina* AskPhoto@bhphoto.com
TeK RaVeN The Tamron is still somewhat new to the market and has not been lab tested by some of the review sites I commonly regard. If you were to test the two side by side I'd put my money that the Nikon is the overall better of the two lenses, but the Tamron is still an excellent lens, and for the price it's a great value. I've had experience with plenty of Tamron lenses in my time and I'd definitely consider this one. We do offer a 30 day return period on our items, so if you were to purchase either and not be satisfied you'd be able to swap it out without any issues. - Yossi
berncity1711 Sony Alpha mount cameras have stabilization built into the camera bodies, as such Tamron did not include VC for the Sony A mount version of this lens. - Yossi
What is the best prime lens available from your experience? What I need in the lens: 1- a very sharp lens 2- fast auto focusing 3- auto focusing motor sound should not be heard in the video 4- it would be great if it has image stabilization but not a must 5- a f 1.8 but if f1.4 is available for a good price then ok. 6- under 1000$ 7- 35mm, 50mm or 55mm what do you think?
Sic Lusifer Give the Sigma Art lenses a try. They're pretty much some of the sharpest lenses you can buy, have excellens build quality, they deliver very pleasing contrast and low flair and chromatic aberrations and the auto focus is ok. You will still hear it during video, but only if you use the camera's built in mic. There aren't really any completely silent lenses (the Canon STM lenses are pretty close, but they're not primes)
Sic Lusifer In order for us to make a recommendation, we would need to know what specific model camera you are purchasing a lens for. Please send us an email to askbh@bhphoto.com and our agents there can offer you recommendations to fit your criteria and your budget as well as your camera. Thanks in advance. ? Yossi
This is less of a review and more of a commercial. Not that this isn't an excellent lens but it does have issues, such as weight. When he does mention weight he frames it as a positive rather than the negative it is. He should be a politician. I'm put off when B&H passes off a commercial as a review.
LETS hope Sony rethinks killing off the A Mount!......The only A mount lenses being produced today are by Sony and Zeiss and they are marketed out of sight cost wise.....Tamron makes better or just as good lenses as both those companies at half the price, so much for quality glass costing a bundle, unless of course Sony is paying more for theirs which i seriously doubt..... Problem is, Tamron and Sigma stopped making lenses for the Sony A Mount, most probably because Sony owns much Tamron stock and has much influence in their business....Sigma, followed suit, a very very stupid business move SIGMA!......i own most all Sigma Lenses for Sony A mount cause they are less expensive and better......

+Lewis Tan , how was your experience with Tamron 150-600? Can you give little views on that, please.

***** That's a great idea. We'll take it under advisement
***** Great idea. Thanks for the suggestion, we'll take it under consideration, and thanks for watching
I first option are buying canon 16-35mm. but when I test this lens it's amazing and go for tamron sp 15-30mm. saved extra cash for canon battery grip.

How would this behave on a 5D classic? I know it's for a full frame lens but it's a really old camera

I'm very undecided between the Tamron 15-30 and the legendary Nikon 14-24 which lens would be better for NYC landscape? Any suggestion?

Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate that.
TeK RaVeN I hope you got the Tamron. Tests show it pretty much beats the Nikon in nearly every aspect
TeK RaVeN Have you ever consider the Sigma 18-35mm 2.8 "Art"?
+David Borghi Yes. But unfortunately I'm using a Full Frame not APC sensor.
But I'd still want it so I can use it on my E-mount with LA-EA4 adapter lol. Hopefully (one day) it'll come for E-mount. Won't hold my breath tho.
it works very well with the MC-11, just get a Canon version
The a-mount won't have VC?

I got one for my canon, nice lens
What is the best prime lens available from your experience? What I need in the lens:
1- a very sharp lens
2- fast auto focusing
3- auto focusing motor sound should not be heard in the video
4- it would be great if it has image stabilization but not a must
5- a f 1.8 but if f1.4 is available for a good price then ok.
6- under 1000$
7- 35mm, 50mm or 55mm

Paul Hojda Hey Paul, thanks alot for the reply. Yes I will certainly give them a try.
I was wondering if they have a fast auto focusing ability?
Sic Lusifer They're not the fastest, but they're certainly not slow either.

He said I tried..., i shot..., i was able..., etc etc
but the video shows a girl did those :D
hahahah
I want this one !
why don't they just make it weatherproof?!
To keep the price lower?
