Stock 3rd gen tire sizes for the 15x7 rims were 215/65-R15 for the early cars and 235/60-R15 for the later cars. From the side they look the same, they both are ~26.1" tall so they fill out the fenders better than the ~25.5" tall 225's that you have, the 235's feel like they give you a lot more tread then either tire. My favorite all around combination on those rims is 235/60 on the front and 255/60 on the rear, though a 275/60 DR fits well on those for dragstrip use.
I bought a 1985 Trans Am (with the 5.0 liter TPI engine) and the tires were 235/60R15 from the factory. They were an option but they were on the same style wheel as mine did not have the WS6 package with the 16" wheels.

Your new tires are already 1 year old. Last 4 digits of the DOT date says "1418" which is 14th week of 2018. Just FYI. Whats the DOT date on the old tires out of curiosity? If it's a 3 digit number, they are form the 90's.

Where im from there is only two type of tires. Winter tires(Need the snowflake in a montain logo) and summer tires. 4S are not legal in the winter if they don't have the Logo. from 15December to 15Mars(About to change for the 1December or sooner) im from Qc, Canada btw. And its a law for the winter tire btw. Running my 08 sierra on BFG all terrain KO2 because i keep them on all year not cheap but they last long.
One you put the t top seals in treat them with leather vlr by mother’s or armoral i have done that with my 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am and I have never had a drip

Old school budget stuff will always be cool. I have an 89 camaro that looks god awful but its got a mild 350 and a set of corvette ralleys on it and i get compliments everywhere i go. Something about the old school just gets everybody right in the feels. Ive been watching your videos for a long time and they are as good as always. Keep it up

Yea someone pointed out that these wheels are from a formula. Not sure what the formula size would have been.
