I wouldn't take a free tour from those shameless scammers, or even if they paid me out of principle. Those young scammers should be reported and removed by the authorities, their shady actions will completely sour someone's vacation.
@@metevice Imagine this going on in one of the Disney resorts. Some shady guy pretending to be an employee asks for your tickets to fool you, then scams you into paying for a picture with Mickey, or charge you for going on the rides. This would never fly in Disney , and it shouldn’t fly at such an amazing place like the pyramids, especially since it’s a once in a lifetime time experience for most people. The people who run the pyramids have to know what’s going on, and they should get fired if they take bribes to look the other way. Management should have more respect for their guests, and the sacredness of pyramids. Sorry for the long rant, it’s just infuriating to think about how many unsuspecting guests get scammed on a daily basis.
We are sorry as Jordanians on behalf of people who want to make money for their own benefit and want you to pay more money we are sorry but you should come with a friend from Jordan or take a tour guide with you and welcome to Jordan We were pleased with the video of your visit to us💜💜💜💜
Pushing the tourists to sell them some services is not a clear crime, and sometimes when you travel abroad you don’t even know where the cops are and what you have to do in order to get or to call them! Furthermore, if the official language of the country you are visiting is arabic and you don’t understand a single word of what 90% of the locals say everything is even more complicated, sometimes also simply trying to explain to the police what’s happened and what’s going on can be really hard if the cops don’t speak a decent english or another language you can understand.
There is a better photo spot to take pictures of the Treasury, higher up and without the many scammers, but you have to be willing to hike. After the tombs of the kings, take a right and then take the many many steps up the mountain. It is so worth it, you can basically see the whole of Petra including the Theater. Then walk further across the mountain. At the end, there is a little hut, the photo spot is inside the hut. The Bedouin there will want around 2,50€ for a freshly squeezed orange juice or water (and you will need the hydration anyways) and lets you take as many pictures as you want. Perfect view of the Treasury, higher up, and the hike there is so worth it. Also, do not skip the monastery, it is breathtaking. Also, I recommend going inside Petra two days in a row. We walked around 26.000 steps each day and still hadn’t seen everything after two days. Do NOT ride the camels or mules up the stairs!!! It is animal abuse.
I was in Petra ten days ago. Wonderful place with friendly people. You must understand that the locals are trying to make a living and nothing that a smile and “la shükran” would not solve. Bedouins are hospitable and kind people and we had no problem when visiting the place.
Yes the Jordanian people and also the Bedouins are one of the friendliest and welcoming people I’ve ever met. I am talking here about the ones at the Petra (and here also some of them). There are always exceptions.
Yes, they maybe trying to make a living but not at the expense of tourists trying to peacefully experience a wonder of the world. It is a time to look, experience, reflect without being harassed constantly and surrounded by people trying to haggle with you and potentially scam you. Safer to go on a bus tour and be protected by the tour guide.
How they are making a livingby scamming for 40 dollars per person ? Thats almost 4000 USD per 40 person ... which they can make easily in 2 hours. Thats not just " making living" that's a systematic scamming.Tourists already pay high amount of entrance fee to Petra. 60 Dollars is already ridiculously expensive amount for a tourist attraction fee.
It's like paying someone just to tour when it doesn't belong or own the place. Tourist are so ignorant. Tourist needs to stop going to those countries that doesn't enforced rules
