I'm an old retired guy who started playing WOT to occupy my free time. I had never played any kind of online game before, so it was an eye opening experience! Especially with how toxic the other players are! At first I didn't know what an SPG or a TD was. I had to learn all of the terminology and abbreviations like, "YOLO," "Face hugging" and a ton of other things you don't hear outside of gaming. I've been playing for 4 years now and I'm quite good at it. My WTR is 6,204 with a 50.6% win rate. I only sold my tanks at the beginning when I needed the credits to buy the next one. Since then I've bought back any of the good ones I had and all of my tanks have fully trained crews. I have hundreds of demounting tickets, hundreds of directives, hundreds of boosters, dozens of different equipment types in the depot and I own every tech tree tank that I ever wanted. I own 127 tanks from tier 2 to tier 10, each with fully trained crews and some of them have 5, 6 and 7 trained skills. The one thing I learned recently that I wanted to share is when getting a new tank and putting a crew in it. Normally I'd train them up to 75% with 20,000 credits each and grind to finish their training. You don't need to do that if you put in a crew that has at least one skill trained to about 50%. Put the crew in and spend the 20,000 each to train them for the tank. They'll actually be trained to 80% to 90% because they were fully trained in a different tank previously. THEN click on each crew member and find where it says "Reset." Click that and pay the 20,000 credits to choose the same skill you had, if it's one you need or change it if it's a different type of tank. You'll only lose 10% of that skill, but the crew member will then be trained to 100% for the tank. Do that for each crew member. Now that the crew is fully trained for that tank, you can use crew books that you've been saving to increase their skill levels and add more skills. If you need more skills spend 3 million credits and buy a Universal training manual to train them even further. You'll get those credits back just by the amount of credits you'll earn with a fully trained crew with several skills, over a 75% trained crew with one 50% skill! No more grinding! Hope this helps someone. I wish I had known it 3 years ago!
Note: due to a recent update, this trick no longer works. You do not need to worry about not fully trained crews anymore. Do not reset training, you will just lose xp. (Switching crews to a different tank only impacts additional crew skills now)

Very useful info. Unfortunately I already made some mistakes. I also didn't know how useful it could be to join a Clan. I always avoided it because I am not a good player and didn't want added pressure. I just want to have fun. Didn't know there were clans that you could join without requirements.
Indeed. Not even to mention in the Standard Battles how many insults are thrown to one's head being newer, not so often playing skilled player. And clans, not only more pressure to play but I am in a bad time-zone to be in a clan. They always have whatever going on during my sleep-night-time. I can be 14+ hours online with the clan just doing nothing, clan members not being online.
@@ludiomore5654 Quite a bit has changed since I wrote that comment, but, for the most part, I stand by it. I am still a member of Maxgamingfps clan and it works fine for me. Off course, it is a non competitive clan (no clan wars, etc), so very relaxed environment. You can find an occasional partner to platoon for things like Onslaught. I would encourage you to research a bit and try finding a Clan that would be closer to your time-zone. As for the verbal abuse, unfortunately I have to admit that I have lost patience (after about 8 consecutive losses or so) and engaged in some... therapeutic toxic behaviour. Yeah, not cool. When I start feeling that my emotional control is abandoning me, I either stop playing or I turn off chat. Oh, a chat ban turns out to be quite therapeutic as well. I don't report people myself (unless I see some really outrageous behaviour, such as gloating about the murder of human beings in war zones - yep, I have seen that), but you may consider that option. I also turn off chat whenever I play with a light tank. Verbal abuse will be almost certain EVEN IF YOU ARE HAVING A 5000+ SPOTING ASSIST MATCH (which is amazing).
About the credit boosters - imo that's where the premium tanks truly shine.. having a clan run credit booster, run a personal boost as well and then top it off with a credit maker like the CS-52 Lis fx or the 122TM and you'll make atleast 150k+ every match and I've had matches going significantly above that..
I never knew about the 90% crew thingy, but I did learn a trick during Lockdown of Resetting skills with creds, then Retrain to the new tank to 90% or so, then Redo Skills but I usually wait til the crewman's skills are close to 80%, because doing those steps, you do lose some % on the last skill during the process. I will sometimes use Gold on the c/c to avoid losing the skill level, but NEVER knew that just Retraining with their current skills etc.. I thought it was a total reset, and have to build up to some degree o.0
I know you have a a bunch of videos you make, and they are awesome, but this is something that I (and probably some other people) would be interested in. A quick(1 video) overview of a line. Personally, I am playing the T-34 on my way to the Obj 140, and would love it to be able to hear stuff like, a basic idea of how to play each tank on the tree, along with what equipment to pick up for that line, what skills, and a slightly more in depth review of the line (as compared to your "what tree should you grind" video. which was a very quick overview). Just an idea for something to consider. The grind is a great series to see how you play through different lines, but obviously it takes a long time to do just one line.
Put my bond rammer on 122 TM from the boxes cause I got a gift card and I wanted to use the tank wisely I have a crew working on it's fourth skill and the tank is great when it's pimped (I don't use food or directives)
I'm watching this so I could maybe get good ideas to tell my friend who just started out the game. I've spent quite a bit time playing the game so far free to play and I can tell everyone, it's pain mainly high tiers. And even worse is that I was a idiot and got the Type 5 Heavy as my first top tier and I'm hating all tanks from the tree after tier 6....

As a returning player, the new camo system is super confusing. Assuming paints has no bonus, and credit camo seems to be extended rental now, not per battle.
I was curious and went to check out that [KEKL] clan, and was puzzled to find it's only got 2 members in it, no stronghold, no battles.... looks totally abandoned. Am I looking in the right place?

Bruh after playing 7k games in 9years I didnt know you could retrain crew without losing your skills. I always just made a new crew with zero skills and threw away the old one. 🤦♂

If you can not still afford to upgrade your account to Premium, I would suggest to You or advice One thing. I was just like You, and returned to WoT after a long period. I started with Beta version since then. Now, my advice is: Try to play a T10 game, I had my awesome IS-4. Do as much damage as you can and kills. I had in 1 Battle T10s vs T10s, 6 Kills, Arsonist, Steel Wall, Hand of God, like 7-8 Medals. Now, in all of this Effort, WG recognised it an offered me 2 Coupons 1 with -50% and 1 with -30% to buy whatever I desire, from Prem Account 360days to any kind of item there is in the Store. So.. I chose to get 360days with the -50% off coupon and I paid for the service 34,70 Euros which is AN AWESOME DEAL from my point of view! Now, I am soooooo HAPPY!!!!
Max, Recruitment Program, since start of Season 8, Bonds were removed for recruits. They have a different prize pool. Bonds are still available for commanders as you showed in your video. Keep up the good work.
Good advice. Having played primarily from Release till end of 2013 and only a few battles in between this game has become overwhelmingly difficult because of the speed and damage output of the more modern tanks. Good advice on the clans withouit restrictions. I always avoided one because I am completely average.

Funny how the majority of WoT armchair generals are Brittish. You would think they'd have a history of victorious tank battles. You'd be wrong. The largest Brittish tank battle in history was operation Goodwood. Never heard of it? That's because they lost. It explains the average quality of random matchmaking in the game.
Rather than investing in premium account, complete one of the challenges or events to win a free tier 8 premium tank. I've never paid for premium account and have loved this game since I started. I hardly ever spend real money at all, and I don't think anyone needs to spend money. If you love the game and are serious about improving, premium account just makes it easier, and easier isn't always the best way forward. You will learn faster when you need to more carefully consider your ammo usage and how to be effective without expensive buffs. For most players, premium account just means you can afford to load more gold ammo (which negates learning all the weakspots) and other extras which make your tank and crew superior to most other players, especially at lower tiers. Being the bully is fun but it's not the most effective learning profile. Saying it is a horrible grind without premium account - but why are you playing a game you don't like? Tier 6 makes money and is the second most popular tier for a reason, because everyone can play and have fun without needing to spend money. Also, if you don't have at least 30 battles in any one tank, can you say you fully understand it? Finally, how is buying premium time different to saving bonds for a Tier 8 premium tank that you don't yet know how to play. Both are shortcuts and result in players racing to high tiers because they think it is some kind of accomplishment without the necessary knowledge to fully play their part in the battles. When you get gold, demounting is okay but it is better to save up for battle pass. Battle pass gives all the rewards above, as well as premium time. Demounting kits are free and are given out regularly, so there is no reason to run out. I think you used all yours up to support your point. If you are smart you buy equipment during the sales so you lose nothing overall. Buying two sets of equipment for T29 and T32 is perfectly fine because: A: You can still play tanks that you have progressed past and are more likely to understand them so you make more credits and xp. There is no reason to stop playing the T29, so there is no reason to demount the equipment unless you plan to sell the tank. B: Equipment is not limited by class or nation so having more than one is very necessary. We only move equipment when we are bored of a tank, otherwise we simply buy equipment when it is on sale. C: Destroying equipment is insane because you will lose almost as much as you gain by selling the tank. There is no reason to sell tanks because garage slots are free too if you are willing to wait a bit. Regarding free xp, note that clans now have stronghold bonuses which can provide +200% free xp per battle. Most clans have bonuses and are not serious enough to tell you when to play or anything like that. This used to be a good use for gold, as did demounting before demounting kits became free, and crew training before that became free too. Join a clan and you can get the free xp bonus so you dont need to spend gold converting that either. Therefore, the only sensible use for gold that you win playing the game should be spent on battle pass. You can win more gold in tournaments and challenges and clan events too. Paying for anything in World of Tanks just means you have not properly optimized your playing system.
I have been playing this game for 8 years and didn't know about the crew thing. Every time I get a new tank I dismiss the last crew and now I feel so dumb. I have dismissed the special crewmembers from events and stuff too because I didn't think I could do anything with them.
It's not too much of a bad thing to do, if you really need the space. But once you are done with a tank then why keep it? That way you will have the slot available for the next tank.
Wish i knew about the crew thing before i grinding to the IS.. i bought new crew every time LUL... luckily i was able to rectify that and thanks to your grind series, I have never bought a crew with a tank since.. however I do have one question.. when receiving premium crews that come with tanks, what shoud you do with those if your sole purpose is to train up your tech tree tanks, especially if you have very limited barracks?

When I started, I thought if I had a Premium Tank, I would be better. Found out sadly, not the case.

2:40 pro tip, if you retrain crew perks its gonna make the crew member 100% and lowering the actual crewskill by a little bit
Pro tip, don't choose the last skill so once you retrain it, it's gonna be a 100% just for a price of 20K credits per crew member

Wot is a tough game, if your a newb play heavy tanks they are slower and take more damage.
I have been playing this game for 8 years and didn't know about the crew thing. Every time I get a new tank I dismiss the last crew and now I feel so dumb. I have dismissed the special crewmembers from events and stuff too because I didn't think I could do anything with them.

Great video. I was told to use gold to buy discounted garage slots. I tend to not sell the tanks once I’ve ground them though.
It's not too much of a bad thing to do, if you really need the space. But once you are done with a tank then why keep it? That way you will have the slot available for the next tank.
Wish i knew about the crew thing before i grinding to the IS.. i bought new crew every time LUL... luckily i was able to rectify that and thanks to your grind series, I have never bought a crew with a tank since.. however I do have one question.. when receiving premium crews that come with tanks, what shoud you do with those if your sole purpose is to train up your tech tree tanks, especially if you have very limited barracks?
