Man. It sucks you’re getting out of the Subaru game. Your videos of how to pull a motor were lifesavers. Never pulled a motor in my life and now I’ve done 15 of them thanks to your tutorial. Appreciate you.
That’s my exact thoughts as well. The only time i think it’s viable is if you have no other choice. I’m about to get parts tomorrow and i need parts inside but the key’s locked inside the car so i have no choice but to smash the window.
That was most likely a row of cars that were going to get scrapped. Around here the pick a part places will clear an entire row even if two of the cars still have a lot of parts. It is easier for the loader operator. Meaning...I bet he knows this yard...either there are a bunch of those headlights or that car was about to get crushed. Of course this is speculation, and I respect your opinion that we should not just trash stuff. ( I tell my scrap guys this all the time but they don't care ).
One of my favorite things about your channel is the fact you dont edit out mistakes... We all hit them fuck ups, its nice to see someone show them and present how they deal with it.
Hey! I literally used to do what you’re currently doing before and during college. I would also work on specific niche vehicles as well. If you’re serious about growing this channel, and also stacking cash. Start sorting all the vehicles you have kicking around, and selling them. Sell all high dollar performance parts you have as well. Use that cash to keep buying and flipping more projects. People love to watch the start and finish of a “flip” also you will be able to pile cash quickly this way. If you focus on that religiously the whole year, you’ll be shocked by how much you’ve made. You’re super young. You have many years to focus on personal fun performance cars. Ignore those side projects and sell off all those parts and refocus in a year or two on that side.
I’m sure you’ve heard this a lot, but your videos helped me do my first head gasket job on a forester I thought was junk. Car ended up dying of old age years later and now I have the confidence to do jobs I never thought possible before.
Dude I seriously love your channel. You have a ton of potential if you hit that TH-cam algorithm right. A lot of the automotive channels I usually watch are spitting out repetitive and boring videos but you keep it interesting. Keep on doing what you're doing and you'll be at 1 million subs in no time. Looking forward to the next video!
Thank you! I do agree. I only watch TH-cam, and I get bored of my favorite people. That has been destructive to me tho, cause I’ve deleted 20+ videos that I considered lame. That’s why my channel has taken a major turn in the past couple months, new channel plan: this is my life (no plan, random content)
@@steinfabgarage No problem! Honestly I put your channel up there with NNKH (NoNonsenseKnowHow) and unfortunately he's not been uploading as much anymore so nows your chance! Good luck!
Really didn't need to break that headlight dude. The video was enjoyable with that single exception. There is no point in ruining good parts that someone else could've picked up, kind of disappointing
For a few years, I would look through the buy a newspaper after I purchased a rear-ended vehicle for cheap. Then, I looked for one that needed a motor. Then, I would find another that needed a front end. Three cars into two. Fun times, there is no space for it now. When you enjoy it ,it's not work.
I lock my keys all the time. I just wedge something on the door, put the loin string of my hoodie and make a notch with a hole, shove it in and dangle it on the lock (this only works on the doors with locks beside the window), after it went in drag it on the left and pull so the notch will lock and pull harder to unlock it. If it's those locks on the door knobs inside then just bypass the wiring at that point. Unless you're lucky to have a window partially open and poke a stick in and poke the lock on the other side door.
Hey man. You may already know, but that purple superclean that come in a gallon at walmart degreases really good. Put it in a cheapo spray bottle. Really good for cleaning mouse resin and a great tire cleaner too. Great work man!
I currently have 2 perfectly running subarus that I've owned for years now that collin built with "ebay junk parts" that are perfect and reliable as can be
I used to buy cars from auctions and Craigslist 10 yrs ago my favorite car to flip is the mid 1990s Toyota Corolla was always easy to sell very reliable easy to fix
Not a mechanic but I feel your pain. You throw out all those nice Subaru parts and then you have a project for another Subaru and realize that all your parts went in the crusher. It’s the same with computers. I hang on to obsolete parts and then I have to clean up because the neighbors are complaining and later I need something I just threw away!😢
Te conundrum of being a mechanic. "Do i keep this parts that i might need later? Will probably never use and look like a hoarder or do i scrap/sell and found out i needed it afterwards? 😂😂
Dude I’ve got a question I’ve always wanted to get a Subaru but I’ve never worked in one I’ve heard horror stories is it worth it I am thinking about getting an log bug eye wrx ?? Could throw me some advice you seen pretty knowledgeable about this things
this is my first video ive watched of yours and ive subbed love that you show your mistakes and explain everything nicely imma check out some more videos
Getting out of the Subaru game and into the…. American muscle? We know you have the corvette, but I saw that box with the label “LSA”. Let’s go! Video on that please!
Banger video. Lot of tips and tricks I learned just watching this one vid alone. I appreciate the work you put into the cars that you sell and doing it right the first time and selling a nice dependable ride. That Subaru looks really good! LOL, your friend's name really is Dumb Ass! ;) Looking forward to the next video and what you are up to next.
I have a question to ask here. Does anyone know how to rebuild these CVT transmissions? If it's even possible? Last summer I was told the ONLY option is used.
Dealer has them, 6300 new (with my discount, you prolly pay more) but there on backorder last I checked 4 months ago, dealer has reman available for 6500 lol. Buy a jdm one on eBay with the exact transmission code there like 1k shipped that’s what I ended up doing
@steinfabgarage interesting. Thanks. I was told my only option was used at $3000 to 5000. That was shipped from an in state company/ scrap yard. I had put an aftermarket warranty on it so that helped some. But it's similar miles....
i was thinking about this very thing, what if two cars with different damage have enough parts to make a whole, and this pops up on my feed, the damn algorithm is now reading my thoughts, have I been chipped
I am happy i dont need to work on subarus they looks like an alien thing to me lol but i see everything a regular engine has lol i have only worked on v8 v6 straight 6 and 4 bangers
I have confused 😅 I was watching this video in my phone at dark room my doubt is when I play other youtube videos is not changed anything but if I play this video the phone brightness automatically increasing 😅 maybe this video HDR? Anyone's know about that ?
A whole interior for 100 bucks? In my country, the last time i was in a scrapyard, the guy there wanted to sell me a connector like for 55usd, he told me "yes, it's expensive, but it's mercedes benz, you know?".
It’s not unfortunate, Subarus are junk especially the EJ25. Let it go. Be thankful your local yard has fair prices, most here on the east coast have gotten very proud of their junk. I have been insuring my cars with Hagerty, and the roadside is great. They will pop locks, and tow any car, not just the ones you have insured with them.
Probably not, I did 4Runners before Subarus (when you could buy them for 1-2k all day). There’s a larger plan, but I need to liquidate a bitch of stuff to make it possible
10k from a rolled outback. Im no hater but your wild. I work at a big (6 site car scrapyard) in the tri state. Your wild do think thats 10k. Edit: we scrap those by the dozen a day, we have a crusher seperator

Nothin like turning 17 Subarus into one
If you ever want to sell a Subaru put a listing in Portland, OR. Those drugged up fools will buy any Subaru.
16:20 what if someone needed that. That’s what sucks about junkyards getting popular these days. People destroying good parts, ruining it for others
Exactly!

Depends on where you are, sell it in Colorado or somewhere snowy, that’s where they fetch a premium

Breaking things is free entertainment. Shame on you.
I couldn't ever have convinced myself of scrapping all those parts you had. that hurt the soul to watch.

I just junked one of those outbacks because of a stuck valve in cylinder one. Black body, great shape, just didn't have the space for it to sit

Some of these Junkyard cars are better than what I see running on North African roads.
best advice from the video is "use a skid to put a motor in a car" that was pretty smooth nice man
I currently have 2 perfectly running subarus that I've owned for years now that collin built with "ebay junk parts" that are perfect and reliable as can be
You can normally turn head upside down fill cavities round valves with thin oil and see it it drains overnight, if it does you have a valve issue.
I used to buy cars from auctions and Craigslist 10 yrs ago my favorite car to flip is the mid 1990s Toyota Corolla was always easy to sell very reliable easy to fix

I am surprised that you were not able to exchange the amount of parts you brought in for some of the parts you needed.
You had to seperate the aluminum from steel and power steering pumps Ac compressors you had over 100 bucks there 😂😂
