This is the perfect combination of what a sports/super car should be like today: perfectly balanced, great chassis, strong and fast middle engine (that reaches 300km/h), superb manual gearbox, astonishing design and overall a super reliable masterpiece that will live lots and lots of adventures! A good exhaust is the only thing I would change to give it a voice, and that's it: the perfect car. Thank you for this review !!!
This car is my favorite car. It's usable as a daily for driving fan people, it's sexy looking, it has a awesome porsche manual gearbox, and it's moved by one of the best engine, a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder engine ... god I love this machine.

My friend has the 981 Boxster Spyder and they are such raw untamed beasts! When the valves open over 4000 rpm it sounds absolutely beastly. Great great cars. I do have to say the old 981 sounds much better

That is a quiet cabin with the top down.
Wat een geweldige auto. Een atmosferische motor, laag en goed verdeeld gewicht en een handbak. Gewoon perfect. Alleen een gemiste kans lijkt me dat de 2e en 3e versnelling iets aan de lange kant zijn. Hadden ze de lage versnellingen wat korter gemaakt dan werd het nog wat meer een gooi en smijt bak. Dat lijkt me wat je wil met een super kort pookje en een goede gewichtsverdeling als deze.

I think that previous boxster spyder looks like a „mini” carrera GT especially in silver paintjob.
That paint job isn’t called GT Silver Metallic for nothing, and costs $2700. My 981 Spyder has the Garnet red leather interior, a classic combo with the silver.

But I’m biased -😊 picking up same spec - with black wheels and carbon buckets in May (hoping to do a European Delivery but covid 19 may nix this) Can’t wait to see how it compares to my Ferrari 360 Spyder with true manual. What other car company currently makes a mid engine NASP with gated shifter with a drop top? Can’t think of anyone. Thank you Porsche. Still making a pure drivers car. Only mistake - should have been called GT4 Spyder. 👍

Its manual, and this is traditional on spyder. They could make it automatic but they never will, because of its history. Just like they keep the analog clock in the middle of the dash.

That was my experience: Surprisingly loud on the motorway.
Nice review but...please read the manual! The top can be unlocked with the remote function on the key 🔑. And the fasteners on the canvas flaps should be put into the receptacle on the roof, not just placed on the roof.
