I mean, that's the best way yo approach it, official technique or not. It's not your job as an officer to treat people like shit simply because you believe you know what's going on. Even some of the most obvious, open-and-shut cases may not be what you think. I wish all officers acted like her.

They never are
The first one the officers may have screwed themselves. You need to be under arrest (being arrested with lawful excuse) before you can be charged with resisting it. The officers literally assaulted her and "arrested" her for no lawful reason.
All good now that she's actually been arrested for murder, but she wasn't at the time of "resisting". This will get withdrawn by the prosecution and could even impact her trial, as her rights were violated during the investigation. Stupid egos getting in the way of proper LE.
The resisting wouldn't stick, you're right. But, she was given a lawful order to move away from her dad while they are investigating and walk away. They can get her with interfering with lawful duties and failure to comply to a lawful demand
@@TheDr.NEBO96 Standing motionless isn't illegal nor interference and they don't actually need to be talking to the father. So the "order" to stand in a special spot wasn't lawful, nor was the force used (to arrest her for something you can't be arrested for, unless you're under arrest already which they said aloud, she wasn't). Imho.

They told the first girl she was free to go then try to stop her from talking to her dad and control where she could go then assaulted her because she wouldn’t walk away. Since she was already freed to go they assaulted her and the arrest was illegal at that point.

They did ask her to move away from her dad while they were still talking to her dad and then they warned her.

I thought the same thing but then remembered that where I live the cops have the pink cuffs, pink tasers and pepper spray for breast cancer awareness month. And a lot of them even after the month still use them.kinda like how in sports they have the pink towel, gloves and etc. for breast cancer awareness month. Not all, but I will agree that many will treat suspects or people like they know exactly what's going on at any given second. It isn't their job to pass judgement. I like the first cop's approach, the female that talked to the suspect.
