Mallorca is an island full of beautiful natural landscapes along with beautiful stone towns full of history and tradition. We come as unaware visitors, who learn step by step how to enter the Mediterranean region with respect to vernacular architecture.
This designs reflect this by using traditional techniques and materials such as stone from local quarries. The stone facades are based on typical designs that can be found throughout the island as fences or retaining walls built using the traditional 'Pedra en sec' dry technique. This local design was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2018.
Aesthetics aside, large facades help keep the house cool during the summer and have great potential for accumulating heat in the winter.
The house respects local conditions, therefore offering a number of natural shading or ventilation systems. First, windows are pushed into the structure to create shadows on the concrete slab
